Chapter Thirteen

Pushing the door to my bedroom shut, I start undressing. While Gavin, Conrad, Ronan, and Natalie had come down to breakfast dressed for the day, I had not. When we’d finished eating, I didn’t want them to leave me even for a few minutes, so I invited them back to my suite. We hung out in the lounge area, just chatting and getting to know one another. The five of us get along like we’ve known each other our entire lives. It’s been absolutely effortless, and I love it.

Now, that’s not to say I’ve forgotten about the other twelve suitors I’ve met thus far, but it’s definitely easy to stay focused on these four with how well we get along.

I toss my clothes in the basket, hesitating for a moment before tossing my panties in as well. I’ve already been turned on a couple of times this morning, so it’s probably best to go with a new pair. I don’t know what anyone expects of the omegas on Heated. How are we supposed to be around this much hotness and not be turned on twenty-four-seven?

It doesn’t take long for me to redress, choosing a cute pair of shorts and a tank top before pulling on my hiking boots. I’d had to give away a bit of the plan today to make sure that everyone was dressed properly—not that I’ve confirmed that we’re going hiking. But when Bree provided everyone with a set of hiking boots and told them to dress for being outside all day, they had guesses on what we were doing.

The hike I have planned is a little long, but according to their site, it’s an easy one. That makes me feel better since everyone is wearing brand-new boots, but it’s better for them to have the right equipment—even if they have to break it in.

Pulling my hair up in a messy bun, I grab the scent canceler and give myself a thorough spray before dropping it into my backpack. Bree had backpacks made for each of us with snacks, water, and a few other hiking essentials to get us through the date. I grab a second bottle of the spray and add it to my bag just in case either of the alphas needs it. After all, we’re likely going to be sweating today, and with sweating comes our scents running amok.

“Okay, I’m ready,” I announce as I throw the door open.

“Hell, yes!” Natalie crows as she jumps up from the nest chair she was sitting on beside Ronan and hurrying over to grab her backpack. She links her arm through mine and leads us toward the door.

I glance back to find Ronan, Conrad, and Gavin pulling themselves to their feet, amusement on their faces.

“We’re going to have so much fun,” Natalie continues, oblivious to how her actions have amused the guys. “I’m so glad we’re here.”

I laugh, laying my hand on hers where it rests on my arm. “I’m glad you’re here, too, but your energy is off the charts, and I don’t know if I can keep up with you.”

“Oh, don’t worry,” Ronan calls from behind us. “It won’t last long. It’s the coffee—it always hits her hard and fast. Hence why she only has one cup a day when she’s not working.”

Natalie flushes but keeps smiling. “He’s right. I’m insane when I have coffee. You should see me at work. I drink the stuff almost the whole time I’m there to get me through the shift.”

“How do you sleep afterward, then?”

“I stop about an hour before my shift ends. By then, my body is ready to sleep. I don’t drive, so either Ronan picks me up or I grab a ride share. If it’s Ronan, I usually fall asleep in the car, and he has to carry me inside.”

I can already imagine it in my mind, and it’s kind of adorable. I might not have known them for long, but I love the relationship Ronan and Natalie have. They’re more than lovers, they’re best friends. I wonder what it would be like to have that kind of relationship.

“Are you just going to stand there and block the doorway, or are we going on a date?” Ronan asks with a chuckle, and I realize we’ve stopped walking.

“Oh, we’re definitely going on the date,” I tell him sassily.

Natalie laughs, yanking on my arm and urging me to hurry. “Better watch out. Ronan likes the sass, but only so he can spank it out of you later.”

And there goes my slick.

I almost trip over my feet as I come to a stop, gawking at Natalie. “You can’t just say things like that!”

“Sure, I can.” She grins as she steps closer. “What’s wrong? Did it make you wet?”

Oh, this girl. She’s definitely trouble, but I’m so here for it.

“That’s enough, Natalie.” Ronan sighs, throwing his arm over her shoulders and dragging her away. “Stop torturing Evangeline, please.”

She sticks out her bottom lip. “But it’s so much fun.”

Laughing, I lift my hands to cover my face as I flush. Today’s going to be interesting if this is how it’s going to go.

“You good?” Conrad grunts.

Lowering my hands, I nod. “Yup, just thinking about how much of a disaster this date could be.”

“Nah,” Gavin reassures. “It’s going to be a blast. Natalie is going to keep us all on our toes, though.”

