Chapter 31
KILLA
It’s a good thing it’s windy and the morning sun is breaking through the clouds, because it’s helping keep me awake and fucking focused as we ride toward what was Cass’s prison with that fucked-up piece of shit.
Adrenaline spikes through my veins, killing the poison that knocked me out cold.
Whatever shit Morgue carries round in a needle is good stuff, and according to Warrior, he only gave me a small dose.
The fuck?
Warrior keeps glancing at me with concern etched on his face, so I push the throttle harder and take the lead. I need my woman back in one piece, with no additional nightmares. She has enough demons to withstand already.
We’ve been riding for almost two hours, but we shouldn’t be too far behind her, and when I finally catch up with my little demon, I will be spanking her ass raw for the hell she’s caused me.
Just what the hell was she thinking, sacrificing herself like this?
I almost miss the slight gap in the trees that Hunter pointed out to be the opening to the property line, but I swerve just in time. A tirade of curses from my brothers follows behind.
Parking my hog at the entrance, I dismount swiftly, and then I check my gun.
“You got this?” Warrior asks, scanning over my face.
Damn fucking right I got this.
I give him a sharp nod.
“Run me through the plan again,” Savage says, and I pump my fists at time being wasted.
Raider steps forward; he’s one of our enforcers and owns our gym that doubles as a martial arts studio. Fortunately for us, he comes with a wealth of contacts from his very mysterious past that only Savage is privy to.
“The house is about two miles away, through a field, pretty open, so he’ll see us coming if he’s looking.” He spits on the floor and practically bounces from foot to foot.
I drag a hand over my head. The thought of him seeing us approach is daunting, and part of me hopes he’s distracted enough not to witness it, but the thought of his attention on Cass, knowing what he’s capable of, has my stomach swimming in an unfamiliar nervousness that makes me feel like I’m drowning.
“What’s on the other side of the property?” Venom asks, pointing beyond the tree line.
“A dip down into a hill, there’s an old barn. Pigs found it empty, fuck all in there,” Raider says.
Venom stares toward the woods with a far-off expression, and I already know what my brother is thinking. He’s going to search the place himself.
“So, what the fuck do we do? Try to creep toward the house like little bitches?” Slash asks, with disdain in his tone.
“No. We fuckin’ raid it like the savages we are,” I growl back. There’s no way in hell I could move slowly, not while knowing my woman and Stella are suffering.
“We leave the bikes; he’ll hear us approach if not. We stick to the plan. Split into pairs, take different angles, and that way, if he has a weapon, at least it gives the others a chance to take him down.” Savage’s gaze sweeps over us. “We want him alive!” he tacks on, and I deliver him a firm nod.
Damn fucking right we want him alive. I’m going to devour that motherfucker.
Slash nods. “Gotcha.”
Savage glances around us. “Let’s do this.”
My blood pumps rapidly as my brothers nod. Knowing I have them behind me as I step up to take the lead means everything.
“Ride till we fall! Unholy to the core!” Savage bellows.
“Ride till we fall! Unholy to the core!” we chant in unison; another reminder we’re in this together.
“I’m coming, Little Demon,” I whisper into the breeze. “And when I have you back, I’m never letting you go again.”
