Chapter 41

When Silas avoids my touch, it hurts I’ll admit. It’s not the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

I knew Neo had only been trying to help, after my confession it was clear to him my feelings for Silas and Zephyr were more than a faze. They may view me as fun, someone to control, but they were so much more to me. Deep down I wasn't so sure they'd ever view me as more.

I’d been hiding myself because I knew they weren’t ready, not that Zephyr ever told me he wasn’t, maybe he just didn’t care unlike Silas, but I'd held back who I was because I want us to be together just not like this.

I need to put my emotions aside, Silas will come out when he’s ready. Zephyr too. Maybe they never will and that’s okay too.

It just hurts when he could so easily push me aside like I mean nothing. That everything we’ve been through means nothing .

But how long do I wait?

“Jagger?” Tenley takes a seat beside me crossing her legs at her ankles, her shoulder brushes mine and I can't help the sigh that leaves me.

“Are you okay?”

Fuck, she shouldn’t care.

“I will be, Trouble.” I quietly admit.

“Does this have something to do with the conversation you, Neo and Silas had in the hall?” she says.

Tilting my head to look at her she gives me a soft smile as she shrinks into herself.

“Sorry I overheard some of it, I promise I wasn't eavesdropping.” she says quickly.

She’s supposed to be in class right now.

I give her a ‘really’ look before she stares straight ahead avoiding my gaze.

“It’s not my business.” she murmurs.

“No, it’s not.” I say clenching my jaw. Hating that Silas is putting up wall after wall.

“Does this have to do with me?” she asks.

I cast a wary glance toward her before letting out a chuckle. “No, Trouble. It’s nothing to do with you.”

“Is it something I can help with?”

“I’m afraid not.” I say.

“Can I ask you something?” Tenley says.

Moving my body, I turn facing her. Her teeth catch her lips and gently tug before she swallows. My gaze follows, my own teeth sinking into my lips.

“You can ask Trouble, but it’s if I answer.” I say firmly, running my hand across my jaw.

“I’ve heard things about Monarch Prep, I mean.”

Raising an eyebrow, “Oh yeah, what things have you heard?”

“Well, it’s more of an observation.” she shrugs.

“Ask me? ”

“I…” she goes to speak but it’s like her words get caught in her throat.

My fingers touch her chin, gently turning her head to face me.

“Come on, you obviously have something on your mind?”

“Why the masks?” She says changing the subject.

The corner of my mouth lifts, before I pull my piercing between my teeth letting it pop free.

“Why not?” I chuckle.

“You guys have been torturing me right, is that part of the game?”

“Don’t ask questions you don’t want the answers to Trouble,”

“I just want answers.” she says her gaze jumping between me and her lap.

“We’ll tell you the truth when you’re ready, Tenley.” I add.

I knew there is no way she was ready to hear the truth, not yet.

My lips ghost hers, a soft breath escapes her before I place a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth, staring into eyes as I do.

“These lips are insatiable, baby.”

“J-Jagger.”

My fingers snake around the back of her neck tugging her head back, pressing my mouth to hers.

I take her tongue hostage, tangling it with mine, before I suck it into my mouth.

She moans softly, the sound so goddamn sweet.

Cupping her cheek with my hand I break the kiss leaning my forehead against hers.

“Fuck, Trouble you make me want all kinds of things.” I murmur before placing another kiss on her lips.

She runs her fingers across my stubble, giving me a small smile.

I jump to my feet, dropping my hand out to her before she places it in my palm and I lift her to her feet.

“It’s a game, Trouble, just play along.” I wink, before I leave her standing in place staring after me.

“You two have a nice chat?” Silas asks, leaning against the locker besides mine as I put my books back.

“What?” I say.

“You two bffs now?”

“Silas.” My voice holds warning, lifting his hands in surrender he scoffs slightly, his tongue wetting his lips before his fingers reach up slightly touching my tie before he twists it between his fingers tugging me forward an inch.

“I’ve put up with you being her hero, and you all touching her, I won’t stand for you putting her before us.” He growls.

Swallowing down the pit in my stomach, I fight the urge to bite back, knowing it’ll only end with Silas punishing me for speaking out of term.

“I’d never.” I admit out loud, even though I’m not entirely sure it’s true. If I have to choose between Silas and Tenley. It might not go the way I think it would.

I pause momentarily as Silas eyes me, the weight of it forcing a heaviness into my chest.

“Are you done being a brat?” He scolds me.

“No,” I say honestly. Because pushing Silas is what makes this worth everything.

He chuckles, running his finger across my chin like Tenley did earlier.

“I like when you're bratty.” he smirks.

“Silas.”

“Yeah?” He breathes.

“She makes me feel?” I admit. For the first time in a long time my life doesn’t seem so meek. My life has been a series of unfortunate events, from my mother to everything in between.

“Are you going to submit for her?” he asks. Shaking my head he tilts his like he isn’t expecting that answer.

“I’ll only ever submit for you and Zephyr.”

Gripping my chin he tilts it upward. Raising an eyebrow he smiles .

“Good boy.”

“Yes,” I breathe.

“She’s our toy Jagger and you.” He grips my chin roughly forcing me to look at him.

“Are mine, and I will use you however I like.”

Unable to hold back the groan as Silas fingers dig into my flesh. “Y-yes.”

“Stop feeding her information because we all know how this ends.”

Not waiting for a reply he pushes off the lockers and stalks away leaving me with a rapidly beating heart and a rock hard cock.
