LUCAS

T hree months later…

I stand in the office where she came in for her interview, gazing out at the city below. The view from up here is as commanding as ever, but today it holds a different meaning.

This is where I first caught her, where everything changed. It’s strange to think how much has happened since that day—how much we’ve both changed.

Emily’s been working as a journalist for the last couple of months, building a business from scratch, getting commissions for more stories, all off her own back.

The door opens behind me, and I turn to see her walk in. She’s breathtaking, as always, but now there’s something even more captivating about her. The rounded bump beneath her dress is a visible reminder of the life we’re creating together, of the future that’s slowly taking shape.

She smiles when she sees me, a teasing glint in her eyes. “Why did you want to meet here?” she asks, crossing the room to stand beside me.

I reach out, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, unable to resist touching her. “I thought it would be fitting,” I say, my voice low, filled with the significance of this moment. “This is where everything started, after all.”

She raises an eyebrow, that familiar curiosity of hers making her even more irresistible. “Everything?”

I nod, letting my gaze drift over the room before settling back on her. “Everything. It’s where I realized how much I wanted you in my life. And now, I want you to be part of the decisions I make, part of this world I’m building.”

Her smile softens, and I can see the emotion in her eyes. She’s always been strong, always been independent, but seeing her here now, standing by my side, makes me realize just how far we’ve come. She’s not just my partner in life—she’s my partner in everything.

“What kind of decisions are we talking about?” she asks, her tone curious but serious. I can tell she’s ready for whatever comes next.

I move to the desk, picking up the folder I’ve prepared for her. It’s not just a business decision—it’s a symbol of the trust and respect I have for her, of my desire to make her an integral part of everything I do. I hand her the folder, watching her as she opens it and begins to read.

“I’ve got two offers for this space,” I explain, my eyes on her as she flips through the documents. “One is from a debt collection firm—they’ve made the highest bid. The other is from a media company that just secured an exclusive interview with me as I expand my real estate empire.”

She looks up, her brow furrowing in thought. “Which media company?”

I can’t help but smile, pride swelling in my chest as I say, “Yours.”

The surprise on her face is priceless, and I savor the moment as she processes what I’ve just said. “Mine?” she echoes, almost disbelieving.

I nod, stepping closer, wanting her to understand just how much I believe in her. “I’ve been watching you, Emily. You’re incredible at what you do, and I want to support that. This space could be the headquarters for your company, a place where you can build something of your own.”

The weight of the moment hangs between us, and I can see the realization dawn on her—that this isn’t just about the space, or the business, but about us. About the life we’re building together, as equals, as partners.

A slow smile spreads across her face as she looks back down at the documents. “I think the media company is the better choice.”

I grin, pleased with her decision. It’s the right one, and it’s another sign of how perfectly we fit together. “Then it’s settled.”

With the decision made, a different kind of energy fills the room—one that’s charged with anticipation and desire. Emily’s still standing by the desk, the folder in her hands, but I can see the shift in her posture, the way her breath catches slightly as she realizes what’s coming next.

I step behind her, my hands finding their way to her waist, feeling the warmth of her skin beneath the fabric of her dress. She’s soft, beautiful, and completely mine. I lean in, brushing my lips against the side of her neck, and I feel her shiver in response.

“You know,” I murmur against her ear, my voice low and thick with the desire that’s been building since the moment she walked in, “there’s one more reason I wanted to meet here.”

I can feel her smile even before she speaks, a teasing lilt in her voice. “Oh? And why’s that?”

Without answering, I gently turn her to face the desk, guiding her movements with a firm but gentle touch. I bend her over slightly, her hands resting on the cool surface of the desk as I press against her from behind. The sight of her like this, willing and trusting, sends a surge of possessiveness through me.

“I’ve been thinking,” I whisper, my hands sliding up her thighs, lifting her skirt as I go. “Thinking about how fucking good you look.”

She lets out a soft gasp as my hands find their way to her behind, caressing her in a way that’s both teasing and possessive. Her reaction only fuels my desire, and I deliver a light, playful smack that makes her arch her back and moan softly.

“Lucas…” she breathes, her voice a mix of surprise and arousal. The sound of my name on her lips, spoken like that, nearly undoes me.

