20. Chapter 20 Coming Undone

Jenna: December

My newly renovated office and warm yellow walls glow in the evening light. Everyone else left an hour ago, but I’m not ready to go home. Dylan’s work is etched in every corner. And in a few days, he’ll be gone.

I keep telling myself that’s a good thing. But is it?

The door opens, and it’s him—messy hair, toolbox in hand, and that smirk that makes it impossible to breathe.

“Long day?” His voice is casual, but there’s something unspoken beneath it.

“I could ask you the same.” My voice is light, unaffected.

He steps closer.

“It never feels long when I’m around you.” His words are thick with meaning. “I’m going to miss working here.”

God, I don’t want him to leave. I don’t want to lose the way he calms my nerves and lights me up with his contagious laugh. I drop my gaze, fingers fidgeting with the pen in front of me.

“I’m sure everyone’s going to miss your raunchy jokes… and your smile.” I try to sound indifferent, but I know my face says something else.

His grin deepens, slow and knowing. “Everyone? Or only you?”

I swallow hard, clutching the pen. “Well… I guess I should thank you for making my office dreams come true, as promised.” A weak deflection, and he knows it. But it doesn’t make it any less true.

Dylan inches closer, and my pulse hammers. “I’m not sure my work here is done yet. There’s still one thing left to fix.”

“Oh?” My voice wavers. “And what’s that, Mr. Hayes?”

“This.” His rough, calloused hand slides into mine. His touch igniting a fire that burns all the way down between my thighs, threatening to crush my world as I know it.

“Fixing the tension between us.”

My breath stutters. “Dylan…”

His eyes lock onto mine. “Every time you look at me like that, it makes me fucking crazy. Do you have any idea what you do to me?”

“Don’t say that,” I plead. “Please… stop talking.” My resolve crumbles like fragile glass.

His fingers trail up my arm. “Don’t tell you how much I want you?

How you terrify me in ways I never saw coming?

How you’re the first woman I’ve ever wanted to give everything to?

” He groans. “Fuck, all I think about is making you come apart, hearing you moan my name as I touch you, taste you, ruin you in the best possible way.”

I squeeze my eyes shut, every muscle in my body trembling with restraint. “I can’t. Please... please don’t tempt me.”

When I open them, he’s moving toward the door. I hope he’s leaving. Fuck, no. I hope he stays. The sharp click of the lock slices through the silence. When he turns back, his gaze burns into mine.

“If I can’t have you,” he murmurs. “Let me watch you come undone, trembling for me. Just from my filthy words and your own touch.”

A pulse of heat shoots through me. He takes a seat on my chair, slightly spreading his legs like he’s in complete control.

“Take off your clothes,” he commands, voice thick with desire. “Slowly.” His confidence is magnetic, impossible to resist. “One piece at a time. Let me admire every inch of you. Because, Jenna, you deserve to be admired every single damn day.”

My heart is pounding. I don’t have a sexy bone in my body. I’m a mother. I’m clumsy. I’m ordinary.

But fuck…. when I’m with him? I disappear. Jenna disappears. And I become someone else. Someone fearless.

My fingers tremble as I undo my buttons one by one, pausing halfway down. But then he looks at me with this raw hunger, and I see the unmistakable bulge straining against his jeans.

My dress slips off my shoulders before pooling at my feet. I’m left in black lace panties and the push-up bra I once thought was a ridiculous indulgence. Not tonight though. Not here.

“Jesus Christ,” he mutters, his eyes dark with need. “You’re killing me. Why the hell don’t you wear that to work every day?”

My breath hitches.

Dylan leans back, his legs stretched out like he owns every inch of this space—and me.

I unhook my bra, my breasts and needy, hard nipples exposed. All the insecurities vanish under his gaze. I feel desirable.

“I knew you were beautiful,” he says, his voice rough. “But like this? You’re fucking breathtaking. Sit down. Take off those panties. Spread those gorgeous legs and unravel for me.”

My pulse pounds, every nerve alive with anticipation. His words strip me bare as I stand here feeling more vulnerable and exposed than my naked body.

Stripping down to my black high heels, I lie on the fur lounge chair. My body trembles against the soft fabric brushed against my skin.

“Touch yourself like you dream of me touching you,” he grunts.

“God, I’ve dreamed of your hands on me a thousand times,” I whimper.

“Imagine them gliding over your breasts,” he murmurs, voice low and dirty. “My mouth teasing your nipples. My fingers rubbing your sexy, wet clit, tasting how sweet you are until you can’t take it anymore.”

My body responds instantly, following the path his words paint. I follow his instructions, each one making me wetter than the next. I cup my breast, my hand drifting lower, chasing the high he gives me.

“Spread wider… show me how wet you are for me, Jenna,” he says, gripping the chair, barely holding himself back. And it pushes me to keep going.

I slide a finger inside myself, gasping at the sensation. My other hand squeezes my hardened nipple.

