Chapter 8
CHAPTER EIGHT
FELIX
"She's a delicious little thing," I stated as I watched Alfie flip pancakes.
"So fucking sweet too," Alfie added. "I can't wait to get her out of her shell."
"We need to mark her," Luka growled.
I turned toward him, often forgetting he was in the room because of how silent he was. "So you've decided to keep her then? I was a little worried you'd send her back."
"I'd never send her back to that place," he growled like the very thought was infuriating.
"So you like her?" Alfie probed.
"I don't know her."
"But…" I urged because there was always a but with that type of statement.
"I admit, I would have gotten bored faster than I realized with the type of omega we requested. I'm glad it's her." He sighed. "I'm not displeased by what was given to us."
"She's worried you won't like her. She was insecure about her size last night, afraid to share that detail," Alfie said casually as he flipped his pancakes.
"What? That's ridiculous. The way that her hips curve is like a masterpiece." Luka's eyes burned, and I knew he was thinking about her hips and how perfect they would be to hold as she bounced on our cocks.
"You didn't make her feel like a masterpiece in the office at Omega Industries," I pointed out.
"I'll admit, I was heated. But now that it's over with, I see the errors in my ways." He looked toward the hallway, where our omega was still sleeping. "I'll have to show her differently."
As if she knew she was the object of our obsession, the door down the hall clicked and light streamed through the walkway. I looked up, a smile tugging at my lips, knowing that our omega was about to appear. But when she appeared, I wasn't prepared. My breath stuck in my chest and I forgot to exhale.
"So damn beautiful." Alfie spoke first.
"I couldn't agree more," Luka added as he rose to walk toward her.
I was still frozen, unable to make my mind and mouth connect when Luka reached her. He bent down, his lips brushing against her cheek as he greeted her good morning. Her palm went up, covering the place he kissed, shock making her eyes wide.
Finally, my brain came back online. "Little omega, you're looking ravishing this morning."
She blushed further, as she'd not yet recovered from Luka's kiss. Her pink little tongue came out, swiping against her bottom lip. "Well, I... I didn't get a chance to do better yesterday, so I wanted to make up for it today. I was not prepared at Omega Industries."
"Love, you never need to make anything up to us," I pointed out. "But damn, you sure are a sight to behold."
The dress she wore was cotton, simple, yet it hugged every curve she had, clinging tightly to the flare of her hips and her plump breasts. Her curls were straightened out and the glasses we were so used to seeing, the ones that I was becoming slightly obsessed with, had disappeared. She looked amazing, fucking beautiful... but....
"You are sight, but I adored you just the way you were." I needed to make sure she knew.
When she approached the kitchen, Alfie strolled over, bringing her in for a hug, and kissing her forehead. "You look gorgeous, darling. But I agree with Felix. Don't go to this length on our behalf."
"I just thought?—"
"You're gorgeous," Luka announced when it was clear she was becoming self-conscious. "Thank you, omega."
She nodded once. "You're welcome, Alpha."
"Omega, sit down. We need to talk while we eat breakfast," Luka ordered as he went to the cabinet and took out plates.
"I can get those," our omega offered.
"We can serve you," I reminded her. "It is our honor."
"But an omega's job?—"
"Is what we make it to be," Luka cut her off. "Sit."
I stood, pulling out her chair, which she instantly fell into. Her wide eyes looked up at me. "Thank you, Felix."
Fuck. My name on her lips instantly made my body react and my cock harden. How would her pillowy lips feel against my skin? Would that be inappropriate for an omega?
Alfie rushed forward, plates stacked with food in his hands. "I've made breakfast, Sydney. I hope you like pancakes."
"I do," she confirmed as Alfie already began to fill her plate with pancakes and bacon.
When our omega's plate was full, we loaded our own plates, each of us sitting at the table with her. Luka took the first bite; the rest of us followed, and though she was cautious, I enjoyed seeing our omega eat with us. After she had eaten half her plate, Luka asked, "Omega, what are your plans with us?"
She swallowed hard, panic clear. She reached forward, taking a glass of orange juice in her hand and bringing it to her lips. After gulping it down, she placed her glass back on the table, still not answering.
"Omega."
Another swallow before she managed to reply. "I- I do not know, Alpha. I suppose it's whatever you want it to be."
"You have choices."
"As do you," she replied swiftly before her eyes went wide in panic, like she hadn't meant to say such things to her alpha. And truthfully, he wasn’t used to someone, especially a female, speaking to him in such ways. But she was right; he had choices. Instant regret gave way to her apology. “I’m sorry, Alpha. That was rude. It’s just… we’ve been taught that our choices don’t matter. I am here to please you.”
“And your presence does please me.” Luka didn’t take his eyes off her, the weight of his stare growing heavier by the moment. “I’ll rephrase my question. What is it you’d like to do here? Would you like to be a housewife, like most omegas? That is always an option, but something tells me our omega isn’t one to sit in one place. You could come to work with us, help around the office, though that’s not ideal for most omegas. Do you have other dreams you’d like to chase?”
Her big eyes blinked rapidly before she stuttered out a response. “You-you would let me work?”
“I mean, I would prefer if you’d at least be somewhere where we are so that you aren’t around other males unescorted, but I would let you make the choice.”
Her head bobbed rapidly with her agreement. “Yes. I’d like that. I’d like to explore and work with you if I can. I’ve spent too many years locked away. I don’t want to miss a second of the outside.”
“Then it’s settled.” I gave our girl a beaming smile. “I’ll get first shift with our omega.”
“You wish,” Alfie shot back.
“She will be with me,” Luka boomed. “After she’s marked of course. She can’t leave until then.” Fear suddenly resurfaced on our little omega’s face. Luka caught the look instantly. “You are afraid to bear my mark?”
“I’m…“ She took a deep breath, gathering courage. “I’m afraid you’ll send me back.”
“We can’t send you back once you’re marked, omega. That wouldn’t be fair. Especially to a place like Omega Industries, who aren’t treating our females appropriately.” I leaned in, snagging a piece of uneaten bacon off her plate. “Plus, look at you. We’re lucky to have such an omega.”
“Is it luck if I was the only option offered to you?” She looked down at her lap, her fingers wringing tightly together.
I reached forward, clasping her hands in mine. “It’s fate, actually.”
“Omega.” Luka watched her suspiciously. “Why are you really afraid?”
“I’m broken,” she confessed.
“I’ve heard you say that before,” Luka observed. “Why?”
“Because I am.”
“We’ve already told you that we don’t find your looks to be flawed, omega.” Alfie’s eyes drifted over her. “It’s an asset, if you ask me.”
“That’s not… I mean, I did worry about that. I’m aware of my differences. I am glad that you’ve embraced them.”
“But…” Luka urged.
“But I am broken.”
“You keep saying that like we should know what it means, omega,” Luka growled.
“I- I am broken. I- I hadn’t left the facility because I’d not yet, well- I…” She fumbled over her words, unable to meet our eyes.
“Spit it out, omega,” Luka ordered, his patience gone.
“I’ve not had my heat. I can’t have children,” she admitted, tears streaming down her face before she pushed up from the table and stormed down the hall, back to the safety of her nest.
