Chapter 15
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
ALFIE
I was in a haze. An omega induced haze, and I doubted I ever wanted out of it. Her scent. Her taste. They drove my beta wild, urged me to take what I hadn't yet asked for. I refrained, of course, only taking what my alpha demanded, even when it was nearly impossible not to push our omega further.
So damn gorgeous.
So damn delicious.
So damn ours.
And to think, we almost didn't take her. Almost left her at that awful facility because she didn't fit our description of what we thought we wanted. We didn't want that, didn't want what was written on our damn form. We would have never been happy with a girl that didn't have these curves, or hair that didn't sparkle like spun gold in the sun.
But Sydney... She was perfect.
Luka scooped her off the counter, leaving the mess of syrup and whipped cream to be cleaned later, and carried her down the hallway. Felix and I followed, not wanting to be anywhere our girl wasn't. Not wanting to be parted from our unit when we were just starting to fully feel whole.
In our room, he passed our pallet before he used his foot to nudge open the door to our omega's nest. We followed, waiting for orders, for a command, for any type of guidance on what we should do. We were at her whim, and all she had to do was ask. Her nest was nearly as debilitating as she was. The scent of her so strong I had to grip the doorframe for fear I might crumble.
"Omega," Luka rumbled, the vein in his neck straining as he fought his alpha for control. "I do not think I can leave you."
She snuggled into him, her grip tighter on his neck as she inhaled. She was content, and that was all that truly mattered. But it was hard, impossible really, not to ease my beta's yearning by touching her skin.
"May we sleep in your nest?" Luka finally braved asking, knowing there was a fair chance she could shoot him down. An omega's nest was their sacred territory. But with her being so close to her heat cycle, all we wanted to do was be near her. Hell, it was impossible not to be at this point.
Her head bobbed up and down, and her voice was faint, soft and quiet now that her body was relaxed. "Stay."
The instant Luka heard the word, he sunk to his knees on her pallet, a rumble of happiness echoing through the small space. Her pallet was softer than we were used to, covered in fine cottons and articles of clothing she had snuck in here of ours when she thought we weren't looking. My beta rumbled his delight when I spotted a shirt I had left in the hamper just two days ago. It pleased us that our scent pleased our omega.
I fell to my knees next to her, my fingers instantly reaching for her hand so I could thread our fingers together. "Do you need anything, omega?
Anything at all. Say the word and we'd give her the world. Instead, she shook her head and closed her eyes, a coy smile tugging on her lips. Felix watched her fondly, taking in the details of our naked omega, before he pushed his swim shorts off his hips and stepped onto the pallet.
Our omega opened her eyes at that moment, then her mouth parted in shock at the sight of him. He reached up, pushing some blond curls off her forehead. "Don't worry, omega. I'm going to sleep."
True to his promise, he collapsed beside her, before he slung an arm over her stomach and closed his eyes, humming a low melody that seemed to ease our omega. I watched them while standing next to Luka, feeling myself relax just listening to our delta hum, then I followed Felix's lead, stripping myself of my clothing and settling myself beside Felix. Luka took up her other side, his strong arm strapping her down as he used his free hand to pull blankets over us.
"We will sleep, omega," he promised, and I closed my eyes, feeling myself drift under and the lull of my unit's shallow breaths in the dark.