“That’s it. Add as many as you need,” he groans, his jaw clenched. “Fucking hell, you’re beautiful. Watching you is heaven—and pure fucking hell. I should be on my knees, tasting you, making you scream my name.”

My voice shakes with need. “Please, don’t stop. Don’t stop telling me how much you want me.” I rub myself harder, faster. My moans getting louder and louder.

“I won’t stop. But be a good girl.” His voice dips lower. “Stay quiet, unless you want everyone to know how badly you want me,” he growls, unbuttoning his jeans, and it makes me feral.

“My cock aches to be deep inside you. Add another finger, play with both your pretty little holes,” he orders. His hand rubs himself underneath his boxers, eyes never leaving mine.

I do exactly as he says, pulling one wet finger out of me, slowly teasing my other tight hole. It feels as forbidden as this moment, something I’ve never done on my own. The sensation as I enter in and out of myself with Dylan watching me is enough to wreck me.

“Look at me, Jenna.” His voice is ragged, demanding. “Look what you do to me.” He slowly strokes himself.

I gasp at the sight of him. Long. Curvy. Rock-hard for me.

“Now, imagine my lips on yours, my cock rubbing your clit until you’re begging for more.” His breath is heavy, his strokes matching my rhythm.

He moves closer, dropping to his knees beside me on the floor. The closeness makes me spiral faster, the tension pushing me toward the edge.

“Come for me, Jenna,” he grunts, his mouth barely brushing my ear. “Let me see every drop of pleasure dripping out of you, knowing it’s all for me.”

The intensity of his gaze… the heat radiating from his body… the raw fucking need in his voice undoes every last thread.

“I want to bend you over that desk and fuck you breathless until you forget your own fucking name,” he murmurs, stroking himself faster and faster. “I want your nails digging into my back as you beg me to fuck you harder, deeper.”

I whimper as every fucking sensation crashes over me, and I surrender to the moment.

“Dylan… yes… please… oh my God,” I gasp, exposing parts of myself I never knew existed.

His control snaps as he watches me come apart. He lets out a primal growl, and his release spills into his hand. It ruins me.

I bite my lip, holding back the moans threatening to escape me. My body shakes uncontrollably as I follow him over the edge.

He smirks, then presses a soft kiss to my temple. “Now imagine what it’d feel like if I touched you, if you had all of me inside you.”

I shove him playfully, and he falls back laughing, the sound warm and entirely too pleased with himself.

“Never with that laugh,” I tease, throwing him a box of Kleenex. “I’d be too focused on making fun of you.”

His grin widens as he zips his pants. “As long as you’re laughing, I’m totally cool with that. You deserve so much laughter… and many, many, many more orgasms.”

He takes my hand to help me up, his thumb brushing my knuckles. And I know he feels the electricity buzzing through us too.

But the second I put my dress back on, the bold woman who took over my body vanishes.

“Dylan,” I start, my voice firmer. “I don’t know what we just did—or started—but it cannot happen again.

Nothing happened, okay? I gave myself the best orgasm of my life, and you…

you accidentally watched. Your stupid, handsome face and charm got the better of me, but no more,” I say.

“No more,” I repeat. “Do you hear me, Dylan?”

“Yes, ma’am. Loud and clear. No more life-changing orgasms.” His eyes flicker with amusement. “Only if you tell me the story behind your tattoo? Those birds…” His eyes trail across my chest. “It’s mesmerizing. Like you.”

I glance away, searching for my phone. “It’s a reminder.” My voice is shaky. “A promise I made a long time ago. Nothing you need to know.”

His dimples deepen. “So, extinct birds, like my laugh? Or fate—because you knew one day you’d meet a ridiculously hot guy with a bird laugh?”

“Wow. You’re smooth!” I chuckle.

“It worked, didn’t it?”

“Shit,” I mutter. Three missed calls and a text flashes on my screen.

Jacob : Jinx! REALLY? Did you forget about parent-teacher interviews tonight at 7:30????

“Jinx?” Dylan questions, reading over my shoulder. “Four question marks? Think he made his point.”

I sigh, reaching for my underwear on the floor. Dylan bends down with me, and our heads knock together.

“Sorry,” we both blurt out. Then at the same time, “Jinx.”

He rubs his forehead, grinning. “Seriously, why does your husband call you Jinx?”

Where do I begin? The broken arms? The kitchen fires? The past I’ve worked so hard to bury?

“I’m a klutz in case you haven’t noticed,” I say, flustered. “And I need to go.”

“I noticed.” He smiles. “And I love every single one of your adorable, clumsy moments. When we first met and you crashed into me… I knew I wanted more of you.” He hesitates. “You’re almost… the most perfect woman I’ve ever met.”

I pause, stunned.

“Dylan, I… I need to go.” I step back, bumping into the desk. But I can’t stop myself. “What makes me almost perfect?”

His eyes darken. “You’re not mine.”
