Chapter 3
Chapter Three
Hudson
Corvus dropped his bag by my bedroom door then collapsed onto my mattress.
He usually stayed in the guest room when he stayed over while we were still in grade school, but I had to go make sure the room was actually ready for him and not covered in dust. Fuck knew my mom never tidied up when she happened to be home, and even if she were prone to cleaning, she was never home long enough to do so.
And while Kreed usually hired someone to take care of the house, I had no idea if he’d kept up with that after I left home.
I mean, the house was clean enough from what I could see, but who knew if that was courtesy of him or a housekeeper.
“Well, Kreed looked real happy to see you,” Corvus drawled as he propped his arm behind his head to look at me.
I snorted and tapped my chin. “You got a double-chin going on here.”
He just lowered his chin toward his chest more to make it worse, making me snicker.
“But yeah. I’m not surprised he’s unhappy. Looked like he and my fucking mother were arguing when we came in, too.” And that woman alone was enough to put anyone in a foul fucking mood. So, there was no telling if his sour mood was due to my presence or Bonnie’s.
Corvus hummed. “Your mom’s a total MILF, dude. But she’s a fucking piece of work. I got a glance at that credit card bill. She racked up fifty fucking K, man.”
I sighed, hating that I was related to that witch in the slightest. I might be just as selfish as she was, and I might mow down anyone standing in the way of what I wanted, but I still had a lot of respect for Kreed because of what he did for me.
He’d put up with my mother for years just to give me stability.
And when I’d gone off to college for my freshman year, he’d also given me a credit card, telling me to use it if I needed or wanted anything.
I hadn’t ever spent more than a hundred a month on that thing, and that was usually for gas.
Kreed paid all my bills, had groceries delivered to me and Corvus every two weeks, and I had a meal plan with the school that gave me a few hundred each semester to eat at certain restaurants and get food at the campus cafeteria.
Hell, Kreed even paid for my tuition and all of my books and supplies for my classes.
It didn’t feel right to take more from him financially.
My morals might have been fucked-up, but even I had some boundaries.
“I’m gonna see if the guest room is set up for you,” I announced, heading for my open doorway.
Corvus waved me off and shut his eyes. “Cool beans, bro. I’m gonna take a nap. I’m exhausted.”
I rolled my eyes. “Dude, I did all the driving. You literally woke up, drank a protein shake, and got into my damn car. I even loaded your bag for you.”
Corvus huffed. “Watching the scenery pass by is hard work, Hudson.”
For fuck’s sake.
I left the room, leaving him to take his power nap, and headed downstairs to the guest room.
Pushing open the door, I was surprised to find it clean, though I guessed I should’ve expected it with a man like Kreed taking care of everything.
The bed was made, and when I leaned down to sniff the sheets to make sure they didn’t smell stale, I was surprised to find they’d been freshly changed.
“I have the cleaner clean this room and change the bedding every two weeks.” Kreed spoke up from the doorway. I slowly turned to face him. He looked tired and wary, looking at me as if I might suddenly attack him. I almost smiled.
He had no fucking clue the plans I had for him.
“Well, that’s convenient for me, then,” I mused.
Kreed sighed and crossed his arms over his chest, a defensive gesture I was all too familiar with. “Why are you here, Hudson?”
I smirked.
“I missed home,” I drawled, lifting one shoulder in a half-shrug.
He closed his eyes then pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’ve been around you long enough to know when you’re lying.” Dropping his hand, he opened his eyes. “Why are you really here, Hudson? Drop the bullshit.”
I crossed the distance between us, and when he made to back away from me, I gripped the collar of his black T-shirt in my fist, preventing him from moving out of my space.
Leaning in, I grazed my lips across his.
His sharp intake of breath was music to my fucking ears, and when he trembled, I damn near dragged him over to that guest bed so I could tongue-fuck his hole until he was sobbing and begging for me to let him come.
“I missed you,” I murmured, letting my eyes meet his. His brown eyes were warm and inviting, even as he stood there, acting as if he were terrified of me and what I might do to him. “And I came home to claim what’s mine.”
I released him, and he stumbled back, staring at me as if I were the devil himself. “You can’t—”
“Oh, I can,” I promised him. “And I will. Time’s up on your closeted games, Kreed.” I took a step toward him, and he stumbled back two. “There’s no getting rid of me now.”
He shook his head.
“You’ve lost your fucking mind,” he rasped, moving even further away from me.
I snorted. “Lost that a long fucking time ago, Kreed. You don’t keep your sanity when you’re raised by a woman like Bonnie.
” I reached out and cupped his cheek, stroking my thumb along his stubble covered-jaw.
I couldn’t wait to feel the scratch of it against other parts of my body.
“I’m going to nap. It’s been a long week of exams,” I told him.
“But don’t think this is over, Kreed.” A slow smile curved my lips. “We are far from over.”
