Chapter 36

CHAPTER 36

KINSLEY

The door swings open and we stumble into the quiet shop, tripping over each other as we try to get inside without breaking our connection.

His arm lifts, slamming the door closed and I hear the faint click of the lock. I slide my hands over his shoulders and down his arms, interlocking our fingers before I all but drag him to the stairs.

A squeak slips out between kisses when my foot misses a step and I go hurtling towards the unforgiving hardwood, but Jace is there. His arm bands around my waist, pulling me tight against his chest.

“I gotcha,” he whispers, huskily.

I giggle, looking up into his usually bright eyes now turned dark by lust. Stepping back, I perch on a step higher so we are face to face and wrap my arms around his shoulders.

He smiles as I pull him in for another kiss. It breaks on a squeal when he slips his hands under my thighs and lifts. I laugh as he takes the stairs practically two at a time before pressing us against my flat’s door.

His hand on the back of my head slides back to my jaw and tilts as he swipes his tongue over my lips. My back arches and he groans into the kiss when I roll my hips.

“Keys,” he rushes out between soul shattering kisses.

I wave my hand blindly with my bag, but freeze when it clatters to the ground.

“Bag?” he asks breathlessly.

“Bag,” I confirm.

He smirks, pulling away from the door with me still in his arms. I cling to him with a laugh when he bends over, swiping up my bag and handing it to me. I fumble with the zipper, thrusting my hand inside and pulling my keys out with a cry of victory.

We crash through the door and he kicks it shut with his foot before my back meets the wood a second later. I arch into him, my fingers threading through his hair and he moans when I tug on the strands slightly.

He pulls back until our eyes meet. “Are you sure?”

The world around us fades as a vision flashes in my mind. It’s him… but it’s not? The same words echoing as he looks down at me with overwhelming affection.

I blink and the image fades, leaving behind a concerned looking Jace. “Angel? Are you sure about this?”

I nod, flexing my fingers in his thick hair as I lean in a whisper against his lips, “I’m sure.” He kisses me and I pull back so he can see the sincerity in my eyes as I say, “I want you.”

A breath rushes out of him and he smiles as he lays his forehead against mine. “Sweetheart, I’ve been yours for far longer than you know.”

His lips are back on mine in an instant and I whimper when he thrusts his hips forward. My legs tighten around his waist as his hands snake under the hem of my dress.

“Bedroom,” I gasp between kisses.

He pulls us away from the door and carries me down the short hallway, all the while his lips never leave mine. The door ricochets off the wall when he kicks it open and I look over my shoulder.

A giggle bursts out of me. “Wrong door.”

“What?” he asks dazedly, tilting his head to look over my shoulder.

“Last time I checked, I don’t sleep in the tub,” I whisper, kissing his cheek.

I gasp when his hand comes down on my arse and he growls, nipping at my neck.

Spinning on his heel, he pushes the door at the end of the hall open and drops me on the bed. I laugh breathlessly as I bounce against the soft duvet and lean up on my elbows.

I watch as he walks back towards the door, closing it before turning to me. The only light in the room is the lamp on my bedside table and it casts the room in a warm glow.

He leans back against the door and my skin tingles with his stare. Slowly, I slip off the bed and walk over to him until there’s no space between us.

His eyes don’t stray from mine and I tilt my head back to hold them, my chest brushing his. I reach for the hem of his shirt and he helps me lift it over his head.

I break away from his gaze, taking in his toned chest and defined abs. Leaning in, I place a kiss on his heated skin, reveling in the feel of his heart racing under my lips.

His hand slips over my jaw, tilting my head up and I loop my arms around his neck as our lips crash together. I walk backwards as he guides us to the bed, squealing when we fall back on it. He catches himself with a low chuckle, hovering above me with a smirk

“Hi,” I whisper, tracing my finger over his temple.

He leans down, placing a soft kiss against my lips. “Hi.”

