5. Cassie
Chapter 5
Cassie
Wow. I just love it here.
I wish I found a Daddy to live with… no, don’t even think it.
Cassie loved Katie and Cage’s place.
Ever since Katie had moved in, it had become far more homely. A perfect Daddy and Little forever home in fact.
All of Cage’s gruffly masculine influence was still there in the solid oak furniture and expensive looking kitchen equipment.
Oh, and the enormous couch that could easily fit six Littles on in one sitting!
But on top of this, there were now far more signs of Katie’s Little influence too.
Colorful prints popped on the walls.
The kind of art that Cage would never have considered getting for himself but was now more than happy to see every morning as he woke up.
Katie had also upgraded some of the demurer floor rugs and swapped them out for more vibrantly colored ones. Maybe it wasn’t a big change, but it really made a difference to the overall feel of the place.
All Cassie knew was that she liked it.
A lot.
Cassie also found it totally adorable that Cage had given up one of the guestrooms and converted it into a recording studio for Katie. Katie was an actor who was now making a name for herself as a voice actor. She had already put her voice to over ten audiobooks and was very much in demand.
The way that Cage had seen Katie’s talent and given her every encouragement to succeed was the stuff of dreams. He was Katie’s Forever Daddy, that was for sure.
‘Hey, come over here, I need to show you something,’ Katie called out. ‘Look what my Daddy got me!’
Cassie smiled as she witnessed Cage playfully smack Katie’s ass before walking through the kitchen and into the master bedroom.
The chemistry between the pair of them was great.
Total Daddy and Little goals.
Cassie walked with Katie into the home recording studio and listened intently as Katie explained how her new microphone was the absolute best in class. It would give Katie the purest audio recording. Perfect for auditions, showreels, and recordings alike.
‘Wow, you’re so lucky to have Cage,’ Cassie said.
‘And he’s lucky to have me!’ Katie giggled. ‘Don’t worry, you’ll find your Daddy one day soon. I know you will.’
Cassie appreciated that Katie was being supportive.
It meant a lot.
Katie’s blond hair flicked across her face as she started playing around with the new microphone. She was pretending to be a podcast host.
‘And here on today’s episode of City Littles, we have Cassie the Cute!’ Katie said, sheer glee in her voice. ‘So, tell me. What kind of Daddy are you looking for?’
Cassie rolled her eyes but couldn’t help laughing.
‘Hmm, let me see. Big arms!’ Cassie laughed, blushing. ‘And definitely someone who enjoys giving tuck-ins at bedtime!’
The pair of Littles fell about laughing.
It was a lot of fun hanging out together at Katie’s place.
Cassie noticed Katie’s stuffie sitting next to her sound bar. Katie’s stuffie was called Snug and he was the cutest little bear.
‘Do you think Snug would like some company?’ Cassie asked. ‘I’ll go and get Bouncer, and they can enjoy sitting on the sound bar together!’
‘Hey, stop trying to change the subject!’ Katie said, her soft, plump lips pursing together. ‘I want to know more about your ideal Daddy. More specifically, I want to hear more about this firefighter. Kane I think his name is, right?’
Sydney must have told her!
Of course she did!
Oh well, the secret is out of the bag…
‘He’s sexy. Very sexy. I’ll say that,’ Cassie said, to squeals of delight from Katie. ‘But you know me. I’m too busy. I need my own time and space to work on the comic. Not every Daddy is as supportive as Cage is to you. I’ve been hurt before. It’s not a path I want to go down again.’
Cassie could see that Katie wanted to say something.
But Katie was holding back from speaking.
‘Go on, tell me that not all Daddies are like my stinky old one,’ Cassie said, folding her arms across her perky chest. ‘Go on. I know you want to!’
‘Well, it’s true!’ Katie exclaimed. ‘Cassie, I know you were hurt badly by that poop of a Daddy. Who really had no right to even call himself a Daddy, by the way. But whatever. Anyway. You never know, Kane might be everything you’re looking for. And more on top of that!’
Cassie took a moment to consider what Katie was saying.
It was true that not all Daddies would be negative and cruel.
Of course it was.
Cassie only had to look at Cage and see that wasn’t true.
But Cassie just didn’t know if she had it in her to trust someone again. It had taken her a long time to get her confidence back after what had happened previously.
Why risk it happening all over again?
Cassie explained this to Katie who listened attentively. Katie really was a great listener. And did it without judgement too.
‘But it’s something else too,’ Cassie added, a little unsure of herself. ‘It’s my work. All of the comic book material. I’m going to have so much to catch up on. And that’s if it’s even possible to save what was on my devices. I don’t know what I’ll do if that’s gone.’
Katie nodded.
‘Yeah, I understand that,’ Katie said. ‘It’s why my Daddy always makes sure I back everything up at the end of the day. And not just on the auto-backup either. I have to do a second back-up too. If I forget, I get a spanking!’
The two Little giggled.
‘Do you sometimes forget on purpose?’ Cassie laughed, shaking with laughter at this point.
‘No comment!’ Katie replied, totally revealing that she did in fact forget on purpose. ‘Let’s just say I have a glowing butt fairly often!’
Cassie let out a sigh.
She would have loved to be in a situation like Katie.
But maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.
Not yet anyway.
‘I hate to walk out of my first podcast interview, but I have to get to my fire safety course,’ Cassie said, easing herself out of the comfy corner chair in Katie’s studio.
