Chapter 17 #3
Raising my head, I suck on her nipples, loving her sweet cries. I take my time finding where I want to bite down, choosing the side of her breast. Verona screams as she comes when my teeth break skin, the bond hitting us both.
If I thought it was strong before, I didn’t have a clue. Her orgasm triggers mine, and we both shudder as Pablo finds his release in the shower.
“Holy shit on a cracker,” she whispers, collapsing on top of me as soon as I release her.
“I’m a terrible influence on you,” I tease her, chuckling. “I feel like I can hear colors.”
“Did the bond make you high?” she grins.
“Yes. It's more intense now.”
“Have you two worked up an appetite yet?” Pablo asks a few minutes later as he comes out of the bathroom. There’s been no reason to move, so we’ve been cuddling in the bed.
“Maybe,” I admit, admiring his body as he finishes drying himself with his towel. It could be weird that the three of us are naked, but somehow it’s not. “I suppose we should get up now that I’m feeling better.”
A buzzing sound fills the room and Verona sits up, pushing her hair out of her face as she looks for the location it’s coming from.
“That’s your phone,” Pablo says, his eyes heated as he watches her crawl out of bed. “Ugh. I don’t want to adult now.”
Verona ignores him as she finds her phone, answering the call. Turning, her eyes move up his body lazily, and he simply grins.
“I need to wash my clothes. I was lucky enough to find things in the closet earlier, but I can’t continue wearing random people’s clothing. It kind of freaks me out,” he mutters.
Hanging up the phone, signaling it was a short call, Verona says, “All of the clothing in here has never been worn. Silas made a point to tell me that for some reason. They keep this place fully stocked just in case.”
“No way.”
“Mmhmm. Pack Mayor is unreal. I’m not sure if they have a habit of helping people out who need it, but you can safely wear whatever you want here.”
“People aren’t usually this nice,” Pablo murmurs suspiciously, pulling on a pair of joggers and a t-shirt.
“They haven’t asked for anything that I’m aware of,” I say, sitting up. My hair needs some love. I’m sure it’s tangled all to hell.
“Well, you can decide for yourself. That was Silas, inviting us to a late lunch,” Vero says. “Don’t change, Pablo. I’m going to throw on a sun dress and call it a day.”
“A dress sounds…fancy,” he says distrustfully.
“Dresses are the equivalent to toddler clothing for girls. We just throw it over our heads and call it a day,” I explain, stretching slowly.
Verona and Pablo both stare as my body moves, and I decide that we may not leave if any of us are still naked.
“They’re going to be able to smell what we did if we don’t shower,” she muses.
“Can you be good and not touch?” I tease her. “You’re not being very careful of your stitches. What if you hurt yourself while I was sick?”
“Then Dr. Walsh would fix me up. I promise, I’m fine. I can shower without wrapping my side anymore. The time when I could have gotten an infection is long past. I’m going to end up with a really ugly scar, but that’s all.”
Pursing my lips, I shake my head. “I doubt it’ll be ugly. You couldn’t ever be anything less than beautiful to me.”
Getting up, I grab her hand and drag her into the shower. We both behave and manage to walk out of the guest house in under fifteen minutes. I didn’t even get my hair wet and brushed the tangles out.
See? I can hurry when necessary.
The flip flops on my feet slap against the flagstones as we walk, and Verona stays nearby in case I trip. Pablo notices what she’s doing, and he slides my hand into his.
“We’re in no hurry,” he murmurs. “I feel like I’m headed to the firing squad though.”
“They know you’re here,” Vero says with a smile. “The food that kept appearing wasn’t a magical food fairy, Pablo.”
“Where’s the whimsy, Verona? A food fairy would be so cool.”
I can’t help but enjoy their banter. It’s nice to watch Vero blush and tease with someone else. I’m not at all jealous. Not when they share me so well together.
My alpha’s nostrils flare, and she raises her brow at me suggestively.
“No teasing,” I giggle. “I can’t help it.”
“I know. I love knowing you want us.”
Easton is standing at the back door outside, and he hands me a tube of something before giving me some space. Glancing down, I realize it’s alpha pheromone blocker cream.
“It’ll allow you to ease into being around alphas,” he explains, watching as I open the tube and dab a little underneath my nostrils.
It’s the same thing I do when my father isn’t watching for dead body break down, but I’m not going to tell him that.
The products may be different, but the motion isn’t.
“It works quickly without being habit forming. Please, keep the bottle.”
“All good, thank you. I wouldn’t have thought of this.”
“I’ll hold onto it for you,” Pablo murmurs, pocketing it for me.
“And so we meet again,” Easton teases him, chuckling under his breath when Pablo cringes. “You’re persistent, I’ll give you that.”
“Ah, thanks. I’d apologize for jumping the fences, but I’m not really sorry.”
I elbow Pablo in the side, but Easton just ushers us in, highly amused.
At least I won’t pass out at this meeting. Hopefully.
