Epilogue

EPILOGUE

ELLIOT

“Shit, Grady,” I hiss, gripping my fingers in his hair as he buries my cock deep in his throat. “I can’t…you need…I want…”

None of the words are happening in the order I need them to, but Grady doesn’t seem bothered by it. Instead, he moves further between my knees, backing me against the wall as he lifts my leg over his shoulder.

“Be careful,” I command, proud of myself for getting those words out even remotely coherently. The look Grady gives me from under his lashes is nothing short of predatory, and the next thing I know, I’m moving… upward .

My entire body is moving toward the ceiling at an alarming rate as Grady lifts me onto his shoulders and stands in one fluid motion. “Grady, what the fuck?!”

“Sorry,” he pulls back long enough to give me a brilliant grin. “Can’t talk with my mouth full, Princess.”

Then he’s back to taking me down his throat, his moans racing along my skin as he bobs his head in time with the small rocking motion of my hips. “ ShitfuckI’mgonnacome ,” I try to warn him, but it comes out as one long word. Grady swallows my cum, humming happily as I go boneless between him and the wall.

“I’m dying.”

“You’re not dying,” he chuckles, kissing the inside of my thigh. “But the dismount is the awkward part, so brace yourself”

“Shit,” I squeal as he drops me off his shoulders before easily catching me between his chest and the wall.

Grady’s laughter rumbles between us. “Sorry, was that too much excitement for my little Princess?”

“Fuck off,” I chuckle, pushing him away before he can see the blush spreading across my face. “Now get in those tight little pants and go win this fucking game.”

“Let’s go, Cougars!”

My voice carries with the rest of the team as we enter the bottom of the ninth in game seven of the National League Championship. Whoever wins this game will advance to the World Series, and we’re currently up by one against the Brewers.

We just have to hold onto our lead.

Hoax is calm on the mound with Miller behind the plate, but it feels like fate is against them when Matheson walks up. There’s a man on second and a notorious home run hitter at bat—the odds are stacked two to one that the Brewers will take the championship right now.

We’ve never been great at the odds game, though. Hoax manages to strike out Matheson, but Caldor makes it to third base behind Hoax’s back. One more out. One more, and we’re going to the World Series.

I barely register who’s at bat, my eyes glued to the man standing at first base. Grady is something to behold in his full uniform, and I hadn’t realized just how much I’d missed it in the weeks he was injured. He doesn’t look my way; his focus entirely on the game in front of him, and I use the moment to appreciate how far he’s come—how far we’ve come.

Eight weeks ago, I couldn’t speak in front of the man, content to live out my life loving him from a distance. Eight hours ago, I had his dick in my throat while he called me his pretty little whore and told me how much he loves me.

I’ve never been happier.

There’s a loud crack, followed by a sound you only hear in stadiums like this: fifty thousand people collectively sucking in a breath. A ball is in the air, but I wasn’t paying enough attention to see where it’s going. Time slows as Grady moves, muscular thighs flexing beneath the fabric of his impossibly tight pants as he takes two massive steps backward and jumps. He hangs in space for so long that I nearly have myself convinced he’s never coming down, but just as I have the thought, he begins to drop back to Earth with an odd look on his face.

It’s a grimace.

It’s a smile.

It’s—

“HE’S GOT IT!” Noise erupts around me, everyone screaming and chanting as the announcer’s garbled voice blares across the stadium. “THE CADENCE COUGARS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!”

Everyone is running. Two guys vault the barrier on my right as the entire team and staff bolt onto the field. Grady is at the center of one massive huddle, with Mills and Hoax swept into the middle of another. I keep to the edges, giving as many shoulder shoves and excited shouts as the men around me. I’m clapping, cheering, and trying very hard not to ugly cry in the middle of the field when someone’s hand closes around the front of my polo.

Suddenly, I’m being pulled into a wall of muscle, and there’s no time to react before Grady’s lips are on mine. The cheers around us seem to double in volume as Grady presses against me, dragging my body into his as he all but bends me in half. My laughter is trapped between us, his smile burning into my skin as he kisses me repeatedly on any part of my face he can reach.

“Grady!” I shout when he nips my jaw, remembering that we are very much not alone . If the entire team didn’t know we were sleeping together before, they certainly know now.

My objection has the opposite effect as Grady chuckles against my neck. “I just won the NLCS, Elliot. Let me celebrate my victory by kissing my boyfriend.”

“Y-your...” my brain short circuits as I process what he said. “Is that, uh, what we’re doing here?”

Grady’s laughter rings through the air, loud enough to be heard over the screams and cheers around us. “Yes, Elliot Bennett, that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

“Probably a good thing since you just kissed me in front of the entire team.”

“Oh, Princess,” he chuckles against my temple, turning me until I’m facing the stands with my back against his chest. “We just kissed in front of a lot more than the team.”

My heart sinks as the reality of what we’ve done hits. “I’m going to get fired.”

“About that,” he gives me an apologetic look when our eyes meet over my shoulder. “Nell might have told HR we were dating back in August.”

“So, we’ve technically been boyfriends this entire time?”

“Yes.”

“Boyfriends,” I test the word out, pretending to think it over before turning in his arms again. “For as long as you’ll have me.”

Grady gives me a devastating smile, holding me close as the team continues to rage around us. “And if I want you forever?”

The question takes me by surprise, and that’s the only reason I can think of why the following words come out of my mouth. “Matthew fucking Grady, I have wanted you since I was eighteen years old. If you think I’m saying no to forever, you haven’t been paying attention.”

“Then it’s a good thing I’m paying attention now.”

“Yes,” I agree, lacing my fingers against the back of his neck as I pull our faces together. “It really fucking is.”
