CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN
RAINA
Lorenzo comes into the bedroom as I finish getting ready. His gaze travels from my feet to my face, slowly.
“Fuck, Firecracker. Looks like I’m skipping my brother’s wedding.”
I place my hands on my hips and glare at him.
“We are not skipping Reaper and Bella’s wedding.”
He holds his finger up and does a circle motion, telling me to turn around.
Walking over to me, he runs his hand over my ass.
“Hear me out, Firecracker. We’ll be a few minutes late. I’ll get to fuck you, and we’ll be there before they say ‘I do’.”
I turn to Lorenzo, who stands with his arms folded over his chest in mock annoyance.
“We are not skipping anything. Reaper would never forgive you.”
He arches an eyebrow and shakes his head in disagreement.
“Reaper won’t care, Raina. Guys don’t care.”
I step forward and take his hand. “Reaper cares a lot more than you guys think. Now let’s go. I want to get there in time to see Bella before the ceremony.”
He grumbles as we walk out the house together.
Spoiled man child.
He helps me into the passenger seat, leans down, and kisses me softly.
“You look beautiful, Firecracker.”
“Thank you,” I say, before he closes the door, comes around to the driver’s side, and gets in.
“Do you remember the rules for the night?” He asks as he starts driving to Reaper’s house, since they’re having the wedding there. One of the perks to owning a mansion, I guess.
“Stay close to you. Only your brothers are to be trusted. And Bella, but she’ll be busy,” I answer easily, since he’s been over the rules a hundred times already.
“Good girl,” he says.
I glance over to him and ask, “All your brothers can be trusted? Even Psycho?”
He nods as he turns, driving us into the middle of nowhere. “Even Psycho. He won’t hurt you. My oldest brother is unpredictable, but he wouldn’t do that to himself. He knows better.”
I’m not sure I completely trust Psycho, but I do trust Lorenzo, so I let it go.
“There will be other families there, so I need you to do as you’re told for once.”
I draw a circle with my finger over my head.
“I’m an angel.”
He chuckles as he pulls onto a side road that appears to lead nowhere.
“Angel, my ass. Angel with devil horns maybe.”
We pull up to a massive circular property with tall black gates around it, and I gasp audibly. I’ve seen nice houses, but this one is incredible. It looks like a damn castle.
He parks and walks me to the back of the building.
“Bella is in there. Tank will get you when you’re ready. Text him.”
We get out of the vehicle, and I throw my arms around his neck.
Kissing me softly, he says, “I’ll see you soon. Fucking behave.”
I giggle as I walk in the door, but find Bella in tears.
“What’s wrong?”
Athena comes in behind me and asks the same question.
“My dress won’t zip up.”
Athena and I share a glance, but then get to work getting the zipper up. It’s tight, but not skin tight.
“Do I look fat?”
We both roll our eyes and tell her no.
She looks beautiful like she always does. Bella is wearing a sleeveless dress, with diamonds lining the ‘V’ neck. It falls to the floor and shows her body off perfectly, although her stomach isn’t huge, but she’s put on weight.
Placing her hands on her belly, she giggles.
“I guess the cat is out of the bag with this dress.”
Athena and I stare at her, while she fixes her hair in the mirror.
“I’m pregnant. Again.”
I fight back the tears threatening to fall, because I want this for her and Reaper. My family took their first child violently, and while this child won’t bring him back, it’s beautiful that they get this chance again.
“Congratulations,” both Athena and I yell together.
Psycho knocks on the door and enters. I know Kage said not to be worried about him, but the sight of him brings on the nerves. If a man talks enough about wanting you dead, you fear him a bit.
“Ready, Bella?”
I stare in shock and she clearly catches it, because she says, “Psycho is walking me down the aisle. I don’t really have a family.”
They walk ahead of us, and Athena loops her arm in mine.
“They’re very close.”
“How did that happen?”
She rolls her eyes and giggles. “A shared love of knives and blood.”
