CHAPTER FIFTEEN #2
"Do you agree or not? I won't ask again," I told him, letting ice creep into my tone.
Sobbing, he whispered, "I agree."
Smiling in triumph, I conjured the antidote and whispered a binding spell over it. If he broke any of those conditions, the poison would kick in, and he'd have to seek me out for another antidote.
I gave him the pill, watching as he popped it into his mouth. The bleeding from his ears ceased almost immediately, and his features relaxed as the pain subsided. The poison had never been lethal.
I wasn't about to risk harming my mates through the royal edict by actually killing Kwang. But he didn't need to know that. The binding spell and the fear it would instill were real enough.
And if he called my bluff and tried to ignore my conditions, the pain would eventually force him into a coma. Not death. But close enough.
"Now leave," Moon told him. "And don't come back. I'll have the emperor send someone else to lead the envoy."
Kwang slowly rose to his feet, his dignity in tatters but his life intact. His glare landed on me. I smiled and waved at him.
“You bitc....” Kwang started.
"Crawl out!" Moon ordered, his alpha bark so strong that it forced Kwang to his knees.
The power in his voice almost made my knees buckle, and the command hadn't even been directed at me. On his hands and knees, Kwang crawled from the room, his shoulders shaking with silent sobs.
For all his crimes, this punishment, living with his failure and humiliation, seemed far more fitting than a quick death. Azura thanked me once more before whispering a spell and disappearing in a shimmer of magic.
She was finally free from the evil prince, free to reclaim her birthright and rebuild what had been taken from her. The other members of the envoy had already rushed from the room during the commotion. I watched as Kwang crawled out the door.
"Should we follow him?" I asked my alphas.
Moon pulled me into his arms, his warmth enveloping me.
"No, love. My guards have been instructed to escort him away from the border.
Now that his guards are dead, he'll have to fend for himself on his way back to the capital.
" He pressed a kiss to my cheek, his lips soft against my skin.
"Thank you for the way you handled this," he told me, pride evident in his voice.
"We couldn't have brought him down without you, princess. "
I beamed up at him. "You're welcome, alpha. I'll do anything to keep the two of you safe."
Ryung was about to say something, but he paused. He inhaled deeply beside Moon and me, then moved closer. He took another deep breath, his eyes widening as they dropped to my belly.
"I think we have one more person to keep safe. Maybe two. It's too early to tell," he said, his voice filled with wonder.
I frowned, not understanding. "What are you talking about?"
Moon's eyes widened, and he went to his knees in front of me, pressing his face against my stomach.
"I smell it," Moon said with a sigh of pure joy. "I think it's two."
"Two what?" I started, then paused as his meaning sank in. My heart seemed to stop for a moment before racing. "Are you serious?" I asked, looking from Moon to Ryung in disbelief.
Both alphas had silly, besotted grins on their faces, confirming what I could hardly believe.
"Am I... going to be a mama?" I whispered, my voice breaking on the question.
This was too much. How was so much good happening to me at one time? It was kind of scary. But I loved it. After a lifetime of being told I was defective, broken, that I would never have what other omegas had, here I was, pregnant with not one but possibly two babies.
Moon picked me up and swung me around, his joy bubbling through our bond and infecting me with its warmth.
"Careful with our princess," Ryung yelled, placing his hand on my back as Moon hugged me close.
I felt Ryung's chest against my back. I was caged in between my mates, and they were telling me all the things they needed to do to make the tower safer for our young and me. All I could do was stand there in shock, tears spilling down my face.
I was about to be a mom. A month ago, I'd felt hopeless, craving something I thought I could never have. Now look at me, blessed beyond measure. I was so damn thankful I hadn't given up on life all those years ago.
I wished I could talk to younger me and let her know it would be okay, it would get better, and we wouldn't be alone forever.
If I could tell younger me one thing, it would be: stay strong, little witch, one day you'll find alphas who'll love you just the way you are, and you'll have a family of your own to cherish the way your family never cherished you.
“Going forward, no killing in the tower,” I whispered, already wanting to be better for our children. “I don’t want our kids to see that side of us when they’re young.”
“Yes, my little murderous omega,” Ryung muttered.
“Your wish is my command, my assassin princess,” Moon told me as my imugi slithered down to my stomach, resting there, protecting our young.
Closing my eyes, I embraced the love of my mates, my new family, my safe haven. This former cold omega had found her happily ever after. And it was better than any fairytale I'd ever read.
