Chapter 15 #2

She’s on the floor, curled up in the fetal position, surrounded by vomit.

Her hair is matted in the spots vomit landed.

Silent tears are falling down her face in waves, taking the last remnants of the eye makeup with it.

Her eyes are open, but they look like vacant orbs as she stares off into the distance.

I don’t think she knows I’m here.

“Oh, bunny,” I whisper as I rush to crouch down next to her. My heart breaks at seeing her body trembling to the point where if you saw the trembling on its own you would think she’s just cold.

“Tell me what happened,” I demand gruffly, trying my best to contain my emotion from seeing her like this.

Sutton lets out another low, soul-crushing whimper, but says nothing.

Did she get sick and couldn’t make it to the bathroom? I know I always get shaky as fuck when I throw up.

That doesn’t explain why she’s lying on the floor, though.

Slowly reaching my hand out, making sure not to startle her because I’m still not entirely sure if she knows I’m here, I brush the puke covered hair out of her face so it’s resting on her shirt instead of her skin.

I sharply inhale as I take in the bruising that’s shining right at me. Bruises in the shape of fingerprints.

“Oh, bunny,” I whisper again, not knowing what else to say that won’t make me lose it. The rage is almost too much to take.

The only thing that’s stopping me from losing it right now is me losing my shit is not what she needs. I refuse to be a reason she’s in this state. “Who did this to you?”

Whoever did this is fucking dead.

Another wave of tears come as she squeezes her eyes shut, whimpering as her body racks with another round of full body shakes.

“Shhh,” I roughly whisper through a clenched jaw. “It’s okay. I’ll take care of it.”

Sutton whimpers louder as I move to stand up.

“I’ll be right over here. I just need to make a phone call real quick. I’m not leavin’ you, bunny.” I slowly take a few steps back, careful not to move too quickly and startle her. “See? I’ll be right here.”

Her eyes don’t open, but my voice must sound close enough for comfort, settling her slightly. Pulling out my phone, I scroll until I find Hash’s name and hit call.

“Yeah?” he greets.

“You busy?”

“What’s up?”

“I need you to bring my truck to the motel a few blocks down from DD’s. You’re gonna drive my bike back.”

“Be there in thirty.” He disconnects.

No questions asked.

I glance back at Sutton as I tuck my phone back in my pocket. She hasn’t moved from the position I found her in, but the tears are still flowing. Looking around, my lip curls as I take in the interior of this shit hole. A woman like Sutton doesn’t deserve to be staying in a place like this.

It’s not her. She deserves so much more than what life is dealing her.

Spotting one of her suitcases open in the corner, I throw the few items she has scattered around in it. I make my way into the bathroom, remembering to grab whatever all the shit is women use to get ready. I’m shocked with how little Sutton has. But then again, should I be?

Grabbing everything off the counter with one swipe, I take it out into the room and dump it into the suitcase. My phone rings as I’m zipping it closed.

“Yeah?” I answer, seeing it’s Hash.

“Out front.”

I disconnect the phone, stuffing it in my back pocket.

“It’s just me, bunny.” I try to whisper as gentle as I can in her ear, but it ends up coming out rough, causing her body to tense, folding up in a tighter ball as I lift her up in my arms. Positioning her like I would hold a baby one handed, I bite back a groan as the globes of her ass mold around my arm.

The feeling of her soft heat is making my dick hard.

I exhale roughly as I grab the handle of the suitcases and look around the room one last time, making sure I didn’t forget anything. If I did, I’ll just buy it for her.

The door slams closed behind us as I carry Sutton in one arm and the suitcases wheeling behind us with the other. The sleaze bag behind the front desk looks up as he hears us coming, eyes widening in fear as he takes in Sutton’s state.

“I’ll be back and we’ll be havin’ words,” I growl. His mouth parts open ready to say something smart but closes as he thinks better of it. “And if you run, I’m findin’ you. Trust me when I tell you that you don’t want that to be the way this goes.”

Pushing through the door, I see Hash leaning up against the bed of the truck.

“Holy shit.” Hash’s voice can be heard throughout the parking lot. “What the fuck happened?”

“Don’t know. She isn’t talkin’.”

I’m hanging on by a thread as my anger grows with each step I take towards the truck.

Hash opens up the back door for me once I’m close. Laying her down gently on the backseat, I throw her suitcases in on the other side.

“This your new girl?” Hash asks.

“Yeah.” I nod. “She didn’t show up for work today and didn’t answer her phone. I got a weird feelin’ so decided to check up on her. Found her like that.” I nod to the back of the truck, where she’s still in her protective ball.

“You makin’ house calls now?”

“Fuck off,” I growl, catching the keys Hash just threw at my face. “She’s my employee. Everyone knows my employees are under my protection.”

“Uh huh.” Hash snorts, waving one hand up behind him as he walks toward my bike.

I slam the driver’s door shut harder than normal, using any outlet I can to take the edge off. Sutton jumps in the back seat, her hands shoot up, covering her head and she tucks it between her shoulders.

My heart breaks even further at seeing her reaction to the noise. I knew what she came from had to be bad. I just didn’t think it would be this bad. I don’t get how someone can put their hands on something so delicate. A fucking pussy is who.

I want to kick myself for not thinking of her. I clench the steering wheel as I turn the key in the ignition. The urge to hunt the piece of shit down is almost too much to take.

Whoever did this is dead.

Fucking dead.
