Chapter 4
Jed
Jed found himself in a predicament. What to do about Sadie? That was a tough question. There was so much baggage going on between the two of them that it was downright annoying.
First, before everything with the Phantoms went down, there was the lap dance that had fired up his dick in the worst way, and he’d been unable to do anything about it.
Second, there was the perceived connection to the Phantom Furies MC.
He, as well as the rest of the club, had thought she was cooperating with the rival club of her own free will to mess with the Sons.
It turned out that she was as much of a victim of their bullshit as they were.
They’d been holding her nephew over her head as a way to manipulate her.
Even worse, she’d been forced to fuck Darren after they drugged her.
Third, he’d gone to Taos with the intention of seducing her into giving him information as to where the Phantoms were keeping Darren.
To his utter frustration, he’d found out she didn’t know a thing.
He’d gotten angry and pushed the matter with her and ended up calling her a whore.
He’d since apologized for that, but it still hung between them.
Fourth, he’d cost her her job at Bottoms Up, and looking back, he should have put her on paid leave, and she wouldn’t have had to take a job at Big Dick’s.
So, yeah, he’d fucked that up royally. And because he felt bad that he’d put her in a bind, she was able to con him into babysitting Oliver two nights in a row until she found a permanent solution.
Yes, he was physically drawn to her and wanted to fuck her in the worst way.
He was convinced that if he fucked her a time or two, he’d get her out of his system, and he’d be able to move on and be satisfied with sweet butts and hangarounds again.
At least, that’s what he was hoping. Nothing serious could come of it because he didn’t do relationships.
Despite how appealing the other brothers made it look, he wasn’t sure he was the type to settle down.
He’d come close once, and that had ended badly.
With all that in mind, he still found himself coming to Big Dick’s every night for the last two weeks.
He would show up, have a few drinks, and flirt with Sadie.
He’d slowly been trying to seduce her. He was a little out of practice but thought things were going well.
He wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or bad that he was used to women falling into his bed with minimal effort on his part.
Both nights he’d babysat for Oliver, he’d kissed her as he left.
It had been satisfying seeing the effect he had on her.
She was one part confused, two parts determined to keep him at arm's length, and two parts aroused. So far, she hadn’t acted on her arousal.
He was hoping to change her mind tonight.
If that failed, he still had time to go back to the clubhouse and find a warm, willing woman to fuck.
He pulled the door to Big Dick’s open and was immediately swamped by loud rock music.
From the sounds of it, the band was really working the crowd.
He weaved his way through the crowd toward an empty bar stool at the opposite end of the bar.
Since he started showing up every night, Lenny, a Big Dick’s regular, saved him a stool at the bar.
From talking to the old guy, he discovered he liked to come in, have a beer and a shot, then go home and sleep like an angel.
His words, not Jed’s. As he approached, it looked like Lenny was running off someone wanting to take Jed’s seat.
He smiled and clapped a hand on Lenny’s shoulder.
“Thanks, my man, for saving my seat. Have I missed anything good?”
Old Lenny's smile split his face as he leaned toward him. “You missed Sadie hand some young buck his ass when he tried to grab her tit as she leaned on the bar. He’s lucky he was as drunk as he was, or I think she might’ve decked him.”
“Oh, yeah.” Jed looked around to see if he spotted the guy. “What did she do?”
“She grabbed him by the ear and jerked him around while she lectured him on appropriate and inappropriate touching. I thought she was going to rip his ear off. Then she waved his friends over and told them to take him home, or she was calling the cops.”
“I’m guessing they left?”
“Yeah. Big Dick came out of his office and escorted them personally to the door.”
“No shit?” For as long as Jed had been coming here, he didn’t recall Big Dick ever kicking someone out himself.
He had a couple of bouncers who worked here, but there were times they were both too busy to catch everything going on.
Like when Bellamy started a bar fight, and Race had to come pull her out before she did any real damage.
Lenny grinned and nodded. “Yep.”
Tony, the other bartender, came over and brought him a longneck without him having to ask.
He thanked him, then thought, damn. Was he a regular now, too?
