Chapter 37

KYLIE

Patrick had an early morning meeting on Monday.

I had yet to hear my fate regarding my job.

So much had happened in a weekend. I betrayed my bosses; lost the respect of the people I vowed to protect.

I had misread and misjudged everyone around me while still harboring feelings of jealousy and resentment for what they had that I never thought I deserved.

In between all of that, I found my little inside of me, and the love of my life who wanted to be my forever daddy. Those people I envied and betrayed forgave me. It’s a wonder I didn’t feel exhausted this morning. Daddy did a great job of wearing me out. Last night, I slept like a baby.

This morning, it rushed back in. The guilt, the insecurity, the tension that coiled tighter in my stomach with each passing moment. The sun streamed through the blinds, casting stripes of light across the room, illuminating the remnants of last night’s decision. My suitcases lined up near the door.

I glanced at the clock; the ticking hands reminding me it was time to face whatever awaited me.

I crawled out of bed.

He had given me no instructions this morning, so I tackled my usual routine.

I dressed in office-appropriate attire: a thin black-and-white striped sweater and black slacks that hit my ankles.

A pair of black loafers finished the look.

I grabbed my bag, made sure I hadn’t forgotten anything, and headed down and then back up to the third floor.

As soon as I stepped off the elevator, something felt different. The hallways were busy but tense.

Did they seem shocked to see me? Had words spread already about my actions on Friday? I hoped I could keep it our little secret, but that was wishful thinking.

I passed Patrick’s office. Collin sat at his desk; he perked up when he spotted me.

“Kylie.” He shuffled some papers. “I’m supposed to announce you when you arrive.”

“Announce me.” What, was I being presented to the royal court? “Can I set my stuff down?” I pointed in the direction of my office. We both looked and the people in the hallway scattered.

“No, he said as soon as you arrived, to announce you.” Collin tapped something on his phone.

A few seconds later, the door opened. It wasn't Patrick. It was Kyler. I finally understood the source of their apprehension.

“Kylie.” He stepped to the side. “Would you join us, please?” It wasn’t a question.

Patrick sat behind his desk. Josh in a grey suit paced. I stepped through the door and spotted Tyler and Chandler lounging on the small couch near the window. Tyler looked like he’s had a late night at Quad IV, in jeans and a wrinkled black button-down shirt.

Randall perched himself to the right of the door.

I’d never seen him in person. His brothers were handsome in that obvious, symmetrical way, but Randall’s face made you work for it: a firm jaw that was slightly too wide, deep-set eyes under a heavy brow, a nose that had been broken at least once.

The kind of face that got more interesting the longer you looked at it.

Despite his and Chandler being twins, they looked the least like each other.

“Hello everyone.” I waved. My voice sounded weak even to my own ears. They all looked so serious, except Tyler and my daddy. Was he the only friend I had?

“Please, Kylie.” Patrick waved me over. “Have a seat.”

A chair was set up on the left side of his desk, facing out. I took it.

It was Kyler’s turn to talk. “We called a meeting this morning to discuss your future here at Grant Enterprises.” He sat down in the chair closest to me.

“Jeez, Kyler,” Tyler chimed in. “Get on with it, you’re scaring the girl to death.”

Kyler shot him a look, but Tyler waved it off.

“You’re not scared of me, are you, Kylie?” Kyler scowled for good measure, and it made me laugh.

“I mean, you’re not giving off warm fuzzies, but no, I’m not scared.”

He snickered at my answer.

Josh spoke next. “We discussed whether at this time you should be employed here.” He sat in the chair next to Kyler, both facing me.

“Yesterday, with the hint of a threat, we were all impressed with how you fell right in to protect our girls. Your instincts kicked in, you didn’t hesitate. You performed exemplarily.”

I caught Tyler’s expression; he was in the middle of a dramatic eye-roll. I covered my mouth to keep from giggling. A bit of nervousness lingered within me, a remnant from the events following the resolution of the Charlotte situation.

But then the morning came, and I was smack dab into the real world again.

I just wish they would tell me already.

“We’ve decided you will no longer be employed by Grant Enterprises in security.”

My heart dropped, and by the look on the guys’ faces, my whole body must have dropped with it.

“Kyler,” Patrick, Josh, and Randall all said in unison.

He looked up at Josh with his hands held out as if to ask What did I say?