“That’s for damn sure,” Conrad says with a chuckle before offering me his hand. Smiling up at him, I place my much smaller hand in his and walk to the SUV between him and Gavin.

“Morning, Evangeline. I hear we have a troublemaker today.”

I laugh at Lucas’s words. “We sure do. One thing is for sure, she’s going to make it interesting.”

“Of that, I have no doubt.” He nods for me to climb in. “Justin is with us today. We’ll both be joining you for the date like Mike and I did yesterday.”

“Sounds great. Thanks, Lucas.” I climb into the SUV, stopping in my tracks when I see Natalie straddling Ronan as she kisses the hell out of him.

I must make some kind of noise because she breaks the kiss to glance back at me. “You’re welcome to join us if you’d like, Evangeline.”

“Gods above. Natalie, stop it.” Ronan shakes his head as he picks her up off his lap and sets her back on the seat.

“While I appreciate the offer, I think I’ll sit up here with Conrad.” I drop into the first row, patting the seat for the quiet alpha to join me.

As he sits beside me, I let my eyes fall shut and try to calm myself—though having the giant of an alpha sit next to me might not have been the best idea. He sits close enough that his entire right side is pressed against me, and for a moment, I forget how to breathe again. First with Natalie practically humping her alpha in the back and inviting me to join, and now with Conrad pressed against me, all I can think about is someone filling me with their cocks and knotting me.

Think about something else, Evangeline. If you don’t, they’re going to smell you, even over the scent cancelers.

Taking another deep breath and then another, I finally get myself back together. I can’t do anything about my slick-covered panties, but something tells me I’m going to spend a lot of time with wet panties over the next seven weeks.

“You good, Evangeline?” Gavin asks from behind me and I turn to find him in the row right behind me.

“Yup, all good. It’s just an omega thing. I’ve been dealing with it for nearly twenty years.” I laugh, turning back to focus on the road. Somehow, I missed us going through the gates. I guess that’s one good thing about getting lost in my head and my lust.

The trail I picked out for us isn’t quite an hour away from the compound, and by the time we pull into the parking lot, I’m practically bouncing in my seat. The hike itself will only take about an hour, and then we’ll do some rock climbing before eating. Then we’ll have to hike back for another hour. That gives us plenty of time if anyone needs us to slow down for a bit. The hardest part of planning these dates was making sure I’d have enough time to get home and get ready for the next set of suitors.

Tonight is the last set of suitors, which sends butterflies rushing through my stomach.

I shake my head, knowing I need to focus on the date I’m on and not worry about the suitors I haven’t yet met.

As soon as Justin has parked the car, I reach for the handle and jump out. Before anyone else has had a chance to climb out, I’m already dropping to my warm-up stretches.

“Not planning to wait for the rest of us?” Gavin asks with a chuckle.

I glance up at him and Conrad just as Ronan helps Natalie step down. “If the four of you don’t know how to stretch, then you’re fucked for the hike.”

“I thought we weren’t supposed to say fucked, little omega?” Conrad asks quietly as he tries to hide his smile.

“Oops?” I shrug with a laugh as Lucas shakes his head. “Luckily, the camera crew is still getting set up.”

“Speaking of,” Natalie says as she drops beside me. “How are they going to carry those massive cameras on a hike? Also, I love how you refused to confirm we were going on a hike.”

“Well, that’s not the only thing we’re doing.” I stick my tongue out at her, laughing when she snaps her teeth at me. “As far as the cameras? They’re going to have us wear cameras, but they’ll also follow us with some much lighter ones. Trust me, this isn’t their first rodeo.”

She laughs, leaning forward to touch her toes. “Oh, I’m aware. I watched the first two seasons. I know they’ve done hikes before; I was just never sure how it worked.”

“You watched too?” I hum at her nod, turning my attention to Ronan. “What about you? Did you watch it, too?”

He laughs. “I did. At first, it was just so she’d leave me alone, but I found myself enthralled in it.”

“What about you two?”

Gavin shakes his head. “I saw a few episodes here and there with my sisters, but it’s not something I set out to watch.”

“I’ve never seen an episode,” Conrad admits. “I came into this completely blind.”

Once we’ve all stretched, Lucas and Justin lead us toward the trail. There is a very good chance that we’ll encounter other people. There was no way to have the trail to ourselves.

