Chapter 53
Catalyst
Drew
“You don’t mind that your date is in the arms of another man?” Nancy asks me as she turns to watch Dante and Sara dance.
I smirk. “She’s beautiful in whoever’s arms she chooses to be in.”
Nancy sighs. “Yeah, if I were into dudes, Dante would definitely be someone I’d want to spend time with.”
I chuckle. “Maybe you should ask Verity to dance.”
We both look at Verity sitting at the table, sipping her drink. Her gaze seems fixed on Sara. I don’t know what that woman did to Sara, but if she tries anything else, I’ll personally destroy her and her family.
“No, she’s not really my type.” Nancy gives a little snort laugh. “I prefer someone warm-blooded.”
Turning back to Nancy, I give her a smile. “I like you.”
She rears her head back and raises an eyebrow. “You definitely aren’t my type either.”
Laughter bubbles out of me. “I’m currently in a relationship with the most attractive woman here tonight. I think I’m good. But you might enjoy my club.”
“Club?” Her brown eyes are wary.
“It’s a gentlemen’s club, but women are always welcome.” I turn her around the floor as Wyatt takes over dancing with Sara. He pulls her in tight against him. Their gazes meet and the heat from them could light this room on fire.
“Damn.” Nancy follows my gaze. “I thought Dante might be your competition, but that’s hot.”
“Yes, they are,” I say quietly.
Her eyes jerk to mine, but I shrug.
“She’s a beautiful woman. You don’t think she would look beautiful fucking anyone she wants?” I’m not trying to blow up Sara’s world, but there’s something about Nancy that makes me want to push her expectations. “It doesn’t mean she is. I’m confident she’ll be coming home with me tonight.”
Nancy doesn’t pull away but takes in Wyatt and Sara’s quiet intensity. Even though they’ve fucked, they still have that tension between them. That will-they-won’t-they vibe.
She shrugs. “That’s a straight porn I might watch.”
I laugh. “What’s your deal anyway? How did you get stuck on a date with Dante, who most women would kill to go out with?”
She smiles. “I have parents who still have hope that I’ll end up with a guy. I mean, I don’t blame my father. As far as men go, Dante is gorgeous and tall and blond. Could totally be my type. But his dick would be an issue in the relationship.”
“That could be a problem.” The song ends and I offer her my arm to lead her back to the table.
“He won’t even kiss me.” Olivia is on the phone, sitting in her chair, looking put out. It’s just her and Verity, ignoring each other. “Ugh, yeah, so not worth the hype. I’ve got to go.”
Nancy sits and looks like she’s expecting drama. I sit next to her and look out at the dance floor. Wyatt and Sara are in their own little world. I know that feeling.
When Sara looks at you like you’re her whole world, it’s powerful and makes you crave that look again and again.
“Isn’t she your date?” Verity asks. Her blue eyes latch on to me like I’m going to go tear into Wyatt for touching Sara.
I lift my glass and take a drink of the scotch. With a very satisfied grin, I say, “Yes, she is.”
Verity looks like she wants to say more but her lips press together.
“You dated Leighton Porter a few months ago.” Olivia puts her elbows on the table and rests her chin on her hands.
“Is that a question?” I arch an eyebrow.
“Didn’t you fuck Elizabeth Hartfield because she wanted to get back at Leighton?” Olivia’s eyes are wide with interest. Like if she can’t get Finny, maybe she can get me.
Verity smirks, and it’s almost like she’s calculating what it would take to make me fuck around on Sara. I smirk right back. Such easy fucking targets. I almost shake my head.
“Yes. But they both wanted another guy. So I did them both a favor and blew that up too.” I down the rest of my drink. “Sara was there at the time. I knew she was out of my league, so I didn’t even approach her.”
“But you’re here with her now.” Olivia glances toward the dance floor.
I grin. “Yes, I am.”
“But you don’t commit to anyone either?” Olivia straightens when the other women look at her. “I mean, that’s what Leighton said. They weren’t technically an item.”