“Kylie,” Patrick spoke. I couldn’t look at him. He had really fired me. It didn’t mean Patrick was sending me away, but I was still disappointed.

“We are going to have your employment transferred to the Grant Foundation,” Patrick continued.

“That way it offers some separation between you and me, but we’d still like you to contract with security on an as-needed basis.” Patrick reached out his hand. I took it.

“Not so much a bodyguard, but a companion to the girls,” Josh said.

“Who can also carry a gun,” Tyler added.

“Josh is going to become the head of the foundation.” Kyler looked at Patrick. “So, you will essentially work for him.” He shrugged. “The foundation is based in New York.”

“But where would I work?” I turned to Josh.

“You don’t have to move back to New York, but we may require you to be there from time to time.” Josh stood up. “As far as your residence is concerned, I’ll let your daddy decide that.”

I knew my cheeks were a deep shade of red.

“Kylie, why don’t you get settled with this news and let me know if you are good with it by this afternoon.” He looked at his phone. “I’m free at two pm if that works for you.”

I looked at Patrick. He nodded, not in a giving permission way, but in a this is a good thing kind of way. I relaxed a bit. “Two is fine.”

“Great.” He waved and shuffled out the door. The rest of the team followed. Tyler and Randall stayed behind for a minute. “Welcome to the team.” Tyler pushed his floppy hair out of his face, and he reached down and hugged me. When he was done, he patted me on the head and skipped out the door.

“Let me know when you have some time,” Randall said. “I want to talk to you about some tech stuff.” He nodded to Patrick. “Stuff he wouldn’t understand. I’ll call you.”

“Nice to meet you, Randall,” I said.

“You too, kid.”

He left and shut the door behind him.

“I’m not sure what just happened.” I flopped into the chair and put my head in my hands.

“Nothing will change for you.” Patrick stood and walked around his desk.

I peeked up and watched as he smoothed his button-down blue and white striped shirt.

It picked up the blue in his eyes. His sleeves rolled up to mid-forearm, offering my favorite office-appropriate arm candy. “It sucks for me.”

I blinked. “Why?”

“I only get to boss you around at home.” He knelt beside me. “No longer at work. Well, not about work anyway.”

“Yeah, it sucks for you.” I smirked. I wrapped my arms around Patrick’s neck, and he held me to him.

“We will still collaborate, but I think it will be a good thing for you. Give you a little separation between big Kylie and little Kylie. Unless you want to be little all the time.”

I had thought about it since being here. Seeing Rayna and Tinley embrace their little gave me immense joy, though I knew it wasn’t the path for me, at least not yet.

“No. I think I enjoy having the two sides of me.” I leaned back and looked into his eyes. “Daddy, you’ll just have to practice helping me switch from big to little.”

“And how do we go about practicing?” He ran his knuckles down my cheek. It sent a shiver through my body.

“Well,” I laid my head on his shoulder. He rubbed my back. “Now I feel very little.” But then I stuck my tongue out and licked Patrick's skin, nibbling on the spot where his neck and shoulders met.

“And now?” He tilted his head while his hands moved around to cup my breasts.

“Not so little.”

He stood and lifted me in his arms. I wrapped my legs around his waist. “See, now really little, Daddy.”

He set me on his desk and covered my mouth with his, and rocked his hips against my core.

“How about now?” He pushed up my sweater and slid his tongue over the mound of my breast.

“Not so little, Daddy.” I reached between us, but Patrick grabbed my hands and placed them over my head. It reminded me of our first time.

Patrick laid his forehead against mine and closed his eyes.

“What’s wrong, Daddy?” I pouted. He kissed me before answering me.

“I think this situation right here is what our new arrangement was supposed to avoid.” He looked down at me. “You’re just so tempting. But we shouldn’t be doing this. Not here.” He kissed me on the cheek and stood up, bringing me with him.

“Well, Daddy.” I peeked up at him and his handsome face. Trying to do the right thing. “Technically, I haven’t accepted the new job. Since they let me go from my old one, I think we are free to do what we want.”

I reached for his pants again and unbuttoned them, cupping his cock through his briefs. “I won’t tell if you won’t, Daddy.”

He captured my mouth in a searing kiss, while pressing his hand down my pants, rubbing my pussy.

“You’re already wet for me.”

“Always for you.”

“That’s my good little sneak.”
