Chapter 34
MITCH
I’d thought that once the claiming was done, it was done.
Not that I was complaining per se, because the sex we’d just had was hawt with a capital H.
And while it had been a surprise to find the butt plugs and rope there, I sure as hell made sure I’d carried those home in a bag along with the remainder of that ginormous bottle of lube.
It had allowed us both to explore parts of ourselves we might never have thought to broach.
I shivered. Jolar was vers, for sure, but he definitely seemed to prefer being submissive in bed.
Which was fine by me - I’d relished being the dominant one, and watching him fly had been a privilege I never could have imagined happening to me.
Not that I was going to run out and buy myself a leather harness and assless chaps for Jolar or anything.
I blushed, just imagining Neal getting nosy and finding those in our closet. Yep, that was a hell naw.
Though Jolar would own those chaps, I thought, just a bit wistfully.
The best part of watching Jolar come out of subspace was how relaxed he was.
The signs pointed to stress at work playing on fears he had about protecting our family from monsters like that evil Takahashi woman.
Rationally, he knew we were completely safe, but with mating hormones running high, his body wasn’t listening.
Not until after, anyways, and I’d done that.
I’d owned him so thoroughly that he knew he could leave our safety in my capable hands when he wasn’t near. I felt proud of that, too.
I hummed as I laid out clean, casual clothes for the both of us on our bed.
We had just over six hours before Neal came home, so as long as we didn’t soak for over an hour, we had time to catch a shuttle and have lunch at one of the eateries on the leisure ship.
I wanted to get a good poke around in the clothes section, see what fun stuff might fit Neal and if they had any cool T-shirts that would fit me.
Some clothes suitable for Jolar to wear during a beach honeymoon and while cruising might be handy too, but I had a feeling I might not find any of that. Still, looking was half the fun.
“The water is ready,” Jolar called out, and I quickly shucked off my clothes. He was disrobing as well, and I admired the way the muscles in his back moved. I palmed my cock, willing it to go down.
Think disgusting things. Umm, Granny’s old bras flapping on the line. Wads of chewing tobacco getting spat out. That last one did it. My dick practically curled up and died at the thought. Chewing tobacco was not sexy.
Jolar climbed in, gesturing for me to get in on the other side.
I stepped in between his legs and moaned at the delicious warmth.
“Oh, this is just the right temperature.” I sank in gratefully, hissing a little under my breath as my sensitive hole twinged from the feel of the water and the herbal stuff in it.
I leaned back, closing my eyes as he arranged my legs over to the top of his, picking up one of my feet and starting a foot rub.
“You definitely know how to romance a guy,” I said.
He merely hummed a little in reply. I basked in the touch of his hands and the warmth seeping into my aching muscles for several minutes. “Unnghh, feels so good I almost want to sleep. “ I sighed. “Xero, please cue up my bookmarked assignment.”
Xero began to read it to me, a nearby wall displaying images from the text, showing common pieces of Mylos equipment I’d see around the sickbay and such. By the time Jolar finished rubbing my other foot, my homework was done.
“That’s it?” I said in surprise. “Xero, there’s nothing else?’
“Nothing at all. Only the introduction was bookmarked and I’ve marked it complete. You should be more than ready for tomorrow’s orientation.”
“Yeah. That seemed pretty easy to remember.” I was feeling lots of positive vibes about tomorrow.
With Xero’s assistance and my one on one tutoring session with the chief medic and his assistants, I was certain I’d pass this course with flying colors.
It was almost ridiculous how everything was coming up roses for me - from this course, to getting to have Jolar, and becoming Neal’s Dad.
And now you’re the one getting anxious about something going wrong because everything is so perfect. No more negative waves!
“Come on, let’s wash up and get out. I don’t know about you, but I’m starving. If we hurry, we can catch a shuttle and have lunch out.”
Jolar didn’t need any more encouragement than that to help hurry things along, though he did make me bend over to apply ointment on my ass. Which was sweet, but unnecessary. The soak had done an admirable job of soothing things down there.
“What would you like to eat?” Jolar asked as we walked into the shuttle bay.
“Anything as long as it’s food and I didn’t have to cook it. How about we look at what there is and decide then?”
The result of this was we found ourselves inside a little cantina style place eating some really delicious freshly made tamales and sipping a margarita each. We’d promised ourselves just the one, with chilled bottles of Mexican Coke for after.
“Mm, this is so good,” I said, shoveling another bite into my mouth.”
“We should bring Neal next time,” Jolar replied. “He loves tacos.”
“We should get a to go order of their homemade tortilla chips and queso to take home. We can all munch on it while we watch a movie before he goes to bed,” I suggested.
“Not Lilo and Stitch.”
I laughed. “Yeah, no. I was thinking of another old school one. Maybe The Shaggy DA, it kind of has a dog in it. Well, it does have a dog in it, but it’s not a real dog. You know what? You’ll get it when you watch it.”
He shrugged. “I’ll trust you to pick.”
“Why that’s very good of you, kind sir,” I said, raising my glass in a toast. He clinked his against mine, eyes dancing.
I took a mental snapshot, wanting to hold this moment forever.
It was everything I’d dreamed of when I thought about having a relationship, and now that I had it, I was going to treasure every single moment.
