9. Ava

Chapter 9

Ava

“I don’t want to visit the island as a tourist first,” I murmur, tracing my fingernail around the island on the map we have. “I’ve studied the plans. But honestly, I have no inclination to be on that island longer than I need to be.”

“Are you sure?” Seb smirks, confidence radiating off him. “I suppose that’s why they hired us, right? And to our credit, between us, we’ve always done this without a sneaky visit. It’s what happens on the day that matters.”

“Right,” I reply. A flicker of determination ignites within me, but I still hope I made the right call. “When do you suggest we undertake the mission?”

“The day after the tour is supposed to be the perfect day, according to Silas who spoke to a former security guard at the island.”

“And the first payment is in the bank account?” I check. Seb nods as I chew on my bottom lip, watching ahead as an enormous super yacht floats toward us. The boat’s crew calls orders as the yacht drops anchor just outside of the marina.

Seb turns and looks in the same direction. “I think they took a wrong turn somewhere. Palma is more suited to boats that size.”

I smile.

“I want to do it the day before the tour,” I say, staring ahead, watching the crew preparing a smaller boat, getting it ready for someone to depart and probably go to the island.

Seb raises an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. “The day before the tourists arrive? What’s your reasoning behind that?”

My eyes are now on the activity happening on the yacht. “Think about it, Seb. The day before is when they let their guard down. They’re so focused on preparing for the tour, making sure everything is flawless for their guests. It’s the perfect opportunity to slip onto the island unnoticed.”

Seb leans against the railing, considering my words. “You might be onto something,” he concedes. “They’ll be making sure the island is ready for the guests, but that also means security will be ranked up.”

A smile tugs at the corners of my lips. “But any security will be focused on the flurry of activity coming and going on the island. And while it is, I can slip into the museum while everyone else is scurrying around and the security is keeping an eye on the catering and other staff hired for the tour.”

This plan feels risky, but it also feels right and certainly much better than the day after, when the island is not on such a buzz.

We watch as the yacht’s owner boards the smaller boat, ready to head towards the mainland. The crew springs into action, bustling about to ensure everything is in order.

“Okay,” Seb says, breaking the silence. “Let’s do it your way. The day before it is, but that means we need to make our way to Ibiza first thing in the morning.”“While you’re getting us there.” I smile. “I’ll take the plans and map out what actions I need to take. Can you hack into the museum’s laser path before we leave so I can memorize it?”

He nods. “I’ll go over the details of our strategy, the precise timing, and find out all their security measures tonight.”

My gaze finds Seb’s as the smaller boat drives past. We glance down as it passes our motor cruiser closer than we’d like.

I narrow my eyes as I watch the boat pass us and disappear to the shore. “That was weird.”

Boats normally keep their distance.

As the boat’s engine fades into the distance, I glance at Seb and he gives me a surprised look. We both know that something isn’t right.

“I know we are always on high alert whenever we have a big job, but that was too close for comfort,” Seb whispers, his voice laced with suspicion. “And some of the crew seemed too interested in our boat.”

I nod in agreement, my mind racing with possibilities. Could the island’s security already be onto us? Or was it merely a coincidence? Or ... “Do you think Silas is watching us?”

“But why?” he asks, his voice resolute. “How we get the necklace is not his problem.” Seb clenches his fists, his face reflecting his frustration. “Should we cancel the job?”

I shake my head. “There’s too much money at stake, and he’s given us too much information.”

Seb sighs. “And I’m sure he knows the right people to delete us. We’ll continue with the job, but we tell him nothing.”

A grin curls my lip upward. “Or we tell him to get us onto the island on the next tour.”

Seb nods, his eyes scanning our surroundings as if searching for any signs of trouble. “Agreed. And I’ll set up additional surveillance around our boat until the job is over.”

As night falls, we work diligently to secure our boat, setting up state-of-the-art surveillance cameras and motion sensors around the outside.

Every creak of the wind or extra wave that laps against the hull makes me jump. I hate that lately. I’m always on edge.