Pressing up to standing, he drops to his knees and I lean up on my elbows, watching him unlace my shoes before slipping them off and kissing the inside of each ankle.

I frame his face with my hands, dragging his lips to mine as I reach for his belt. Together we slowly strip each other until there’s nothing separating us.

I shiver under his touch as we lay back on the bed, him propped over me with an arm on either side of my head. My hands drift up his sides, and over his chest.

He leans down, brushing his lips over mine. The move causes him to shift and his hard—good lord— long cock swipes over me, teasing my clit.

I moan into the kiss, nipping at his lip. My fingernails score his back as I run my hands down to his arse. He groans, pulling back slightly when he thrusts forward, rubbing himself against me.

“Shit,” he slurs. “I’m not even inside you yet and I’m already on the very edge.”

I giggle and reach down between us, wrapping my hand around him. He sucks in a breath, groaning and I smile, pumping up and down his shaft.

My body responds to his, my back arching as his hand runs down my stomach. His fingers brush over my clit and he swallows my moan, his tongue diving between my lips.

I release him, grasping the sheets as he brings me to the brink.

“That’s it, sweetheart. Let go for me.”

“Jace,” I whisper, reaching up and pulling his head down for a deep kiss as wave after wave of pleasure rolls through me.

The room fills with my heavy breaths when he pulls back and I slowly open my eyes to look up at him. He watches me, a myriad of emotions flitting over his face.

“Beautiful,” he whispers.

My lips part but nothing comes out.

“What’s going through that head of yours, angel?”

I sigh, lifting my hand to brush his hair off his forehead. “Just trying to wrap my brain about why it feels this way with you.”

“What way?”

“Right.” I push up, brushing my lips against his. “It all feels so right with you.”

His cups my jaw, tilting until our eyes meet. “Because this is where we belong.”

All I can do is nod because I’ll never be able to find the words to explain how there isn’t a part of me that doesn’t feel the same way. From the moment I bumped into him in the hallway on my first day, I’ve felt this pull.

Like this was where I was meant to be. And he was who was meant to be there with me.

He brushes my hair off my forehead and I feel him tense as he traces the small scar decorating my hairline with his thumb. His eyes fill with heartache as his voice cracks on a whisper. “What happened?”

I reach up, soothing my hands over the sides of his face, trying to ease the lines of pain. “The doctors said it was an accident. I had a bad head injury that required them to put me in a medically induced coma for a couple days. When I woke up, I couldn’t remember anything from the two years before, let alone whatever happened to me.”

He drops his forehead to mine. “I’m so sorry.”

“I’m okay,” I whisper, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. “I’m here.”

He pulls me into another kiss and I wrap my arms around his waist when he pulls me to him, until there’s no space between us.

His leg bends until mine hooks over his hip as he thrusts forward. I gasp, dropping my head back against the pillow at the sensation of his shaft running over my already sensitive clit.

He drops down, kissing, nipping, and licking at my neck. My fingers dive into his hair and I use the hold to pull his mouth back to mine.

His head notches at my entrance and I whimper, my hips rolling. He groans as he slips in an inch before pulling back. My hands slip down his sides and around his lower back, my nails scoring his skin.

“Fuck,” he grits into our kiss as he presses forward until he’s fully seated and my breath rushes out of me as I adjust to his size. “Are you okay?”

I hum, nodding as I smile at him. “I’m perfect.”

“Yeah,” he whispers, tucking my hair behind my ear, “You are.”

He leans down, taking my mouth with his as he pulls his hips back before sliding into me again. With each roll he brushes my clit just as he hits a spot deep inside me, making me see stars. His hand slips between us and I moan.

“Give me another.”

My fingers flex on his back, my head tilting back as I cry out his name. He works me through my release and I open my eyes in a daze.

He’s watching me, a look of victory in his gaze. “I’ll never get over the sight of you coming with my name on your lips.”