As soon as we hit the trail, Justin takes the lead, and Lucas falls back behind us. They stay about ten feet in front of and behind us, trying to allow us privacy for our date, but it’s not like we don’t know they’re there.

Choosing not to allow myself to become annoyed about something I can’t change, I fall into step beside Conrad. “Do you do much hiking?”

He glances over at me with a smile, shaking his head.

“He’s a man of so few words,” Natalie sing-songs as she appears on my other side. “Mysterious. I bet he does it to get all the women.”

Conrad’s laughter starts quiet but grows until he has to stop walking to hold his stomach. A smile lights up my face at the sound, and I know I want to hear more of it. I bet he doesn’t laugh nearly enough, but I want that to change.

“I don’t think it was that funny.” Natalie narrows her eyes at the alpha.

“It’s funny because most women are scared of me—and men. I don’t get many offers, sweet beta.”

Natalie wrinkles her nose. “Awww, he thinks I’m sweet. But that’s their loss and our gain. Right, Evangeline?”

“Abso-fucking-lutely.”

“You’ve seen my alpha.” Natalie hooks a thumb behind her to where Ronan and Gavin are chatting as they follow us. “Most people are scared of him, too. It’s the big dick energy, plus the size and the take-no-shit attitude. Turns me the fuck on.”

“Natalie!” Ronan’s exasperation is clear, and without turning around, I know he’s rolling his eyes.

She just shrugs, glancing between Conrad and me. “Did what I say bother either of you?”

Both Conrad and I shake our heads, but if I’m not mistaken, he’s blushing. That’s adorable.

“You’ll never hear me complain about pretty women hitting on me.” Conrad pauses for another moment before adding, “Or hot men.”

My thighs immediately clench as Natalie grabs my arm. “Did he just—damn. Just when I thought he couldn’t get any hotter.”

“Okay, new topic, please. We still have another fifty minutes of hiking before we stop, and I need to not spend the entire time turned on.”

“Awwww, where’s the fun in that?” Natalie asks, squealing as Ronan’s hand comes down on her ass.

She spins on him with a glare, but he just points at her as he says, “Behave.”

Natalie rolls her eyes but nods as she turns back around. I’m not sure how much longer her being on good behavior will last, but hopefully, it’s long enough for me to get my hormones under control. At least if I start perfuming like crazy, we’re in the wide-open desert.

Somehow, Natalie manages to behave for the rest of the hike. Now, we’re standing at the bottom of a canyon, staring up at the wall we’re meant to climb. The equipment has all been lowered as it’s attached to the plateau at the top where we’ll be eating, but we’re currently waiting for Lucas to finish the climb and give us the all clear before starting our own climbs. Justin is going to stay down at the bottom of the canyon while we all go up.

I don’t understand it, but I know better than to argue. I’m coming to realize that Lucas is extremely worried about my safety, especially since I was hurt on his and Finn’s watch—not that there was anything they could’ve done to prevent the accident from happening. But that’s how alphas are sometimes.

Justin’s phone beeps, and he glances down at it before giving us a thumbs-up. “Lucas says it’s all clear. You’re good to go.”

“Thank goodness. I hate waiting around,” I complain, already moving toward the wall.

“Evangeline,” Conrad’s deep voice and warning tone bring me up short.

Spinning around, I ask, “What?”

“Please let me check your harness?”

“Oh, sure.” I walk back over to him, allowing him to check that I’m all buckled in and that the rope is properly attached. “All good?”

He nods. “All good. Climb safely.”

I shoot him a smile before starting my climb. This particular wall is perfect for climbing with plenty of handholds and footholds, but tall enough that it’s a beast of a climb. It takes me a good thirty minutes to make it to the top, allowing Lucas to pull me to the top.

Spinning around, I see Conrad pulling himself up, with Gavin not too far behind. Natalie and Ronan are about twenty feet below him, and I’m assuming Ronan kept pace with his beta. It’s so sweet when I’m sure he could’ve done it much faster.

“You’re damn fast for an omega,” Gavin pants as he climbs over the lip. “I think Conrad might’ve been able to pass you if he’d started when you did, but there was no way I could’ve. I pushed myself trying to catch up and I couldn’t.”

I beam at him. “I work hard to keep myself in good shape. Thanks for noticing.”

“We all noticed. Trust me.” Conrad chuckles as my cheeks flush, and I bite my lip, unsure what else to say.

