Chapter 29

KILLA

“Wake up, motherfucker.”

I gasp for air as the ice-cold water makes me choke, and my teeth chatter. Are they waterboarding me? Have the Vipers taken me?

“Yo, Killa. Wake the fuck up!” Warrior’s voice sneaks into my cloudy subconscious, and a swift kick to my legs has my body reacting.

“Prick,” I grunt, taking stock of what the hell my brothers have done to me.

Cass’s face flashes into my mind, the broken way she whispered she loved me, like she was saying goodbye and never returning.

I drag a hand over my head and down my face, but I barely feel the action. “The fuck?”

“Killa! Snap out of it. Cassidy needs you.”

I jolt at his words, and like a tsunami, everything that happened in church comes rushing back to me.

Benjamin going missing, the photo of Stella tied up, and the way Cass stepped forward for her, taking my heart with her.

“Where the fuck is my woman?” I groan and sit up. My head is spinning, or is it the room?

“Here, drink this.” Warrior pushes a glass of Scotch into my hand, and I moan when pain shoots across my temple as I tip my head to swallow it back.

“Prefer the fuckin’ bottle,” I mumble. “Tell me where she is,” I bite out, beyond pissed my brothers did this to me and worse. Did they actually let her leave? “Has she left?”

“Yeah,” Savage says.

“My woman’s havin’ my baby, you fuckin’ bastards!”

Savage jerks. “What?”

“She doesn’t know!” Spittle slips from my mouth, and I swipe it away. “She doesn’t fuckin’ know.” My eyes meet his, and his jaw falls slack. “I want her back,” I demand. “I want her and my fuckin’ baby back right now!”

I push up to my feet but fall forward against the table.

Jesus Christ.

“You think he can ride?” Savage asks someone.

“He’ll be fine.” Warrior presses on my shoulder and pulls me up straight, and even I can hear the grimace in his voice. “We’ll get her back.”

“We’ve got this, Killa,” Savage says, and I hear the tremor in his voice. He’s worried, and he should be. They don’t realize the extent of Benjamin’s sick obsession with my woman, and should he find out she’s expecting, I can’t even begin to imagine.

“I need them back.” My eyes implore Savage’s, and he tips his chin in Hunter’s direction.

I turn to face Hunter, and I swear the room spins faster. “Where the fuck are we going?”

“She has the tracker in her neck.” A smile creeps over Savage’s face. “I let her go because we knew damn well she would lead us to him.” He pushes out of his chair with a smug smile on his face. “Now get your shit together. Let’s go get your ol’ lady back.”

And just like that, adrenaline fills my bloodstream, rushing through me and bringing every cell back to life.

I’m about to set the world on fire, and that twisted motherfucker will be in the very center of it.
