Chapter 5

Chapter Five

I tried not to panic when Mr Silver asked me to stay behind.

Harley sat beside me with his arm slung around my shoulders as he stared at the teacher with boredom.

"Mr Owen, I don't recall asking you to stay," Mr Silver said finally, lifting his eyes to Harley.

"Yeah, I know, but—"

"You can wait outside. Close the door after you."

Harley muttered that he would be right outside as he glared at Mr Silver. He sauntered over to the door, taking his sweet time about leaving. When the door finally closed, Mr Silver turned his attention to me.

He smelt so damn good.

"Jain, your mother has requested extra material for you. She also mentioned the possibility of a study buddy to help you along with your English studies."

I nodded, feeling embarrassed. Mr Silver continued to gaze at me with disinterest before walking to the front of the desk, leaning back on it as he removed his glasses.

I tried not to stare at his hypnotic green eyes or the thick dark lashes that framed them. He slid the arm of the glasses into his mouth as he studied me.

"The best option would be Zita Winfred," he began as I sighed dejectedly.

"Yes, Sir," I mumbled, staring once again at the floor.

I had to hope I didn't punch her in her smug little face.

"But seeing as it's your last year, maybe you would do better to have it with me."

My eyes flew to his face as my mouth fell open in surprise.

" You ?" I whispered as he frowned at me.

"Well, I'm pretty familiar with the subject." He snapped as I nodded.

"Oh, no. It's not that, it's just that my mum probably can't afford you—" I was mortified now. Not only was I challenged intellectually, but I didn't have much money.

"I see. Luckily, I am motivated more by your academic success than I am by money, Jain. But it will be every other day after school for the first three months. Forty-five minutes. We will evaluate from there. Agreed?"

"I'm sorry, I'm confused."

"It doesn't seem to take much," Mr Silver drawled, folding his arms as he gazed at me.

I blushed as I continued to speak.

"So, you don't want money?"

"No."

I wanted to hug him. I was so happy. It must've shown because he nodded.

"It starts today, so if you need to tell your parents—"

"Just my mum," I mumbled as he nodded.

"And your boyfriend. I'm not explaining myself to Mr Owen regularly."

"He's not— "

"Quite frankly, Jain, I don't care what he is to you. Just see to it that he doesn't assume you need physical support."

He turned away from me then, and I couldn't help but stare at his broad shoulders. I pulled my bag into my hand before walking past him.

"So, I come here at—"

"No, not here. You can come over to my house straight from school. Here's the address."

Mr Silver handed me a crisp piece of paper as I stared at him in shock.

His house?

He let out a sigh of exasperation, his eyes meeting mine.

"Is there a problem?"

"No, I just assumed it would be here."

"I can come to yours if you prefer?"

"No," I said quietly, taking the paper from his hands. "I'll come to yours after school."

"Alone," he added as I froze. Was he suggesting—

"If Harley comes, he can wait outside."

Oh, he meant like that . I shook my head, wondering what on earth I'd assumed he meant.

I walked outside, surprised to see Harley wasn't even there. Not that I cared overly. The whole corridor was empty, and I realised I was late for my next class. I knew Mr Silver could vouch for me, though, so I wasn't worried.

"Oh yeah, staying after class with the new teach, hmm?"

I couldn't help but smile when Arden walked up beside me, looking surprisingly happy.

"What's made you all jovial? Did Eloise give you a blowie in the loo?" I shot back as he threw his head back with laughter.

"You're not as innocent as you look, girlie. "

"Don't call me that."

"What, innocent?"

Arden pulled on my hand, whirling me around so that I was flush against him. He smelt faintly of cigarettes, but it was dominated by another smell—something woody and masculine.

"No, girlie ," I whispered as he tilted my head up, his lips hovering over mine.

"So, you are innocent?" Arden whispered as his lips brushed mine.

Kissing someone in the school corridor wasn't unheard of, but this was Arden Charter . He only kissed when he wanted to fuck . His tongue slipped in between my lips as I laid my hands around his neck, my fingers moving up to his scalp. The kiss quickly became urgent as he pressed me into the wall. "Do neither of you have classes to attend?" A voice snapped as I pushed Arden away. He continued to kiss my throat as I caught the judgemental eyes of Mr Silver.

"Uh, yes,. Sorry Sir, we were just—"

"Dry fucking," Arden declared, who had finally resurfaced for air.

My face flushed furiously as his hands slid around my waist.

"So I can see. Please don't infect the world with your offspring. It's bad enough as it is. Now go."

I stared at Mr Silver in disbelief when Arden laughed in his direction.

"Good looking guy like you Sir, can't think why you are sexually frustrated."

Arden pulled me away, his arm firmly around my shoulders.

"Dick," he muttered as I savoured the feeling of being in his arms.

No sooner had we turned the corner before he had me against the wall again, his mouth on mine. He pinned my hands to the wall beside me as he devoured my mouth expertly, my insides flipping over with delight when he groaned against me.

"You're fucking gorgeous, and I want you."

I let out a laugh when Arden arched an eyebrow, a smile playing on his lips.

"You want me ? How very primitive."

He grabbed my hand, pushing it onto his hard cock that was now straining through his jeans.

"You make me rock hard. You kiss better than I had imagined."

"Oh yeah? Well, you don't taste as bad as I imagined either."

"Come to mine after school."

His eyes burned into mine, and I knew what he wanted.

A fuck.

"Arden..."

"You're not that kind of girl. You don't do things like this, ever . I know,” he smirked, and I shook my head in disbelief.

"God, you're a confident fucker."

"It's just sex, darling."

Arden kissed me again, and I couldn't resist. He lifted my legs around his waist as I squealed, my bag dropping to the floor.

"I'll make a bad girl out of you yet."

"Put me down; I'm late for class..." I laughed as he gripped my ass cheeks with his fingers, pinching hard. "Ouch!"

"You loved that; look at you biting your lip."

I reached for him then, kissing him so hard our teeth smashed against each other. Suddenly I didn't care who saw us, and we lost ourselves kissing. It seemed like it was building up to something, and we were hitting a brick wall.

The bell rang, and Arden released me, letting my legs fall to the floor gently.

I noticed the people around us gazing at us suspiciously, knowing we had well and truly set tongues wagging.

"I've got a tutorial after school," I whispered as he pulled his phone out of his pocket, turning it to me.

"Put your number in there."

I did, biting my lip as he watched me hungrily when I heard a familiar voice.

"As if you missed science! What were you—"

Arden leaned down to kiss me hard on the mouth before squeezing my ass tightly.

"Check your phone."

With that, he walked away without once looking back.

"You and Arden? No. Absolutely not. He is—"

"A bad boy. I know. Hey Sarah, how are you?" I sighed as her mouth dropped open in shock.

Arden Charter was a force to be reckoned with.
