Chapter 21

Idid tell him he wouldn’t like it. His jaw pops as his eyes harden, and he jerks his head at me in a nod, waiting for me to start. Lifting the blade from the table, I wink at him as I move closer. It has to look real.

He’s right, I’m still scared of Butcher, but I meant what I said. Fear has to be killed. I have no intention of sitting around and waiting for him to come back and torture me again, and he would. No, I’m not the scared little pet I was then, so this time, I’m taking the fight to him.

He told me I should have made sure he was dead. The truth is, he should have made sure I was because I’ve had years to stew on my fury, hatred, and bloodlust, and it’s all aimed at him.

I run the blade teasingly over Kane’s lips, and they part as his eyes heat and lock on me. Grinning, I drag it down his chin then slice his chest. He hisses in pain as blood wells, but he isn’t loud enough. I need the guards to hear him, who are no doubt nearby.

“Scream for me,” I tell him.

His eyes tighten and his lips flatten, so I trail my hand down his torso and grab his cock, making him jerk. “I said scream, Kane.”

“Make me,” he retorts, but there’s something other than pain in his eyes—desire. He hardens in my hand, and I can’t help but grin.

“Oh, you are really fucked up, Sai,” I tease as I sink the blade into his shoulder. The shock is what makes him finally cave. His cry echoes around the room before he cuts it off, panting as the knife protrudes from his shoulder.

He’s still hard in my other hand, and that makes my eyebrows rise. The smirk he gives me is bloody and evil. “Never said I wouldn’t enjoy it, Bexley.”

The way he caresses my name sends a shiver through me before I remember our situation. The sound of footsteps snaps me back to the present, followed by the door unlocking. “Leave them to me,” I whisper. “I have some aggression to get out anyway.”

“You better leave me some.” He frowns just as the door is opened behind me. I know what they see—me, a bloody knife, and Kane pretending to be weak. They probably think I got myself in here to kill him, or I just took my opportunity.

“Shit, she’s killing him!” they shout as they rush in.

With a wink at Kane, I wait until they are close enough, and then I turn.

There are three of them, and I throw myself at them, knocking them back as I yank the wrench from the back of my jeans and hammer it into one of their heads.

He goes down as arms wrap around me and lift me into the air.

Using the momentum, I flip over him and bring the wrench down across the back of his head.

He stumbles forward, waving his arms, and I bring it down again as the other tries to get around them and at me.

Kane wraps the man up in his chains, holding him as I finish off the others.

I turn back to them and walk over. Yanking the blade from Kane’s shoulder, I slam it into the man’s chest and twist it as he grunts from the pain.

“You can let go,” I say, and Kane does. The man drops dead to the floor, and I smile. “See? My plan is working great.”

“Amazing. Could you free your damsel?” he asks, eyeing his shoulder then me.

Rolling my eyes, I scan the room. The idiots even left the door open in their haste.

“Bexley,” he prompts, jangling his chains.

“Don’t be such a baby. It’s just a flesh wound. There’s nothing vital there. I made sure.” I search the bodies until I find the keys, and then I skip over and start undoing his chains. They fall away, and he climbs to his feet, rolling his bad shoulder.

“It still hurts like a son of a bitch,” he responds, eyeing me darkly.

“Good, I needed it to. Now, if you’ve finished whining, let’s go kill some bitches.

” Heading to the table, I pick out some toys and slip them into my pockets.

I watch as Kane wraps a chain around one of his arms, and the sight of it is hot as fuck.

He catches me looking and grins, so I turn away and search the bodies.

I find three guns, so I pocket two and offer the other to Kane.

“Why do you get two?” he grumbles as he checks the chamber and clip.

“I found them. Finders keepers.” I shrug as I head to the door and peek out.

He presses against my back, and lips brush my ear. “I found you. Does that mean I get to keep you?”

I elbow him, and he steps back with a grunt. “Babe, I found you, not the other way around.”

“Then are you going to keep me?” he flirts.

“How about we save this until we’re free?

” I retort as I step behind the door just as another man rushes in.

Kane throws his chain out, smacking the guard under his chin and snapping his neck.

He drops to the floor, and Kane winds the chain back up.

He barely even looked at the man, keeping his eyes on me.

“I can multitask. Want to see?” His gaze sweeps down my body.

Walking out the door, I palm an electric prod as I go, my stolen toy. “You know, if I didn’t know better, I’d say getting stabbed was foreplay for you, but I heard the great Sai older brother is as sane as they come.”

“Or so everyone thinks,” he teases as he follows me, letting me take the lead.

Two men yell as they rush around the corner at us.

Kane throws one at me and grabs the other, effortlessly breaking his neck.

Ducking under the knife my guard is wielding, I stab the electric prod into his balls.

His scream cuts off as he jerks and pisses himself.

When he falls, I shove it into his eye, watching the skin burn as his body writhes, and then he’s dead.

Blowing my hair back from my face, I glance at Kane to see him leaning against the wall, watching me.

“I wear sanity well, don’t I?” He tilts his head, grinning. “Always have. Nobody apart from my family knows how truly insane I am, especially when it comes to things I consider mine.”

I aim the prod at him. “I am not yours, Sai. Keep that in mind. I belong to no man.”

“No?” His tongue sweeps across his lips as he steps toward me.

“How about belonging to three instead?” My eyes narrow, and he smirks.

“Fine, hellion, how about I belong to you? You did rescue me, after all, so I have to thank you.” He steps closer as he speaks, and I don’t back down, not even as he presses against me.

He’s injured, yet the sick bastard is still determined.

His brothers shouldn’t have been worried about him.

Kane Sai is like a cockroach, impossible to kill or keep down.

No wonder they are as powerful as they are.

I have no idea what game he’s playing now, but I don’t want any part of it.

I have a feeling getting tangled with him would cause me nothing but misery and death, no matter how pretty his face is or how much I want to find out just how much he really enjoys pain.

“Stop right there!” someone calls, and without looking, we both pull out guns and shoot. There is a muffled yell then a thud as we lower our arms. “What do you say, hellion? Want to find out what it means to own the Sai family?”

“You wish,” I scoff as I lift my gun and press it against his chin. He leans into it, his eyes locked on me. “After I save your ass and get my revenge, you won’t ever see me again. Now, let’s go kill them.”

Turning, I keep my pistol out as I step over the bodies and around the corner. “Never say never, hellion. Nobody escapes me, not when I have them in my sights.”

I ignore his words, even as they send a slow roll of pleasure through me. Everyone is scared of me, and even the men I date are careful with their words and treatment of me, yet here is Kane motherfucking Sai, threatening to stalk me. It should annoy me, but I find it endearing.

Taylor was right. I am messed up in the head.
