Chapter 47
JASE
We’ve been going at it for hours. And I’m nowhere near ready to call it a night. I get unrestricted access to this female for the rest of my life, but right now I’m at it like it could end before I get to have my fill.
Tasting between her thighs is so fulfilling, the way watermelon quenches on a sweltering summer day.
Holding her luscious, round ass while I feast, listening to her panting my name while she’s on a ledge, dangling, ready to crash into another climax feels incredible.
She’s got my mark on her neck.
She smells like me.
She’s mine.
My mate.
My Bailey.
Finally.
Fucking finally.
Her legs shake with her climax and when she goes lax, I move up her body and suck her gorgeous tits, one after the other.
She whimpers, looking like she’s about to ask me to stop.
Her lips are swollen. She’s full of love bites on her torso, on her sweet ass, her right breast.
“You’re ready to pass out,” I tell her. “I should let you off the hook.”
“Mm,” is her reply.
“Should give you a break.”
She nods. “A little one, maybe, yep…”
“Naw… don’t think I will.”
She whimpers with a cute little pout.
“Okay, maybe a little one. But just a little one. After I come inside you again.”
“Mm hm. Okay,” she agrees, nodding fast, though her eyes are barely slits.
I’ve worn her out.
I’m the only one who’s ever done this to her. I’m the only one who will ever get to do this to her.
Fuck yeah…
It doesn’t take more than a few more strokes before I come again, hard, vision blurring, the wolf inside me howling.
I’m so fucking glad the bullshit is over. I get the good parts now. Smelling her. Touching her. Fucking her. Knotting her. Loving her.
She reaches for my face and scrubs my jaw slowly with her nails until her hand goes limp and she passes out.
I let out the biggest sigh of relief ever. And now my wolf wants out. Wants to howl at the moon. But not yet…
***
It’s late when the doorbell rings. Bailey is crashed on her belly, nude, her hair everywhere, my mate mark on her looking fresh and beautiful. She’s been asleep for about an hour.
I’m feeling a little tired, but I didn’t want to sleep, I wanted to watch her. Enjoy this quiet moment thinking about the fact that I know what the rest of my life is gonna look like.
I’ve been lying here smiling, happy, knowing that no matter what comes, I’ve got Bailey. Not only did Fate give her to me, I feel like, in a way, I’ve earned her. And it feels damn good.
I roll out of bed and look out the window seeing Bailey’s car in the driveway. Someone brought it over.
I smell food. Smells good. I could eat a twelve-point buck in a single sitting right now, I’m that starved. But I’m definitely too tired after all that to hunt one down, so it’s a good thing it’s not on me to hunt dinner for me and my mate tonight as it would’ve been way back whenever.
I pull the blanket over her and kiss her shoulder before pulling on some sweatpants.
I stop at the doorway and stare for a minute, putting my shoulder against the doorframe. I let the vision before me soak in for a good few minutes before I go downstairs.
Beyond an insulated bag from Roxy’s on the doorstep, there’s also the Quinn honeymoon basket along with a bottle of Quinn honeymoon mead chilling in a sparkled metallic beige ice bucket monogrammed with J & B Creed on it. Fuck yeah, I like that.
There’s also my bag from the cabin along with my shoes, wallet, and phone.
All this stuff has the faintest trace of Joel.
Nice. He saved us a trip. I sense he’s now feeling the pressure I felt when I did stuff for Rye and Grey right after they mated. I bet Linc is gearing up, though I doubt Linc’s nervous. I know from our recent talks he’s feeling beyond ready for this.
When I get back inside, she’s at the top of the stairs, wrapped in a sheet, looking sleepy, curious, and well-fucked, if I do say so myself.
“Food?” my mate asks.
“Yes. And a bottle of chilled wedding mead.”
She claps her hands excitedly and the sheet falls, pooling around her feet.
“Oops!” She squats to grab the sheet, wrapping it around herself with a level of modesty that’s frankly adorable.
I put the stuff in my hands on the floor and prowl up the stairs after her.
“Mrs. Creed, you’re fucking beautiful.”
She’s standing still, blushing and looking stunned for a split second before her face splits into the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen. It nearly sends me to my knees.
I get three or four steps away from her when she squeals and runs for the bedroom, dropping the sheet.
Oh yeah. Chasing.
I catch her immediately, scooping her up and falling into bed with her, reveling in the feel of a soft, warm, and naked Jase-scented Bailey Creed in my arms.
“You smell amazing,” I tell her.
“That’s because I smell like you,” she informs.
“You smell like us, right now. My favorite scent ever. I fuckin’ love that nobody’s seen this body but me.”
Her arms go around me.