My laugh breaks on a moan when my sensitive core clenches around him. He groans, his hips moving faster. Harder.

I arch my back, my nails digging into his skin. The room fills with the sounds of our moans, of slapping skin, and the headboard meeting the wall.

“Jace,” I breathe as another climax builds.

“I’ve got you, sweetheart.”

He leans back on his knees, lifting my hips off the bed and my legs to his shoulders. The new position drives him deeper and I cry out.

“Fuck, you’re so tight.”

“Deep,” I gasp.

“Too much?”

I shake my head, my heavy eyes meeting his heated ones. “More.”

He smiles. “You want more, angel?”

I nod, tracing his abs with greedy fingers. “I want it all.”

The shift is instant, dominance exploding off of him as a growl vibrates through his chest. “Place your hands on the headboard, sweetheart.” I do as I’m told, arching my back on a gasp when he thrusts into me. “You want it all?” he rushes out.

My moan breaks on a shriek when he reaches out, pinching my nipple. My eyes shoot to his and he smooths a thumb over the stinging skin.

“Words, angel.”

“Yes,” I rush out. “I want all of you, Jace Collins.”

He turns his head, his lips brushing my ankle as he says, “You have all of me, Kinsley Jones. Always have.”

His hands drop to my waist and he pulls back before slamming into me. My arms lock, bracing against the headboard as I suck in a breath at the sensation. He smiles, repeating the movement and the room fills with a mix of grunts and moans.

“I want one more, sweetheart.”

“I can’t?—”

He slips a hand between my legs, swirling his thumb around my clit and I whimper. “Yes, you can.”

My body shakes as ecstasy swirls in my core.

Good lord, he’s right.

I reach for him as the first wave crests. “I need you.”

He drops my legs from his shoulders, collapsing on top of me and crashing his lips to mine. I cling to him as he moves, crying out when my climax slams against me.

He props himself up on his forearms, thrusting in once, twice. His moan caresses my ear as he comes and I take a mental picture at the sight of his powerful form flooded with ecstasy.

“You were right. I’ll never get over the sight of you coming with my name on your lips,” I echo his words.

He chuckles under his breath, dropping down and taking my mouth with his. I hum into the kiss as his fingers brush along my jaw.

“Are you okay?”

I nod, kissing his jaw. “I’m perfect.”

He leans down and kisses me softly before rolling out of bed and disappearing into the bathroom. He’s back a moment later, sliding on his boxer briefs.

I slip his T-shirt on and smile when I catch him staring.

“What?”

“Just thinking about how I can get rid of all your clothes without you getting mad at me.”

“Why?” I laugh as he slides into bed, pulling me against him.

“Because I love the sight of you in mine so much more.”

I giggle as he rolls onto his back, taking me with him. I lay my head on his chest and close my eyes to the steady beat of his heart.

His arm tightens around my waist and I tilt my head, looking up at my favorite shade of blue.

“Thank you,” he whispers.

“For what?”

“For finding me.”

My head pulses and a vision of him looking down at me flashes in my mind. But instead of him saying the words, it’s my broken voice whispering them.

“Kinsley?” I blink, Jace’s face etched in worry coming back into focus. “What’s wrong?”

I place my hand over his when he cups the side of my face.

“I’m okay. Just a sense of déjà vu is all.”

His thumb brushes over my cheek. “You’ve been having a lot of those lately.”

I hum, kissing his chest. His hand drops, fingers tickling my skin through his shirt. “Must be a glitch in the matrix.”

He groans, tilting his head towards the ceiling. “Lord, you’ve sent me the perfect woman!”

I smile, tucking my face into his chest. He rolls us until I’m on my back with him hovering over me. He looks down at me before leaning down and nipping at my lips.

“You’re such a goof,” I laugh.

“You like me anyway,” he hums, settling his full weight on me.

“I do,” I whisper, running my fingers through his hair as my heart races with something that feels a whole lot bigger than just ‘like.’
