Chapter 16
Chapter
Sixteen
“Are you going to let me get any sleep?” Sunjiya asks with a smile.
She’s lying on her side, comfortably cocooned in his arms. Her ass grazes his semi-erect dick. It’s after three and neither has gotten any sleep. They’ve spent the last few hours pleasing each other.
“You want to sleep?” he utters into her ear. His hand slides from her stomach between her legs. He slides two fingers up her wet slit. Her body craves more than sleep. “I don’t think you do,” he adds before sliding one finger into her opening.
“I…don’t…either,” she stumbles out through a moan.
She stretches her arm back and caresses his neck as he finger-fucks her.
Right before she cums again, he removes his finger, slightly lifts her thigh, then sinks into her warm, wet, inviting pussy.
Both moan on contact. The way their bodies react to each other and connect is magical.
That’s the only way to describe it. Her tight walls grip him firmly and he fills her fully, inch by inch.
“Best…pussy…ever,” he groans, sending a chill down her spine.
“Best dick,” she counters. “Shit.”
Their bodies move to the rhythm they’ve created in this short amount of time. As he strokes in and out, she closes her eyes, relishing the feel of him. Her body is on fire, and at any moment, she’s about to explode again.
The soft kisses he’s peppering on her neck, the feel of his warm breath as he groans, and his thumb strumming her clit are all perfect and too much at the same damn time. She’s in heaven and he’s in his own fucking paradise.
She moans in pleasure as her juices flow, drowning his dick. The feeling drives him damn-near insane. To keep from losing his shit, he turns her head back at an angle and kisses her nastily. Devouring her lips keeps him from ending this good ass feeling too early.
His pace slows and his strokes become deeper and more precise.
He hits her wall and her body reacts. She jerks, her hands grip the sheets, and a massive orgasm jolts through her.
After moaning his name for what feels like minutes, she sighs loudly, relaxing into him.
Her body trembles feverously, and minutes later, he follows.
Her hugs her tightly as he busts then collapses onto the bed, satisfied.
When he catches his breath and hears her breathing normalize, he slides his arm under her satiated body and pulls her into him.
She rolls over lazily and drapes her body across his.
They’re silent for a moment, body to body.
Caught up in him and what they just did, she traces his neck ink then speaks from a place foreign to her… her heart.
“You make me feel so safe,” she reveals.
“Good ’cause I’m trying to make you mine and I protect mine at all costs. I don’t want you feeling nothing else but safe,” he assures her.
“And I believe you. I also want to thank you.”
“For what? Not for what we just did, ’cause shit, I should be thanking you,” he says and she hears the lightness in his tone.
Laughing, she says, “I wasn’t saying thanks for that, but it applies.” After planting a soft peck on his chest, she continues, more seriously. “I’m thanking you for Marina Bay. Thanks to you, all the people who hurt Tanjaya are gone,” she says and his chest tightens.
“But I didn’t save Tanjaya. That shit still fucks with me. I also hate that you had to take that nigga out. That was all me,” he says. The disappointment in his words fills the room as does her hidden truth. She wants to scream at the top of her lungs that he did save Tanjaya.
I’m fine. I’m here. Thanks to you, I’m finally free and got to kill that asshole for hurting me all those years.
Deep down, she wants to tell him the truth. She wants him to know she isn’t Sunjiya but so many things restrain her. The truth is too heavy, too hard to explain, and too late to tell.
How can I tell him I had to pretend to be Sunjiya to save my life?
That Marcelin had found me before and I thought he had again but sent a killer not his goons?
That I would do or say anything not to be back in the hell masquerading as a home?
That I had no choice? That I had to do anything to save my life?
That I had to be Sunjiya. I’ve done it before and desperate times called for me to do it again.
He will never understand that my life as Tanjaya was miserable, always has been.
Life is so much better as Sunjiya. Today alone proves that.
If he knows I’m Tanjaya, he wouldn’t want me to be his and I want and need that like I need air to breathe.
Tanjaya died today when that house went up in flames.
She’s gone and Sunjiya is here to stay. Not only is she who I need to be; she is who he wants.
At this point, the truth is irrelevant and mine to keep.