“And even more… that nobody’s touched you the way I have.”
She presses a kiss to my jaw and threads her fingers into my hair.
She whispers, “I feel like the way you’ve been looking at me tonight… like it’s just for me. I’m hoping it’s true – like maybe you’ve never looked at another woman this way.”
“What other women? I can’t even conjure up a single memory that’s not vague. All of me is only for you. Nobody before you mattered. You matter.”
“I love you,” she whispers.
“Not as much as I love you.”
“Nuh uh. I’ve loved you this way my whole life. Well… except that now I love you even more.”
“But I can promise you I’m gonna love you in a way you’ll forget there was ever a time when I didn’t.”
“I look forward to that. Know what else is really awesome?” she asks.
“Tell me.”
“Your knot.” Her eyes widen and she giggles.
“Yeah,” I breathe. “Awesome is fuckin’ right.”
“And it’s all mine.”
“All yours,” I agree.
She giggles again.
“You like chasing games?” I ask.
“I dunno. I might,” she tells me with a grin.
“We’ll certainly find out,” I warn.
Her eyes light up with interest.
I blow out another relieved breath. “Thank you, baby. Thank you for saving all of this for me.”
“It could not have gone another way. Thank the moon, Fate, the universe… because it was meant to be like this.”
I want to throw a fucking party. I did this. I brought her back to me. Fuck, was it work, but I fuckin’ did it.
The party will wait. I’m not sharing her attention with anybody else any time soon.
She moves in for a kiss, hands running up and down my neck and shoulders.
I fall back as she straddles me, and I haul my sweatpants down enough to feel the silky, wet warmth between her legs against my length.
“Get me inside,” I rasp. “Hurry!”
Biting her bottom lip, she gets right to it, wincing as she gets the first inch inside. I hold her hips and watch her carefully, slowly get me fully seated inside her. She looks halfway between pleasure and pain. But fully eager.
Yeah. I get to teach her what I like. She seems like an enthusiastic student.
Immediately, my knot makes a reappearance, and fuck does it feel good. Incredible.
My knot does all the work while I get the beautiful view of her curves as she rides me. But the view doesn’t last as she falls forward, burying her face in my neck, crying out with a full-body tremble.
“Did you fall asleep again?” I whisper a few minutes later, running my index finger down her spine.
She shivers. “Not yet,” she replies, squeezing me tighter.
“Want food?”
“Very much,” she answers.
I roll her to her back, kiss her beautiful mate mark, and back away slowly, inking this image into my brain. The bed is a wreck, sheets half off, pillows and red petals all over the floor.
I love the look on her face as she watches me pull up my sweatpants and stretch, rolling my neck.
“Right back,” I tell her.
When I come back up, she’s sitting upright, her phone in her hand, her glasses on but down by the tip of her nose. She’s rubbing her eyes.
She puts it down when I come in and set the containers of food on the bed.
“Someone call?”
“A bunch of congratulations texts including some in the Creed family group chat. Gwen added me earlier today.”
“You answer?”
“I just put a heart emoji on everyone’s messages. Did you hear all of them outside, cheering for us? That was…” Tears well up in her eyes. “… amazing.”
I lean in and press my mouth to her forehead. “Yeah. That was pretty cool.” I kiss her lips, loving the expression on her face.
“What have we got?” she asks, taking her glasses off and rubbing her eyes some more.
“Smells like steak dinners. You’re not much for steak though.”
“Not usually, but it smells really good and I’m famished, so hopefully one of them is well done.
I’ll give it a look. If it’s too bloody, I’ll eat the side dishes.
Roxy’s loaded potatoes are in there too and they’re big enough to be a meal on their own.
” She puts her glasses back on. “My glasses are making me dizzy,” she mutters and takes them off.
“Weird,” she whispers, looking around. “It’s like I don’t need them. Feels like my contact lenses are in.”
“You’re not squinting at me. I’ll go get the wine.”
While I’m jogging down the stairs it dawns that I haven’t purred. An alpha generally purrs after he claims his mate. I claimed mine repeatedly over the past few hours, but it hasn’t happened yet.
As I’m climbing the stairs with the two wine glasses I took from the basket Mase’s mom sent over and the ice bucket of chilled Quinn mead, I hear a high-pitched noise that throws me.
My nostrils flare but I smell no one new.
“Arf!”
What the fuck.
“Rrrr. Arf!”
I rush the rest of the way upstairs and just about trip when I see the bed.
There’s a wolf pup, a young female, staring down at the striploin steak on the rug.
This pup smells like Bailey. And me.
“The fuck?”
The pup yips at me and licks blood from the take-out container. The steak on the floor is chewed on one end.
