Chapter Eighteen

Soren

In love doesn’t begin to explain what I am—I am addicted to Talia. She is everything I’ve needed in this life, and all the ones before. I watch her for a moment to make sure she is asleep before stepping out of the room.

“Sorry for interrupting,” Vaughn says. “I see you two are getting along better.”

“Yeah,” I say. “Yeah, we are getting along great.”

“I’m glad, man,” Vaughn says with a genuine smile. No sarcasm or jokes.

“Greg here?” I ask.

“Yep. He’s down in the . He’s already cried twice."

“You fucked him, didn’t you?” I ask, chuckling as we walk down.

“Okay, the first time was Diego,” Vaughn argues. “The second time… That was definitely me.”

When we get to the basement, Greg is naked, bleeding, and strung up by his wrists in the center of the room. After seeing how terrified Talia was around Henry, I am not letting her do that to herself again.

I truly thought that I scared her until I saw how she changed around Henry.

She was absolutely terrified. The trauma with Greg is so new that I don’t think it’s a good idea for her to be around him while he is breathing.

I know I should let her make that choice, but I can’t.

I’ll let her sleep and wake her after so she can see that he is, in fact, gone.

“Has he said anything?” I ask Micah.

“Nope,” he says as he stands.

“You hurt my mate,” I say as I circle Greg.

“She’s an abom…” he starts to say as Micah punches him in the face, making his head snap back.

“I’ll tell you what, Greg,” I say as I walk over to the table and get the probe. It starts as a normal metal rod, but once it’s turned on, it sends electricity flowing through to whatever is touching it. “I should do many things to you, but instead…”

“What’s that? Wait, wait, wait!” he says, spitting out blood.

I walk around behind him and slowly push it into his ass.

He screams as I start shoving it inside of him, but I don’t stop.

His screams turn shrill, but I push it to the hilt and step back.

The end is where the cord starts and plugs into a specially wired outlet.

Vaughn walks over and waits for me to give him the signal.

“Please! I can tell you whatever you want to know. Anything!” Greg begs. “Please, please, please. I can help. You could take him down!”

“I choose justice for Talia,” I say simply, nodding to Vaughn. He shoves the plug into the outlet. His screams are ear-piercing when it begins to shock him. It’s made specifically to ensure it’s a slow and violent death.

Greg screams until his voice is raw and broken before his eyes roll back and he begins convulsing. It’s not until he is limp that I give the signal to shut it off, and his body is subtly smoking.

“Get rid of this scum,” I say, walking to the stairs. “I’m going to lie with my mate.”

When I get back to the room, I undress and lie next to Talia. She rolls and snuggles into me, so I kiss her head. “It’s done,” I murmur. “Greg is gone.”

Talia looks up and smiles sleepily at me. “Thank you,” she says softly.

“For what, Bunny?”

“For being the peace I needed in life,” she says before snuggling back into my chest.