Luckily, I’m saved from having to say anything at all as Ronan pulls himself up before leaning over to help Natalie.

She climbs to her feet, running a hand over her forehead. “Damn, that was intense. What kind of masochist plans dates where you sweat this much? At least if I planned a date, we’d enjoy the sweating a whole hell of a lot more.”

Ronan shakes his head. “Sorry, I got her to behave for over an hour—that’s about as good as I can do.”

“That’s okay. I like it when she misbehaves.” I snort, waving everyone toward the tent that’s been set up for us. “There’s air conditioning in the tent, a gorgeous view, and some food. It’s mostly fruit for smoothies and stuff for sandwiches since we still have another hour-long hike back to the car.”

“Air conditioning? You’re a goddess.” Natalie practically sprints to the tent, leaving the rest of us laughing in her wake.

I sigh as I follow her. “I hope she knows we won’t be staying for long. We still have to hike back.”

“She’ll be fine,” Ronan assures me. “We hike regularly, so she knows what to do and what not to do.”

I push aside the fabric covering the door, sighing in relief as the air conditioning hits my skin. After an hour-long hike plus climbing up the wall, sweat covers my skin. I smile when I find Natalie making herself a plate with a sandwich and fruit. “You’re saving some for the rest of us, right?”

“Nope.” Natalie grins at me over her shoulder before moving to sit on one of the bean bag chairs that have been placed around the tent.

When I reach for a plate, Conrad takes it from my hand. “Let me make your plate for you?”

I smile as I turn my head so I can look up at him. “That would be nice. Thank you. I like everything they’re serving, so you can get me whatever.”

“Would you like some cold water?” Gavin offers, holding up a bottle.

I nod as Ronan nudges me toward Natalie. “Have a seat. We’ll bring everything to you. I’m sure Natalie would love some company.”

“Sure would,” the beta calls out.

While I might have spent most of my life taking care of myself, it’s nice to have others taking care of me for once. It’s part of being an omega that I’ve never really experienced before, and I’m finding that I quite like it.

“How’s the food?” I ask as I drop into the chair beside Natalie.

“Delicious,” she says with a grin, her mouth still full, and all I can do is laugh.

A plate appears in front of my face before I can give her a hard time.

“Here.”

I smile up at Conrad, whose tone might sound rude, but I know better. “Thank you, alpha.”

“Welcome.” One side of his mouth turns up for a second, his eyes flashing with desire before he moves to take the seat on Natalie’s other side with his own plate. Ronan sits beside him, and Gavin sits on my free side as he offers me a bottle of water.

“Thank you, Gavin.”

“It was my pleasure.” Gavin’s smile has me melting back into the bean bag chair and running my water over my neck. It really is so unfair how hot the four of them are.

We all fall quiet as we eat our lunch, just enjoying the company. After the days of drama I’ve dealt with, it feels really nice to just sit here in comfortable silence. Once I’ve finished everything on my plate and the water, I lean back further into the chair and watch the others.

Natalie has already finished eating, and I find her eyes on me as well. I send her a quick smile before continuing my perusal. Conrad is on his third sandwich, and he’s so focused on his food that he doesn’t notice as I check him out.

I’m still smiling when my eyes move to Ronan, whose eyes are moving between me and Natalie as he finishes up his food. A sexy smile settles on his lips when his eyes meet mine, and he blows me a kiss. Laughing, I pretend to catch it as my eyes move to Gavin. The last member of our party has somehow managed to finish his food and fallen asleep.

Biting my bottom lip, I turn to Natalie, who’s trying to keep her laughter quiet. As soon as our eyes meet, neither of us can remain quiet. Our laughter fills the tent as Gavin jerks upright.

“I’m awake. I’m awake.”

Snickering, I shake my head. “You might be now, but you definitely weren’t a moment ago.”

His face flushes as he shrugs. “I’ve always been able to sleep in weird places. Plus, power naps are the best.”

“At least you’re cute when you’re sleeping—not a drop of drool to be seen,” Natalie manages to get out between her laughter.

“Don’t be a brat, Natalie,” Ronan warns his beta. “Don’t think I won’t take you over my knee in front of everyone.”

Heat courses through me. “Yes, please.”

My eyes widen as I realize I’ve said that out loud, which is made worse by the fact that I’m also perfuming like crazy. I’m definitely glad I brought the scent-canceling spray.

