Chapter Twenty-Six #2

“They’re loading the busses,” I argued, though it was futile, my hips flexing into her touch. My body was moving without my permission, one hand braced against the wall next to her head as I slid the other between her knees.

She opened for me, letting me drag that touch up, and I muffled a curse when I found her bare and wet beneath her skirt.

“Then you better be quick,” she said.

It was all the warning I got before she whipped around, tugging her skirt up to expose her beautiful, perfect ass. I bit my lip at the sight of the smooth swells, running a hand over one before I gave her a playful smack.

“Hurry,” she urged.

My body was so spent from the game, every muscle sore, all my adrenaline used up — and yet I fired right back to life at her demand.

I fisted my cock and pressed it against her entrance, hiking her hips up to give me better access before I slid all the way in.

We both fought against the urge to groan, Emily’s nails biting into my forearm as she used her brace-covered arm to hold herself steady against the wall. When she winced, I slowed, maneuvering her so she could press her whole body to the wall and let her arm rest.

“Such a gentleman,” she teased, and then she looked over her shoulder, seeking my mouth until I answered her silent plea and kissed her hard. “Now fuck me like you’re not one.”

I wanted to groan. I wanted to scream. I wanted to fuck her so loud everyone in the goddamn stadium knew she was mine. Instead, I flexed deep and hard, hand around her throat and the other at her hips holding her steady as I pounded into her.

It was almost hotter than when we were loud, the restrained breaths and little whimpers of sighs she was letting loose.

I reached around and down for her clit, hiking her thigh up just enough to give me the access I needed.

Then I slowed my pace, digging deep and circling her clit in the way I’d discovered made her fall apart.

That was the thing. I knew her now — I knew how to tease her and drive her wild. I knew what routes to take when I wanted to take my time, when I wanted to make it last all night.

And I knew exactly what buttons to push when we had only minutes.

“Come on, baby,” I whispered in her ear, biting along the lobe. “Don’t make me go there alone. I need to feel you clenching my cock. I need you to come with me.”

She stifled a whimper, eyes squeezing shut, breaths pained as she met my thrusts with equal urgency.

Just as she started to come, I heard a door squeak open two floors above.

I froze, heart jackhammering right into my throat, but Emily pushed back against me.

“Do not fucking stop,” she warned.

Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck.

I was so close to my own climax that I couldn’t think rationally, couldn’t reason with logic and do what I knew I should.

I should have stopped. I should have scrambled us down the stairs and away from view.

But fuck, she was so tight, so wet, so needy. I circled her clit faster, and I felt the exact moment she came apart — her nails digging into my thigh, her teeth sinking into my forearm to stop her from screaming, her pussy squeezing around my cock.

That was all it took for me to find my own release.

It took every ounce of willpower I had not to groan when my orgasm ripped through me, quick and merciless and as powerful as a tidal wave. A radio crackled above us, footsteps slowly meandering our way.

And as much as I wanted to savor that climax, we had to move.

I whipped Emily around, grabbing her face in my hands and kissing her so hard our teeth clanged.

“You are fucking everything,” I breathed against her lips. “I need you again already. I can’t wait to get you home.”

With that, I tore away reluctantly, righting my pants and jogging up the stairs to intercept whoever it was that was coming down so Emily had time to get herself together and sneak out the door we’d come in through.

I rounded up to the next set of stairs, cock still not fully soft, muscles buzzing and my heart hammering so hard I could feel it in my throat.

I had no idea what I was about to walk into.

So when I nearly collided with Reid from Player Engagement, I somehow managed a surprised smile.

“Oh — hey, Reid.”

“Lock,” he said, relief and suspicion warring on his face. “There you are. We’re loaded on the bus, and when I ran numbers, I realized you were missing. We’ve been looking all over for you.”

“Oh, shit. Sorry,” I said, dragging a hand back through my damp hair.

What the fuck am I supposed to say?

Below us, I heard the soft sound of the stairwell door opening and shutting.

Emily was out.

“I, uh…” I laughed once, rubbing the back of my neck. “Had a little too much adrenaline after the game. Thought I’d burn some of it off.”

Reid blinked. “By running stairs?”

“Yeah.”

He stared.

“After you showered?”

I winced, letting out a breath through my nose. “I know. Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.”

“No,” he agreed.

I shrugged, trying for sheepish instead of suspicious. “I thought showering would calm me down, but I was still all keyed up. Didn’t really want to get on the bus bouncing off the walls.”

Reid just looked at me for a second, his gaze flicking over the state of me — hair damp with sweat, chest still rising too fast, face probably flushed all to hell.

I had no idea if I passed for a player fresh off a stair sprint or if he could read right through the bullshit and see me for exactly what I was: guilty as hell.

“Okay,” he said slowly. “Well, we need to get to the airport.”

“Right. Yeah. I’m good now.” I nodded a little too quickly. “Just need to grab my bag and I’ll be right there.”

He held my gaze for one beat longer before stepping aside.

“Don’t disappear again.”

“Yes, sir.”

I jogged down the stairs, grabbed my duffle where I’d dropped it in my rush to get to Emily, and headed for the bus with what I hoped looked like normal, postgame indifference.

Hands in my pockets.

Head down.

Mind absolutely nowhere near where it should’ve been.

Just before I stepped onto the bus, I chanced one glance toward the smaller staff transport parked across the lane.

And there she was.

Emily was climbing the steps, coat wrapped tight around her body, hair falling over one shoulder.

She didn’t stop, but just before she disappeared inside, she looked back.

Her gaze found mine instantly.

And with the smallest, most infuriating little smirk, she winked.

Then she was gone.

I exhaled a laugh under my breath, shaking my head as I climbed onto the bus.

This was going to be the longest postgame travel of my life.

And all I could think about was getting her back to Seattle and directly to my place.
