Chapter 2 The Humiliation

That was what he said, but I didn't see him again for a very long time.

After returning to the palace that day, I was starved as expected.

"Since Your Highness ate plenty of good food at Princess Manor, you must not be hungry. Let's skip tonight's dinner then." Li Momo, who took care of me, had a mean and sarcastic face.

I knew she disliked me. She used to serve beside the Empress. Being sent to look after me had made her the butt of jokes among her old sisters.

"Li Momo." I looked at the woman who was about to leave and asked out of genuine curiosity, "Uncle-in-Law said I am the Imperial Eldest Grandson. What kind of treatment should the Imperial Eldest Grandson receive?"

I swear I was only curious. No one had ever told me these things before.

But Li Momo acted as if I had struck her sore spot.

"Is Your Highness threatening this old servant?" She glared at me with widened eyes like a plucked bird. "Your Highness is only a concubine's son. Your status is naturally inferior to the other imperial grandsons."

"Really?" I felt a little scared looking at her, but I couldn't help thinking that when Uncle-in-Law spoke to me earlier that day, he hadn't shown any contempt for my status at all.

Was it because I looked like my princess Aunt that he treated me with such kindness?