I laugh nervously as I dig into my backpack. “Don’t mind me. It’s just a byproduct of being an omega. We’re not great at hiding when we’re aroused.”

“We never asked you to hide when you’re aroused, sweet omega,” Ronan says with a purr. “And I promise, we never will.”

“Sure won’t,” Conrad adds, and my eyes jerk up to meet his. The heat in his gaze has me forgetting all about the spray I was reaching for as it’s suddenly hard to breathe.

I feel movement on either side of me as my eyes flicker from Conrad to Ronan and back again. They both look like they want to devour me alive, and I kind of want to say yes. Getting ravished during a hike isn’t on my list, but maybe it should be. I think I’d quite enjoy being ravished right now.

“Omega,” Natalie sings-songs, and I turn my head to find her face right next to mine. “You smell so good.”

I gulp, eyes dropping to her lips before moving back to her eyes. A smile slides across her lips before she leans in and kisses me. My eyes immediately fall shut as I turn in the chair so I can pull her closely. Someone presses against my back moments before a nose drags along the scent gland on my neck. Not breaking the kiss, I take a deep breath and realize it’s Gavin.

His cinnamon and pumpkin scent mixes with Natalie’s birch and maple leaves with pomegranate, juniper berry, and orange blossom scent in an unexpected and extremely pleasant way. Add in Conrad’s pineapple with a citrus touch of cilantro and sweet coconut scent and Ronan’s rich, ripe black cherries, cinnamon, and almond scent, and I’m in heaven.

Gods above, I need to get laid.

Natalie deepens the kiss, her tongue snaking with mine as her hand finds its way under my shirt. Gavin’s tongue traces the lines of my neck and shoulders as he places open-mouthed kisses where he can reach. It doesn’t take long for my scent to overwhelm everyone else’s, and I know there’s a very high chance I’m going to end up sending the alphas into a rut if I don’t stop this now.

I might need to get laid, but I don’t need to sleep with these four the day after I met them. Not to mention, we just don’t have the time. Not if I want to make it back to meet my final four suitors—something I very much want.

I whine as I break away from Natalie’s kiss and shake my head. “As much as I’m loving this, we can’t.”

Natalie and Gavin sigh together, but both move away from me. I snake my hands into my bags and grab both bottles of spray before jumping up. I toss one bottle to Ronan, who catches it easily, before dousing myself in the spray with my back to the rest of them. Closing my eyes, I count to ten and remind myself that there’s more to me than my omega impulses. Just because I love being an omega doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes hate the way my body reacts to stimuli. Or at the least, the fact that it’s nearly impossible to ignore.

“Are you okay, Evangeline?” Natalie asks softly, sounding worried. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t—“

I snort, turning back to them. “You definitely should have. And I’m fine. Things just got heavy a little faster than usual. Is everyone else okay?”

I might be asking them all, but my eyes are on the alphas. While my scent can entice betas, it can cause alphas to go batshit crazy.

“We’re good, little omega,” Conrad assures me as he covers himself with the scent canceler.

“As much fun as that was, we should probably start back,” Ronan says as he stands. “We wouldn’t want to make you late for meeting your final suitors, now would we?”

I shoot him a grateful smile. “And I like to take my time getting ready.”

“Give me your water container and I’ll get it filled with cold water,” Gavin offers, and I bend over to grab it from my bag for him.

Within ten minutes, we’re stepping out of the tent, and it might be springtime, but it’s still hot as hell in the middle of the desert, with the sun beating down on us. I sigh, moving toward Lucas, who’s standing at the edge with a grin on his face.

“Have a good time?” He chuckles.

Rolling my eyes, I start pulling on my harness. “Obviously, you smelled how much of a good time I was having and how it was cut short. Don’t be a smug asshole or I’ll tell Tyler.”

“Dirty pool, Evangeline. Dirty pool.” He winces, shaking his head.

I grin. “Don’t comment on shit that has nothing to do with you, and I won’t have to threaten you with telling your omega.”

“Touché.” Lucas never bothered taking off his harness, so he attaches his rope before helping the rest of us. Then we’re off, plunging back down the wall one jump at a time until we reach the bottom, where Justin waits for us.

Our pace back is slower than earlier, but we still make good time. Comments from all four suitors have definitely gotten more flirty—even from Conrad. Plus, they all keep touching me. I’m so thankful that I layered the scent canceler on pretty well because, by the time we make it back to the SUV, I feel like I’m going to combust.

