Chapter 12 The Pregnancy Pulse

The next day, Aunt and I both caught colds, just as expected.

Uncle-in-Law sat by the bed, listening to the physician with a headache.

"I shouldn't have let you play in the rain. Your bodies are weaker than mine."

Aunt and I sat obediently on the bed and exchanged a glance that said we would do it again.

"The princess has always been healthy. This is only a minor chill. She'll recover in a couple of days," the old physician said first.

Then his tone shifted. "However, when I checked her pulse, something seemed off..."

"What do you mean?" Aunt and Uncle-in-Law asked at once. Aunt looked startled too.

The physician hurried to explain. "It's still early. I can't be certain, but it looks very much like a Pregnancy Pulse."

Pregnancy Pulse...

I stared at Aunt's stomach in shock.

I was going to have a little sibling?

Aunt was still murmuring in disbelief when Uncle-in-Law swept her into his arms.

"We have a child! Aunt, we have a child!"

He looked so foolishly happy that I almost thought it wasn't so bad.

Still...

Remembering everything from my last life, I sighed quietly in my heart.

My kind and simple aunt... When would she finally see that her Prince Consort had a rotten core?