‘You don’t want to be late, or you might get a spanking from Kane!’ Katie laughed.
‘Shut up!’ Cassie laughed. ‘Enough with the teasing. He’s not my Daddy. And there will be zero spankings happening!’
‘Sure, sure, we’ll see,’ Katie said.
Either way, it was time to leave.
The fire safety course wasn’t going to take itself.
The journey from Katie’s place to the fire station was nice and chilled out. Cassie put on some music on her headphones, and she happily walked through the park.
It was a great short-cut.
It took at least twenty minutes off the journey and meant that Cassie didn’t have to get an Uber. With the future of her comic still up in the air somewhat, she wanted to be as careful as she could when it came to money.
Walking wasn’t so bad.
Especially not in the sun.
Cassie arrived at the fire station and took a moment to admire it from the outside. It was a classic old style fire station. The bright red city fire department logo on the outside shone brightly.
The hustle and bustle of firefighters was audible from outside too. It was actually a little bit intimidating for Cassie.
A bunch of rough, tough firefighters?
Yes, it was hot.
But for someone so small as Cassie, it was a little bit scary too.
‘Hey, you made it,’ Kane said, appearing from around the corner and guiding Cassie inside. ‘Yep. Exactly ten minutes before the course is due to start too. You can take instructions. Good to know.’
I think Kane is almost certainly a Daddy.
Hot. Gruff. And definitely very bossy.
Yep, he must be.
Cassie walked with Kane through the main entrance foyer. The fire engines looked mightily impressive.
Hulking machines.
Perfectly polished.
Powerful.
Not too dissimilar to Kane, come to think of it.
‘If you behave, I might let you sit inside it,’ Kane said, noticing that Cassie couldn’t take her eyes off the fire engine as they walked past.
Cassie giggled with excitement.
She even felt herself getting turned on.
In fact, being at the station was even better in real life than it had been in Cassie’s dreams.
She’d been finding her mind wandering constantly.
Cassie simply couldn’t stop thinking about Kane stripping down, his body smelling smoky, his no-doubt ripped abs and bulging guns on full display.
Kane’s manhood had been in Cassie’s thoughts too.
The shape and size of it.
What it might feel like in her hands, mouth, other places…
‘Hey, young lady, focus,’ Kane said, grabbing Cassie and firmly moving her out of the way as the firefighters marched past. ‘This is a serious place. Make no mistake on that.’
‘Y-y-y-yes, sorry,’ Cassie said, blushing furiously and wondering just how obvious it was that she was currently crushing uber-hard on Kane.
‘Hey, no, forget about it,’ Kane replied. ‘Couple too many beers for me last night. I’ve got a case of hangover grumps. You know, my life would be a whole lot easier if I could actually only have one beer rather than seven.’
Cassie nodded.
‘Well, maybe you could?’ Cassie asked. ‘Or maybe if you had someone to help you?’
Kane didn’t respond.
Maybe he hadn’t heard Cassie.
Maybe he simply rejected her idea.
Either way, Cassie didn’t feel confident enough to repeat herself. She just let the comment disappear into the ether.
‘Anyway, a quick update,’ Kane said, pausing and wearily scratching his head. ‘I’m still working on your equipment. Like I said, it’s a lot of work. Tough stuff. But… I’m hopeful. No promises, kid. Got it?’
‘Got it,’ Cassie said, smiling and feeling optimistic. ‘Thank you for putting so much effort into it. My comic really means a lot to me. It’s not just the money side. Although that is important too.’
‘I hear you,’ Kane replied. ‘Okay, time for you to get in there and pass this course. Ace it and I’ll arrange for you to sit up in the big truck. Old Red we call her. One of a kind. Never broken down on a job. Never will either. Reliable as hell.’
‘Wow, that would be totally awesome!’ Cassie answered, full of enthusiasm and genuinely thrilled at the prospect. ‘Some good news at last.’
‘Yup, that’s the spirit,’ Kane said. ‘But something tells me you’ve still got a lot on your mind? Talk to me. Let me see if I can be of assistance.’
‘But you’ve done so much already–’
‘It’s not a request. Talk,’ Kane said, sounding as stern as her ever had.
There was something about the way that Kane addressed Cassie that made Cassie want to obey him.
Each and every time.
Without fail.
It was like being around Kane brought a very special side of Cassie’s inner Little to the fore.
And Cassie couldn’t help but love it.
But right now, her mind was on other things.
It was time to tell Kane what was up.
‘The thing is, I’m super-grateful to be staying with Katie and Cage,’ Cassie explained. ‘But I know they need their space as Daddy and Little. Plus it’s where Katie works. I would never want to jeopardize our relationship by outstaying my welcome.’
‘What about that other kid, Sydney?’
‘No, her place is too small. Like, seriously tiny,’ Cassie said, suddenly feeling a little bit overwhelmed.
She didn’t have many options.
The last thing she wanted was to have to pack her things and head back to her family’s ranch. It was nice to visit on holidays, but Cassie was a New York City Little now.
City living was her life.
Cassie didn’t want to give it up.
Cassie looked up and saw Kane staring back at her.
Kane had a pensive look. Like he was considering something.
But what?
‘Kid, I might just have a solution,’ Kane said, arching his eyebrow and rubbing his hand over the rough stubble around his strong jawline. ‘Want to hear it?’
Cassie did want to hear it.
She felt a surge of excitement rapidly building inside her.
But she could never have predicted Kane’s idea.
Not in a million, billion, Little lifetimes…