Could it be Silas?

Seb told me he asked to be more involved than any other client ever has. But why would he be monitoring us so closely?

Is he testing our loyalty or could he be working for someone else altogether? These thoughts swirl in my mind.

Seb checks the extra surveillance while I retreat to the cabin to study the plans of the island and review every detail of our plan and every angle.

We both know this job needs to be over with the moment we have the opportunity.

As I go over the blueprints, a surge of excitement covers the unease. Now, despite the large boat putting us on edge, the more I look at the files, the more eager I feel.

Just knowing the island holds a notorious reputation for being impenetrable, its security measures unmatched, makes me desperate to prove I, a lowly omega, can be the one who makes the island’s alphas drop to their knees.

“How’s it going?” Seb asks after a couple of hours.

“Not too bad. You?”

“If that boat passes us so close later, the surveillance will capture the images of the guests and I can feed those images through my database to work out who they are and if they’re a danger to us.”

I nod, stroking my hand over the back of my neck.

“Do you need a massage?”

I groan. “Would you?”

Seb smirks, scooting behind me and sliding his hands down my tense shoulders. His touch is firm yet gentle as his fingers knead my tension away.

“Of course,” he says, his voice filled with warmth. “Anything to help you relax.”

I close my eyes, allowing myself to melt into his touch. The anxiety that had been gnawing at me slowly ebbs away.

Seb’s presence has always had a calming effect on me, grounding me in moments like this.

As his skilled hands work their magic, I lean into his touch and feel a surge of gratitude for having him by my side.

“Thank you,” I whisper. “I don’t know why, but this job feels different. There’s something brewing.”

“It’s the value of the jewel and having to get on and off an island. Hotels and homes are much easier.” His breath ghosts over my neck as he lowers, whispering, “But we can do it. You can do anything.”

Maybe that’s the problem. We’ve become so in tune with each other, we’ve never failed.

I’ve always been able to rely on each of his strengths, the grounding he gives me and the way he makes me believe in myself.

When I first contacted Seb, I was overcome with anger, yet he soothed me—a beta soothed me—an omega.

He kisses the side of my face as he kneads my shoulders. “I can think of a better way to loosen you up.”

“You’re going to knot me?”

He smiles. “And then I’m going to sleep inside you.”

He kisses my shoulder, pushing the fabric of my top down my arm.

I chuckle, feeling the tension slowly dissipate. “As tempting as that sounds, we’ve got work to do if we want to leave here first thing in the morning.”

Seb pouts playfully. “Spoilsport,” he teases, but then his expression turns serious. He squeezes my shoulders and pulls away, letting us return to our respective tasks.

I turn and smile at him, slipping my top over my head. “I think we both work better when we aren’t stressed.”

“You’re proving you’re an omega right now.” Smiling, he pulls me into his arms. I wrap my legs around his waist.

He strides down the alleyway to our cabin.

Throwing me on the bed while he grabs his knot ring from the top drawer.

He tosses it to me, and I take it and slide my fingers through my omega slick, wiping the slippery mess over the knotty ring, lubricating it.

I scoop up more of my arousal and apply it to his cock.

My mouth waters as he slides the knotty ring over the crown of his cock and down his shaft.

He groans as it squeezes the base of his cock and he slips one ring over his balls, securing it in place.

“I need to feel you own me.”

Seb grabs me, pulling me into a passionate kiss. “Trust me, sweetheart,” he says, his voice gravelly. “I’m going to give you a ride you’ll never forget.”

I still have a feeling that finding me talking to the alpha in Monaco and then here in Majorca has turned my nerdy beta into a pseudo alpha.

He pins me down, his body pressing me into the mattress as our mouths fuse. Tongues twirl together, sending shivers down my spine.

He moves down my body, his lips kissing and licking the sensitive skin of my neck and chest, his hands exploring every inch of me.

I moan, feeling his fingers teasing my nipples, intense heat zips through my veins. Warming every inch of my body.

