MADDY

I messed up. I really messed up.

I couldn’t sleep.

I had so seriously messed up.

Throwing my blankets off, I tiptoed over to my desk for my phone. There were no messages from Max.

I checked my social media. There were some private messages from Beltraine and Axel.

I frowned, seeing a notification that Stevie Broudou had left me a message.

I wasn’t going to click on it. I still wasn’t sure how I felt about her. She was also new at FCA with me. We’d been in the same orientation meeting with the principal, and of course I knew her uncle. Brett Broudou was awesome. His niece, though, was a different story. She was weird, but I didn’t know if it was a cool weird, a stay away from weird, or just weird weird.

I swallowed my disappointment. There weren’t any messages from Max on any of my social media accounts. My eyes watered as I clicked out of everything, plugging my phone into the charger.

He was really mad at me. I’d so seriously and completely fucked up.

I sniffled, crawling back into bed and rolled over. Hugging the pillow, I buried my head in it and used it to quiet my tears.

I couldn’t lose Max. I just couldn’t.

I’d make it right tomorrow.