“That was then.” I catch my breath as the song ends and Wyatt leads Sara back to the table. Back to me. Her cheeks are flushed and I’m sure she’s ready to explode. I can’t wait to be there when it happens. “I’m with Sara now.”
Dante
“Any luck?” Finn walks up to me with his hands in his pockets. His tie is crooked and he looks rumpled.
“Did you drag Sara off again?” I glance in the last open doorway, but no one is outside it. Fuck. The guy must have already left.
“No. My date tried to get handsy, but I told her no means no.” Finn shakes his head. “Never thought I’d be the one to have to tell someone that.”
“I never thought you’d say that either.” I lean against the wall and look back over the crowd. “Peter Sokolov has apparently left the building.”
“Is that why you’re hunting every dark corner? If I hadn’t seen Wyatt and Sara on the dance floor, I would have thought you were looking for a spot to take her.” Finn leans on the wall next to me. His gaze lingers on Sara.
There are a lot of beautiful women in here tonight, but none shine half as bright as Sara. “She does tempt me.”
Finn chuckles. “Wyatt’s going to want to play with her first.”
Wyatt’s hand lingers on the small of Sara’s back as they return to the table. She tries to hide how he affects her, but it’s written all over her. Drew stands and pulls her into his side.
“It’s time to go.” I’m done. “We’ve gotten all the information we’re going to get here. We need to regroup and figure out how to approach this.”
Finn nods and steps away from the wall. His green eyes meet mine. “Tomorrow, right? Because I definitely need to strip her naked and lose myself inside that body. How the fuck did we stay away?”
I grunt as we walk. “Tom. He made sure to keep us away. He never let us be alone with her.”
“He let you.” Finn chuckles. “If he knew how easily you’d crack, he never would have trusted you with her.”
I shake my head. “The damage is done. I don’t know where we go from here, but I can’t imagine this being a short-term situation.”
“Me either.” Finn blows out a breath. “She might cave under the pressure from her mother and Tom. Neither will accept this. At least not right away.”
“We’ll make them understand.” I stop talking as we approach the table. Nancy looks amused at the other two women. Verity looks beyond put out and Olivia looks bored.
“Finny!” Olivia bounces up. Finn sighs before returning to her side.
“It’s time to go,” I announce before anyone can be drawn into a dance or anything else. I hold my hand down to Nancy and she lets me help her to her feet.
Wyatt offers his arm to Verity. She doesn’t want to take it, but she does. Her hateful gaze lingers on Sara before Wyatt leads her off. I almost wish we were taking different cars, but at least Verity is the first drop-off.
“I don’t trust her.” Nancy’s voice is quiet under the music still playing.
I turn to look down at her. “Verity?”
“She’s going to try something, but I don’t know what. She attacked Sara in the bathroom.”
I stiffen.
She seems to realize what she said and follows with it up quickly with, “Not literally. With words. And then tried to turn me against Sara. Telling me Sara slapped her. But honestly, with the way Verity was talking, I would have slapped her too.”
It surprises me that Sara slapped her. When I take into account all the other little interactions tonight, we might have a problem with Verity Baron. She seemed very put off by Seth Hart and his friends’ relationship with Madison.
Wyatt wasn’t discreet when he danced with Sara. Finn told Verity off when he went to find Sara. They were gone for quite a while. If Verity even suspects something is going on with Sara, she might blow us all up before we’re ready.
“I don’t know anything, but I’m also not going to say anything.” Nancy’s gaze remains on Sara’s back. “Sara seems like a good person. I might have some sway with the elite in society, but I don’t know if it will be strong enough to fight a hate campaign that begins with Verity Baron.”
I nod. Verity could try to bring Sara down again, but Sara’s not a naive girl anymore. And she’s not alone.
Sara
The ride home is quiet as we drop off Verity. I don’t miss the hateful glare she gives me, but I send my own right back. Fuck her. I’m not letting her get in my head this time.
Wyatt walks her to the door and then turns and walks back.