Seb moves further down, his tongue making slow circles around my belly button, causing my hips to buck up.

I arch my back higher, inviting him further, and he doesn’t disappoint.

He kisses my inner thighs, teasing me with his breath, sliding his tongue over my aching wetness. I groan, my hands gripping the sheets as my body writhes with desire.

He dips his tongue into me, flicking and swirling it around my sensitive center. “Already so wet.”

“Just fuck me, Seb. I need you.”

He smiles against me, peppering kisses up my body until we’re facing each other.

He licks his lips as he looks up at me. “You taste so sweet, my sweetheart. I can’t wait to be inside you.”

With that, he slides himself inside me, filling me completely.

I groan, my body trembling as he pulls out and thrusts into me again, whispering sweet nothings into my ear.

“You’re mine,” he growls, his hips picking up rhythm. “I’ll always protect you.”

I moan, my body responding to his every thrust. Seb’s hands grip my hips, guiding me as he takes me to new heights. I cling to him, my nails digging into his back as our bodies move together in perfect harmony.

As the excitement builds, so does the tension. I can feel it coiling deep within me, readying to explode. Seb senses it too, his thrusts becoming more urgent—more desperate.

“You’re mine. Tell me,” he growls again, but his words are only building my desire. “And then I’m going to make you scream.”

With his voice hoarse with lust, and the promise lingering in the air, I whimper, “I’m yours.”

My eyes meet Seb’s. His eyes are filled with passion and hunger.

There’s a familiar tightness in my stomach, and I know my climax is nearing. I need him. “Knot me.”

He gyrates his hips before he thrusts deep inside me, locking our bodies together in a primal union.

“Yes,” I cry out.

“You’re mine,” he chants over and over.

“I’m yours,” I cry out as his body moves in perfect synchrony with mine.

Seb’s breath hitches as the knotty toy tightens around his cock before slowly swelling inside me, stretching me, filling me completely.

My pussy flutters when the knot locks inside of me.

My fingernails grip onto Seb tighter, my body responding to the pressure, the pain, and the pleasure. It’s all melding into one intense sensation.

He thrusts once more, our bodies moving in a perfectly choreographed dance.

“Yes, you’re mine,” he growls, his voice ragged. “You’re always going to be mine.”

I nod, my eyes wide with desire and submission as our eyes lock as another tidal wave of ecstasy crashes over me.

His hips buck but he’s so deep inside me, his thrusts become shallow but urgent, while his breath is ragged as he nears his own climax.

“Seb!” I cry out, my voice high-pitched with desire. “I’m going to come!”

He growls, his eyes locking onto mine. “I’m close too,” he grunts, his knot swelling inside me even more. “Hold on to me.”

I wrap my legs around his waist, my nails sinking into his back as I cling to him, while my body trembles with the force of the orgasm building within me. Seb thrusts harder and faster, his knot stretching me even further, his cock swelling with each deep thrust.

“Fuck,” he breathes, his voice hoarse with desire. “You’re going to make me come.”

The desire builds to a crescendo, my pussy pulsating around his cock as ecstasy crashes over me. “Yes!” I scream, my climax taking me over, making me shout and moan as I reach my peak.

Seb’s body jerks as he releases his hot seed deep inside me, marking me as his own.

As my body shudders and trembles, Seb’s breath hitches and he groans. “Fuck,” he mutters. “You feel so good.”

His thrusts slow, his cock and the knot pulsate inside me as he rides out his own release.

Finally, he collapses on top of me, his body still trembling. I run my fingers through his hair, knowing that we’ve just shared something truly special.

My heart pounds against my ribs, trying to break free as Seb pulls me against his lean body. “I love you,” I whisper.

“I love you, Ava.” He kisses me hard on the lips. “But you need to sleep now. We have a big day tomorrow.”

He presses his mouth against mine again. “The boat is secure, but we’ll rise early in the morning and start traveling toward the island.”