After swallowing the truth and pushing it to a place she prays he will never find, she merely says, “You tried. You really tried and that means a lot. It’s not that we didn’t save her. Marcelin just took her away from us and I took his life.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to have a service for her? Her friends and Aunt Pri might want to pay their respects,” he says.
“I don’t know. I really don’t know,” she says somberly and he doesn’t push her. Because he doesn’t want to cause her any more heartache or pain, he lets it go and just kisses her forehead.
“You do what you need to do.”
“Thank you,” she says, then yawns. Her sleepiness saves her from having to come up with an answer. It’s just another thing she has to tie up later, much later, not now.
“I guess you can sleep now,” he says, then yawns too.
“Looks like we’re both sleepy.”
“Yeah, for real, so be quiet,” he teases and she laughs.
“Let’s both be quiet,” she counters.
“Bet ’cause you need rest. Until you leave me, I’m going to live between your legs.”
“I’ll look for a late flight. Good night,” she says, then closes her eyes and drifts to sleep with a huge ass grin. She doesn’t open her eyes until after noon when she feels soft kisses planted on her shoulder.
True to his word, Akeem kisses, licks, and fucks her through three orgasms before he takes her to Miami International Airport at four.
Between rounds of sex, she manages to find and book a six o’clock flight on Federal Airlines.
Her destination is Atlanta like he believes, though it’s really Crescent Falls.
She needs to gather the few belongings left in her apartment and figure out her next steps.
Things have changed and Crescent Falls is no longer where she wants to be because she wants to be with him, back in his safe arms.
Four days feel like four months and the way Sunjiya misses Akeem is certifiable. He misses her too and it shows. He’s called each morning, checks on her throughout the day, and ends each night on the phone with her. The two unlikely and unexpected lovers have it bad.
Sunjiya’s first night in Crescent Falls is spent in The Metropolitan Hotel.
She had forgotten all about her broken apartment door.
Luckily for her, the little things she’d left were still inside.
No one had discovered the broken door or entered but she didn’t want to take any chances.
So she opted to stay at the hotel and put in a maintenance request for the door.
It was replaced for a fee the next afternoon.
The apartment is now clean. With more furniture and decorative pieces, it could really be a nice place for a new start.
In reality, it was supposed to be hers for a while, six months to be exact, but it’s just not the start she wants anymore.
Yes, it’s hers, goon and Marcelin free, but there’s one major problem.
Her heart and mind aren’t here. They’re with him, a man in Austin. She wants to be there.
After setting Quise up for his homecoming ask, finding the perfect fit and shoes, and taking him on several driving lessons, Akeem headed back to Austin on Sunday and he’s been home for less than twenty-four hours.
As every hour passes, his mind is on Sunjiya.
Since the day he took her, they have been together and the last days and nights she’s been in his arms. Her absence creates a void he didn’t expect and his once spacious nearly seventeen hundred square foot, luxury, high-rise condo feels empty without the woman who’s never even been here.
“Shit,” he mumbles to himself as he seals the blunt he just rolled.
After drying it with his lighter, he grabs a bottle of water from the fridge and steps onto his balcony. Situated on the northwest corner of the building, Akeem’s condo captures iconic, breathtaking views. He takes it all in as he lights his blunt, takes the first pull, then texts her.
Akeem: What you doing, beautiful?
Unbeknownst to Akeem, his text pops on Sunjiya’s screen just as she is texting him. They are both thinking of the other.
Sunjiya: Actually texting you
Instead of sending another text, Akeem calls her. He prefers to hear her voice any day over a written message. Real shit, he truly prefers her with and on him, talking face to face.
“Hey,” she answers.
“So, you thinking about me?” he responds.
“Yeah. I have been all day,” she admits.
“Same over here. You ready to get on the plane?”
“Yes,” she says without hesitation and he chuckles.
“I like how fast you answered. Come tonight,” he says and his words are music to her ears.
“I’ll look for a ticket.”
“Did you save my card when you booked your ticket back to Crescent Falls?” he asks.
“No. I wouldn’t do that. I can buy my own ticket, Akeem.”
“But you’re not and you never will. What I look like having my lady paying to come see me?” he questions, not expecting an answer. Her paying for anything with him wasn’t an option. “I’ll just send you my card info. Save it to your account,” he says and she doesn’t argue. It’s pointless either way.
“How’s the weather there? What should I pack?” she asks.