When we get to Olivia’s, Olivia drags Finn out with her. They stand at the door for a long time as Olivia flirts with Finn. Last ditch effort, I guess. It won’t work.
“Dante will give you my number.” Nancy draws my attention away from the couple. “If either of these bitches come at you, call me. They may think I have no power, but they’d be wrong.”
I reach out and take her hand. “I really appreciate that, Nan. And thank you for stepping in with Verity. She tried to destroy me once when she had power over me. This time she has nothing but words.”
I hope. I glance at Wyatt. His dark eyes are on me. It was easy to feel safe in his arms when we danced, but even that will have repercussions. Verity told me she wanted to go after the guy I couldn’t have. He may have handed her the ammunition to succeed.
After all, he’d protect me from our relationship getting out.
Finn climbs back into the car. “Thank fuck. Remind me to lose her number.”
I arch an eyebrow at him.
“I’m losing all their numbers, flower.” He smirks but then realizes Nan is still in the car.
“I agree about losing that one’s number.” Nan shakes her head as we move into traffic again. “She considered Drew for a hot minute, but I think she’s a little obsessed with you.”
“Fuck, I hope not.” Finn shudders.
Nan laughs. “Well, I hope the rest of your evening is just as entertaining.”
The car stops at her house.
She takes my hand. “I expect a text. I definitely want to do lunch sometime.” Her eyes dart to the men in the car and she adds with a grin, “As friends.”
The little burst of tension evaporates. I nod. “I’d love that.”
Dante helps her step out and walks her to the door. I breathe out a sigh.
“Tense, princess.” Drew kisses my shoulder and looks up at me with his heated brown eyes.
“It’s hard to pretend that I don’t want all of you,” I admit.
“It’s hard to watch every man in that ballroom mentally undress you, trouble.” A shiver of anticipation rolls through me at Wyatt’s tone.
Dante joins us and the car enters traffic for the ride home, leaving me alone with my guys. My tension shifts as my pussy aches for them.
“You might need your safe word tonight, princess.”
I turn to search Drew’s eyes. He smiles and slides his hand around the back of my neck.
“Not for me. But I have a feeling you’ll be sore tomorrow.” Drew leans in and captures my lips, drawing me onto his lap, hiking my skirt up around my waist so I can straddle him.
The kiss drags me in, holding me captivated in his arms. I could spend the rest of the night just kissing him.
The sound of his zipper fills the quiet of the car. His thick cock brushes against my bare pussy before notching at my entrance. I gasp into his mouth at the feel of him there.
“Watching you with the others. Seeing how everyone there wanted to take you.” Drew’s dark eyes hold mine as he pulls me down onto his cock, stretching me, filling me.
I release a low moan. This whole night was a huge tease and I’m ready for more relief.
“You were sexy and untouchable tonight, princess.” Drew kisses my jaw as he lifts me before thrusting into me deep.
I’m so wet and ready for him. The slick sound of our fucking competes with my shortened breaths.
“I’m going to watch these three ruin you after I fuck you so hard you scream, letting everyone know you’re mine.” He brings my lips back to his and thrusts his tongue into my mouth in time with his cock in my pussy.
I gasp as the first wave of my orgasm crashes over me. He doesn’t let up and slides his fingers beneath my dress to rub my clit. My whole body tenses with the next wave that hits me. I cry out into his mouth as a flush of heat flows through me.
“That’s my girl.” Drew pumps his cock in and out until he groans his release, filling me.
My breath comes out in pants as his eyes search mine. His cocky smile makes my heart race as my pussy continues to pulse around his cock.
I slowly realize the car is stopped. My gaze darts to Dante, then Finn, then Wyatt. They’re all watching me, bulges in their pants, aching for me. I squirm against Drew and he nips at my jaw.
They’re going to ruin me. Champagne bubbles flood through me, making me feel high, tipsy on the power I have over these men and the power they have over me. I’m frozen in anticipation.
Wyatt smirks. “Whenever you’re ready, trouble.”
