Chapter Six #4

“A hundred dollars for customers who I don’t want to fuck. Free for you.”

I frowned at him and he closed the hood. “I’m going to sleep with you without the free service.”

“I know, but I’m not going to charge my future boyfriend to fix something that costs almost nothing in parts. Normal cost is mostly for labor.”

“Boyfriend, huh?” I said as he walked over to me. “This sure is escalating quickly.”

He smiled at me and circled his arms around my waist again. “You can set whatever pace you’re comfortable with, but yeah, I want to date you, fuck you, be your boyfriend, finish falling for you and claim you as mine one day.”

“You really have a way with words, Bennett Winchester,” I said, teasing him to avoid the fear rising in me at the thought that he wanted to claim me one day. One, that might never be possible. Two, even if it was, I wasn’t positive I was going to want to be bonded to someone else ever again.

“I do, but I’m more than a little concerned about the fact that you have a loose connection.” He looked back at the car with confusion. “Have you had any other issues with the car at all? Any battery issues?”

“You have a lot of unreasonable faith in me if you think I would know what a battery issue presents like.”

He chuckled. “Trouble starting the car? Have you left the doors open or done anything to drain the battery that required you to have it jumped?”

“No,” I said. “Nothing at all.”

He glanced at me and then looked up and down the street, clearly searching for something. “Have you seen your ex around again?”

“No, not since the night you were there,” I said.

“What about your bonding mark with him? Has it been bothering you?”

“Bennett,” I said, setting my coffee down on his truck so I could wrap my arms around his neck. “I’m fine. Even if Ryder is lurking around, I don’t think he’d hurt me. He has no reason to do anything like this.”

Bennett nodded. “Okay, well, I don’t need to tow this. I can get a couple of parts and fix it right here. Why don’t you come back to the garage and eat some more while I get what I need?”

“You already gave me a don—”

He tipped my chin up to face him. “Please, I’m begging you, just let me feed you until I can tell you’re satisfied.”

I laughed and used my arms as leverage to pull myself closer to him. “You are such an alpha. You know, at first, I figured you’d become less desirable over time. Then I could avoid a potential relationship while my life’s a mess.”

“Your life isn’t a mess,” he said, running his hand over my cheek. “But how’s that avoidance working out for you?”

“It’s not working at all,” I said. “Dating you feels inevitable. I don’t see that I really have a choice in the matter.”

“You always have a choice with me, Felix. Always,” he said, cupping my face and looking at me earnestly.

“Not when you say sweet shit like that.” I leaned closer, wanting to feel his lips on mine. “Are you going to wait for me to make the first move, Bennett? So you know this is my choice?”

“Yes. Always. There’s an inherent power dynamic here that I can’t change. The only thing I can do is to make sure you know that I will always do everything in my power to give you a choice.”

“I’m going to choose to kiss you now,” I whispered before I pressed my lips to his.

Our lips touched, and it was like the connection lit a fire in Bennett as he pulled me closer and wrapped his arms around my waist. He groaned loudly as he parted my lips with his tongue.

He may have let me initiate the kiss, but he was certainly the one in charge of it, and I couldn’t even begin to complain.

The taste of him in my mouth and the scent of him as he pressed into me made all my senses fire and my dick stiffened into a steal rod.

Just when I was sure he was going to press me against the back of his truck, Bennett pulled back and smiled at me.

“I like your lips swollen, handsome.” He kissed me once more and I jumped up, certain he’d catch me.

He didn’t miss a beat, grabbing under my legs and holding me against him, using all his alpha strength to pull my hips against his.

I grinded against his hard cock and kissed my way down his scruffy jaw.

“Fuck, I should have done this weeks ago,” I said as I scent marked him.

Bennett chuckled, rubbing his nose into my neck and scenting me. “I’m supposed to be rescuing you right now, not making out with you in the middle of the street.”

I licked his scent gland, tasting his essence. “I’m exactly where I want to be, thanks.”

His chest rumbled and he set me back down on my feet. “I want to take you out on a date.”

“I have to work tonight,” I said. “I was supposed to run errands then go in at three o’clock.”

“Lunch?”

“Don’t you have cars to fix or something?” I asked, pulling his mouth back to mine.

He groaned and mumbled against my lips. “Yes, but I’d rather convince this guy I’m into that he made the right choice by kissing me and he should choose to do it again.”

I laughed and kissed him softly. “I think I’ll be choosing to do that plenty, don’t worry.”
