Chapter 25
KILLA
“What the fuck happened?” I seethe as I step into church, barely giving my brothers a chance to shut the door behind us.
Savage is waiting in his place around the table, and Hunter sits with his laptop open next to him. “Explain!” I snipe out, pointing at Hunter.
“My balls are so fuckin’ cold, man. They’re blue, I think they’re gonna fall o—” A scuffle sounds from behind me, and the sound of flesh hitting flesh tells me someone has finally had enough and put Abs in his place.
Savage motions toward my chair, and I cross my arms over my chest. The moment Morgue and Warrior step up behind me, I know it’s bad.
“Fuck.” I sink into my seat, feeling like the room is closing in on me.
I grind my teeth so hard my jaw hurts as I wait for Hunter to open his dumb mouth, but of course the idiot takes forever.
“There’s been an accident.” He grimaces.
“He dead?” Warrior asks, but judging by the look on Hunter’s face, he isn’t. He shakes his head solemnly.
“Then where the hell is he?” My tone is deadly.
Fury fuels my blood flow, and I swear I’m moments away from ripping some fucker’s head off.
How the hell did this even happen?
“We don’t know,” Hunter confirms.
Don’t know? I blink as a dark shadow closes in on me. My vision becomes blurry with a haze of violence bubbling to the surface.
“The. Fuck. You. Mean. We. Don’t. Know?” I bite out each excruciating word. How can this be?
“Was this a setup?” Warrior asks, and my eyebrows lift as a choked sound leaves me. I haven’t had a chance to process any of it yet, but now that he’s brought this up, it makes sense.
Hunter drags a finger over his lip. “I believe so. The collision happened before they reached Trent Valley. It took out the two convoy vehicles at the front and all prisoners onboard made a run for it. Two were shot on sight by the remaining officers while Benjamin and another prisoner escaped toward the Valley. The police already located the other prisoner.”
“And let me fucking guess. No sign of Benjamin?” Warrior asserts.
“Nothing.” Hunter stares back at me while the room spins. He’s out there, and I know exactly where he’s headed. “One officer took off after him, but neither have been found yet.”
“He’s coming for Cass,” I rasp.
The guys all look at one another before their gazes land back at me.
“Are you sure?” Savage asks.
“Positive.” My blood curdles at the thought. I’ve never been more positive about something before in my entire life; I can feel it in my bones. He’s coming for her, and when he does, I’ll be waiting.
