Chapter 4

Over the next week, things had only gotten worse.

He’d never been so frustrated in his life.

His bodyguard was driving him crazy.

God, his fucking bodyguard—or rather, hisglorified babysitter-slash-jailer. Summers wasthe most infuriating man Gadiel had ever met. No matter what Gadiel tried, he couldn’t shake him. No amount of threats or complaints worked; Summers just gave him an infuriatingly blank, unimpressed look and refused to fuck off, sticking to him like glue and not allowing him to even talk to other men, even though Gadiel honestly had no intention of hooking up with them.

In a cruel twist of irony, the asshole was the hottest man Gadiel had ever seen.

Gadiel couldn’t believe his brother had thought it was a good idea to hire a man who looked like that as the bodyguard of his sexually frustrated gay brother. Not that Gadiel was into Summers, but he was gay and he possessed eyes. The man was incredibly distracting. Zain was a fucking sadist.

Thankfully, Summers had the personality of a brick, so that made things easier. Summers also seemed to belong to the rare category of men who were completely, one hundred percent straight. He hadn’t even batted an eye when he’d walked in on Gadiel while he was naked—Summers’s handsome face had remained as unflappable as ever.

For some reason, that bothered Gadiel. And it bothered him that it bothered him. He’d never subscribed to the notion that everyone must find him attractive. Will Summers didn’thaveto find him attractive. It was absolutely fine that in his bodyguard’s eyes he might as well be a wrinkled grandma. Gadiel wasn’t interested in him anyway.

Gadiel was actually a little bit in love with someone else.

Or at least hethoughtso. It wasn’t as though he had much experience with relationships and love. But he thought that he might be a little bit in love with Scott. He’d met him just last week, so Gadiel couldn’t be certain about his feelings, but Scott was every bit as gorgeous as Gadiel’s infuriating bodyguard was. He totally was more gorgeous, Gadiel corrected himself mentally.

Scott Palmer was everything he wanted in a man: tall, handsome, and charming, with a beautiful smile and kind, mischievous eyes. He was also rich—it wasn’t something Gadiel actually cared about, but it was reassuring to know that he couldn’t possibly be after Gadiel’s family’s money. Scott was also eight years older than him, which was perfect, since Gadiel had always been attracted to older men. (He was well aware that Freud would have had something to say about it, considering his absent, harsh father and domineering older brothers, but Gadiel had just accepted it like he’d accepted his hair color and rolled with it. He liked what he liked; sue him.)

He and Scott had hit it off instantly when they had literally stumbled into each other at Gadiel’s favorite restaurant. It was such a meet-cute moment, like something out of a movie. But because of Zain’s constant surveillance, they hadn’t been able to actually do anything together. They’d just strolled around and talked. And flirted. Gadiel had never been so into any man. But when he’d brought him home for the first time, Zain had nearly caught them together and lost his shit. Ugh. Such a cockblock.

And now, with his infuriating bodyguard watching his every move like a hawk, Gadiel wasn’t sure how he was even supposed to see Scott, much less be certain about his feelings for him.

The situation called for drastic measures. He needed to get rid of Summers, and fast.

The problem was, he didn’t have much time. Scott had mentioned that he was in Dubai only temporarily and might leave any day— if something doesn’tkeep me here , he had added with an entirely charming wink.Gadiel had to become that something.

At the back of his mind, a voice whispered that it was desperation driving him into Scott’s arms, not love.

Gadiel quashed it. Scott was very attractive and charming. And most importantly, Scott wanted him. Scott might even love him a little. Scott could be his ticket out of this country. To freedom.

Will Summers was the biggest obstacle to that.

He had to get rid of him.

After a week of endless frustration and deliberation, Gadiel finally settled on the tactic that had served him well if he wanted to get rid of a bodyguard he didn’t like: being as over-the-top gay and provocative as he could possibly be. In Gadiel’s experience, straight people who were often “perfectly fine with gay people” stopped being so fine if the homos got up close and personal.

Gadiel decided to put his plan into action the very next morning.

When he heard the sound of Will’s bedroom door opening, he quickly kicked the sheets off him and stretched out in his bed before trailing his hand down his naked chest and wrapping it around his morning wood. He stroked it slowly, keeping his eyes closed.

There were footsteps approaching his bedroom. Good thing he’d left the door open.

Gadiel let out a moan, his hand stroking his hard cock. “Oh Will,” he moaned out—not too loudly so it would sound fake but loud enough to be heard just outside his bedroom.

The footsteps halted.

“Ah,” Gadiel gasped out. “Will, oh yeah—” Part of him wanted to laugh at the ridiculous porn sounds he was making, but he couldn’t deny that it was kind of... titillating, too. It felt deliciously naughty to do this while his stuffy, far-too-handsome and straight bodyguard stood just outside his door.

A moan slipped out of his mouth, this time not entirely fake. He stroked his cock faster, imagining Will’s stony, unimpressed face. God, fuck him. Gadiel couldn’t wait to get rid of him and his ridiculous face and ridiculous body. Seriously, Will was like a fucking robot, not a single emotion on his face. He probably fucked like one too, all precise and methodical, his cock thrusting at a steady, boring rhythm as he had some poor woman in the missionary position. Then again, Will was a judgmental, self-important ass, so he was probably a selfish lover. He probably folded those poor women in half and just dicked into them, hard and fast, taking his own pleasure, using them as a wet hole for his thick, massive cock—

Gadiel came all over his hand and stomach.

He opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling, panting. He... he hadn’t thought about his bodyguard while he jerked off... right?Right? And even if he had, people thought about all sorts of things when they jerked off.And it wasn’t as though he’d imagined Will fucking him . So it didn’t count. Besides, Will kind of looked like Scott; that must have been why his mind got... confused for a moment.

Yes, that must have been it.

“If you’re quite done, you’re supposed to be at the charity event,” said a familiar voice. “Five minutes ago.”

Gadiel sat up and turned toward the voice.

Will was leaning against the doorway, his ever-present inscrutable expression firmly in place. As always, he was dressed impeccably in a dark suit, tall and handsome and perfectly put together. His perfect bodyguard. Ugh, something about his perfection made Gadiel’s fingers itch with the urge to ruin it. He would love to make Will lose his composure for once.

“I didn’t know you were my PA,” Gadiel said, arching his back as he stretched.

Will didn’t even glance at his naked body.

Gadiel nearly scowled. Surely no man was this straight?

“I’m not your PA,” Will said in the same dry voice. “But I’ve been given your schedule, because I’m your bodyguard and I’m supposed to be where you are supposed to be. Which is not here.”

“Fine, give me five minutes to shower and then we can go,” Gadiel said, slipping out of the bed and heading to the ensuite. He might or might not have swayed his hips a little, but when he glanced over his shoulder, Will wasn’t looking at him at all.

Gadiel pursed his lips and entered the bathroom.

In the shower, he scrubbed his body viciously, reminding himself that heliked Scott , who was everything he wanted. It didn’t matter to him at all that his insufferable bodyguard didn’t find him attractive. Summers was straight; of course he wouldn’t find him him attractive. It was fine.

The only reason he felt so bothered by Summers’s indifference was because his plan hadn’t worked. His bodyguard didn’t seem disgusted or uncomfortable—at least not enough to quit.

It looked like he needed to change his tactics.