He took a long pull and watched Sadie move around behind the bar.
She bent over a cooler and came up with a couple of cold bottles of beer.
He took another drink, and then a thought hit him out of the blue.
He couldn’t believe it had taken him so long to figure out why Lenny was so partial to this particular seat at the bar.
From where he sat, he had a clear view of Sadie’s ass as she worked.
“Lenny. You old dog. You sit here because you can watch Sadie’s ass while she’s working. ”
Lenny grunted, neither confirming nor denying. He raised his glass for a drink and grinned behind his mug.
He waited a beat, then asked Lenny, “Do you think I stand a chance with her?”
Lenny turned and gave Jed a top-to-bottom scan with a critical eye. “Eh,” he shrugged a shoulder. “You might do all right.”
Jed threw his head back and laughed. “Wow. I have a feeling that’s a rare compliment coming from you.”
“You’d be right.”
Tipping back his bottle, Jed watched Sadie smile and set some drinks on a waitress’s tray.
The woman had him tied in knots, and it was driving him nuts.
Speaking of the Devil, she sauntered over his way with a mesmerizing sway of her hips.
Her jeans were medium wash, and she wore a thick brown belt with a big silver buckle.
She had a white turtleneck tucked into her jeans that had a large keyhole from a little below the turtleneck collar and ended about halfway between her ample tits.
It gave an amazing view of her cleavage without being too trampy.
He liked it. A lot. He shuffled around on his stool, trying to find a more comfortable position, and told his dick it needed to calm down.
Sadie still had to work a few more hours.
“Hey, Jed. When did you get here?” She had one hand on her hip, and the other was tossing a towel over her shoulder.
“About one beer ago. Can I have another?” He waved his nearly empty bottle at her.
“Sure.” She went to the cooler to get his beer.
Jed had to bite back the groan that wanted to slip free.
Damn. What he wouldn’t give to get his hands on that ass.
To grip her hips in both hands and watch it bounce as he fucked her from behind.
This time, the growl broke free. He purposely drank bottles when he was here instead of the drafts he usually preferred, for this very reason.
Again, he couldn’t believe it took him so long to see why Lenny always sat here. “Here you go.”
“Thanks.” He winked at her and earned a smile.
As a part of Sadie’s seduction, Jed would stay until closing and then walk her to her car to steal some kisses. Warm, inviting, lingering kisses. The kind of kisses that left his dick hard and aching.
He wasn’t coming to Big Dick’s just to flirt with Sadie. He was also hanging out to make sure Tinker didn’t stumble upon her working here. After what happened to her at Bottoms Up, he wasn’t taking any chances. He even followed her to her apartment and made sure she got in safely.
With his focus on her yet again, he watched as she walked out from behind the bar and headed down the hall.
Jed guessed she was going to the stock room and decided it was time to give Sadie a dose of her own medicine.
“Watch my beer, Lenny.” He didn’t wait for his reply.
He followed the path she’d taken and came upon a door toward the back that was partially open.
He peeked around the door in time to see Sadie stretching to reach a bottle of vodka on a shelf just out of her reach.
She was stretched on her toes and feeling around blindly with her hand.
He silently closed the door behind him and turned the lock.
“You need help?”
“Ahhhh!” She jumped and spun around, her eyes wide. “You jackass! You scared the shit out of me.”
Jed fought not to laugh but ended up losing the battle. He held both hands at his sides, palms out, in case she thought to smack him for scaring her. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know you would get so scared that you’d squeal like a girl.”
“I am a girl, moron.” She slammed both hands on her hips, shooting daggers at him with her bright green eyes.
“Yes, you are.” He gave her a slow up and down.
“Jed, what are you doing back here?” She rolled her eyes at his lame line.
“Something has become crystal clear to me.” He moved closer.
“What’s that?” For every step forward he stalked her, she took one step back, obviously sensing something had changed tonight. Jed was done waiting. He was making his move.
He settled his hands on her shoulders and steered her so that he backed her into the wall between two shelves. He spun her around so that she was facing the wall, then grasped her wrists and put them on the wall a little above her head. “Leave your hands there.”