The moment Lucas has the door open, I dive in and head for the third row of seats. I feel like I’ve been on slow simmer since the kiss in the tent. If I was smart, I’d tell all four of them to sit in the first two rows and to leave me alone. But my mouth remains shut as Natalie sits beside me with Gavin on her other side. Meanwhile, both alphas sit in the second row, turning to glance back at us.

“Evangeline?” Ronan asks cautiously.

“You’re all driving me crazy,” I blurt out, pulling my knees up to my chest. “All the touching and the flirting after what happened in the tent? I feel like I’m going to explode.”

There’s a clearing of a throat from the front of the SUV. “No sex in the car while we’re driving,” Lucas reminds us.

“Then get the fuck out of the car,” Conrad growls as he turns around to pin him and Justin with his glare. “We will not leave her in need like this.”

A whine spills from my lips, cutting off whatever Lucas was about to say. “Yeah. Fine. Just let us know when it’s safe.”

“We can’t fuck in the car,” I cry. “I’m not having sex in the car on my first date with the four of you.”

Ronan chuckles, the sound low and dark. “Oh, we’re not going to fuck you with our cocks in the car, sweet omega. Conrad and I are going to sit right here and watch while Natalie and Gavin take care of you with their mouths and fingers.”

Any argument that I could think of is now gone because that’s exactly what I want. “Yes. That. Please.”

“Come sit in the middle, Evangeline,” Natalie says softly as she drops to kneel in front of the seat she just vacated.

I don’t even hesitate as I take Gavin’s offered hand, and he helps me move to the center seat. Natalie’s fingers make quick work of undoing my shorts, and with Gavin’s assistance, I lift my ass off the seat so she can pull them and my panties over my hips and down my legs.

Natalie leans in, running her nose along my slit before pulling back to grin up at me. “You smell amazing, and I’d bet anything that you taste just as good.”

Before I get a chance to respond, she dives between my legs to lick from ass to clit before sucking it between her lips.

“Ohhhh,” I moan, back arching.

“Don’t mind if I do,” Gavin says with a grin. He pushes up my shirt and yanks down my bra cups before lowering his head to my tit. His tongue flicks out, brushing over my nipple with a barely there touch just as Natalie’s tongue thrusts into my pussy.

“Fuuuuck,” I curse, one hand going to Natalie’s head and one to Gavin’s as he closes his lips around my nipple, sucking and nipping at it while his hand pinches my other nipple.

A deep groan has me lifting my head to the alphas in the row in front of us. Both of their eyes are filled with hunger as they watch the betas work me over with mouths and hands.

“So fucking hot,” Ronan growls, his hand dropping below the seat level. If I have to guess, I’d say he’s adjusting himself in his pants.

Natalie presses two fingers inside of me, fucking me with them as her mouth closes around my clit. She adds a third finger, curling her fingers just right so she hits my G-spot with each pass. I’m so worked up, I know it won’t take long for me to come with both hers and Gavin’s mouths on me.

My eyes fall shut as I grind against Natalie’s face, my orgasm just outside of my reach until her teeth graze my clit, and then I’m falling apart. I scream, long and loud, as I clutch the betas to me, practically humping Natalie’s face. It’s been a while since someone else has given me an orgasm, and I’ve forgotten just how intense they can be.

Coming back to myself, I release my hold on Gavin’s and Natalie’s head and realize that Natalie is humming happily as her tongue glides along my pussy lips.

“So good,” she mumbles. “I could do this all day.”

Ronan chuckles, leaning forward to twist his hands in Natalie’s hair, pulling her away from me. “Okay, you greedy beta. We still need to get her back to the compound so she can get ready. Hopefully, this won’t be the last time you bury your face in that pretty pink pussy.”

Said pussy flutters as my eyes meet his. I lick my lips, ready to ask him to bury his face or his cock inside of me, but Gavin is already righting my clothing.

“Ronan is right,” he says gently when I whine. “We should also spray some scent canceler before getting Lucas and Justin.”

“On it,” Natalie says, reaching for my backpack and pulling out both bottles. Ronan releases her hair to take one of them as they both spray the inside of the SUV.

I’m feeling nice and sated, so I decide to lay my head against the window and close my eyes. I’m already drifting off when I hear Lucas and Justin join us. Someone is talking to them, but I can’t make out the words as I surrender to darkness.