I lean in closer, my mouth grazing her ear as I whisper, “You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, Emily. And I’m going to make sure you never forget that.”

There’s a thrill in the way she responds to me, in the way her body trembles beneath my touch. I tease her, my hands roaming over her curves, memorizing every inch of her.

I can feel the tension building between us, the way her breath quickens, the way her body presses back against mine, silently begging for more.

I don’t make her wait long. My fingers find the hem of her underwear, and I slip them down, letting them pool at her feet. The sight of her, bare and vulnerable, bent over the desk, is enough to make my pulse race.

I take a moment to drink in the view, to let the reality of this moment sink in—how far we’ve come, how much I want her, how much I love her.

I lower myself behind her, pressing a kiss to the back of her thigh, then another higher up, each one slow and deliberate. I take my time, savoring the way her breath hitches with every touch, with every kiss.

My hands grip her hips, holding her steady as I continue to worship her, to show her exactly how much she means to me.

Her soft moans fill the room, each one driving me closer to the edge. I know she’s close, can feel it in the way she’s trembling, in the way she’s holding back, waiting for my command.

But I’m not ready to give in just yet—I want to draw this out, to make sure she knows exactly how much power she holds over me.

When I finally rise, pressing myself against her, I lean down, my lips brushing her ear as I whisper, “I love you, Emily. More than anything in this world.”

Her breath catches, and she turns her head slightly to look back at me, her eyes wide and filled with the same desire that’s burning through me. “I love you too, Lucas,” she whispers, her voice trembling with emotion.

With a slow, deliberate motion, I slide into her, filling her completely. She gasps, her body tensing at the sensation, and I give her a moment to adjust, my hands never leaving her hips.

The connection between us is electric, the room filled with the sound of our breathing, the building intensity of our shared desire.

I start to move, slow and steady at first, each thrust deep and controlled. But as the tension builds, so does the urgency, and I pick up the pace, driving us both toward the inevitable climax.

The desk creaks beneath us, but I don’t care—nothing matters except the way she feels, the way she responds to every touch, every thrust.

When we finally reach the peak together, it’s like the world shatters around us, leaving nothing but the overwhelming sensation of pleasure and the deep, unbreakable bond we share.

I hold her tight as we come down, her body trembling in my arms, her breath coming in ragged gasps.

For a moment, neither of us speaks, content to simply hold each other, to let the afterglow of our lovemaking wrap around us like a warm blanket. I press a kiss to the back of her neck, my hands sliding down to rest on her belly, feeling the steady pulse of our child’s life beneath my fingers.

“You’re everything to me, Emily,” I murmur against her skin, my voice filled with the depth of my love for her. “You and our daughter. I want to make sure that every decision I make, every step I take, is for our future.”

She turns her head slightly, her eyes meeting mine with a look of pure love and trust. “And what does that future look like?”

I smile, pulling her closer as I press another kiss to her temple. “With the rival’s empire now under my control, I’ve been thinking about what comes next. My real estate business is booming, and… I’m considering going legitimate one day. For you. For our family.”

Her eyes widen slightly, surprise mingling with hope. “Going legitimate? Really?”

I nod, my smile widening as I see the warmth in her expression. “I’m not saying it’ll happen overnight, but it’s something I’m working toward. I want to give you and our daughter a life where you don’t have to worry about the dangers of my past.”

She reaches up, cupping my face in her hands, her touch gentle and loving. “I think that’s a beautiful idea, Lucas. But… I have to admit, I might miss the bad boy in you just a little.”

I chuckle, the sound low and filled with affection. “Don’t worry, I’ll always keep things interesting. As long as you stay by my side.”

“Always,” she replies, leaning in to kiss me, sealing our promise with a tender embrace.

I brush a stray lock of hair from her face as she straightens her clothes. There’s a softness in her eyes, a kind of contentment that mirrors my own. This woman, this life we’re building together—it's everything I've ever wanted, even if I didn’t realize it at first.

My phone beeps an alert. “Time to get you to that doctor’s appointment,” I say, my voice gentle as I take her hand, guiding her toward the door. “Don’t want to be late, do we?”

She nods, a small smile playing on her lips. “I’m ready when you are.”
