CLYNT

M y mate stared at me with a hungry gaze.

I knew my words were forward, even for a fated pair.

There was no stopping them though.

It was like his scent cut off my brain to mouth filter.

Everything I was thinking came right out.

Even my wolf was panting with need for the man in front of us.

He wanted him just as much as I did.

“Is that so?’

I nodded at the question, pressing myself closer to him. We were far too clothed for my liking. I wanted him naked and knotted inside me now.

Patience be damned.

“Alpha,” I purred as I ran a hand up his impressive chest.

“I would like to finish our bond. Is there someone who could take care of the store for you?”

He shook his head, then growled.

The sound made the hand I had on his chest vibrate.

It was unexpectedly salacious.

“Fuck that. I’m not waiting for someone to come.” He reached up to take my hand, then he proceeded to drag me around the store while he shut things down.

It was still early in the day.

I figured he would have several more hours to go before he could close up, hence why I asked if he had backup to help.

As I watched him take care of everything and hastily write a note claiming to be closed temporarily, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace.

The heartache I’d been experiencing withered away at the connection I was sure had to be growing between us.

Simply touching him set me on fire.

What would fucking him and biting him be like?

I might explode.

“Mate,” his words were more animalistic than before.

His Alpha had to be riding him hard.

“Yes?”

He grinned as he pulled me through the door.

“I was asking if you drove. We can come back for your car later. I don’t think I can let you go right now.”

I smiled big at his words.

“You don’t have to let me go, Alpha. I’m all yours. Don’t worry about my car. I’ll text Kris to come get it with Judy later.”

“Excellent idea. And maybe tell them you won’t be back for a few days to get your stuff.”

Oh, yeah.

That was something they needed to know.

He rushed us over to his car, which was in the parking area across the street from the shop.

It was a lot meant to give people a place to leave their cars while they explored the shops.

I’d never been more thankful for a spot being so close.

My cock was hard and aching.

Too much walking would only make it worse.

Hell, I could wind up coming before he even touched me with the way things were going so far.

His presence alone sent me close to the edge.

Not to mention his hand holding mine so firmly, like he was afraid I’d disappear.

In the car, he made sure I was buckled in before pulling away.

I tugged my phone out with my free hand and dialed Kris.

He answered on the second ring.

“What’s up? Everything ok?”

“Hey, Kris. Sorry to interrupt your morning. I just wanted to let you know I won’t be back to the house for a couple of days. Can you come down to the bookshop to grab my car?”

Kris chuckled.

“Well, crap. What happened? Is it a flat? I can definitely change it for you. Anything more and I’ll need to call a mechanic.”

“It’s nothing like that. I’m leaving it there while Maklihn drives us to his place. Leaving it for a bit is fine, but days might not be.”

“Days?”

“Yeah,” I said carefully.

Kris and Judy were fated, which meant he had some idea of what I was going through.

If nothing else, I trusted my cousin would keep him in line if he tried to give me shit.

“Wait, Maklihn? Why are you with him?”

The man he mentioned reached over and snagged the phone from my grip.

I whined loudly since the move came at the expense of him dropping my hand.

I was not a fan of that change.

“Easy, Omega. I’m right here,” he told me before putting the device on speaker.

Watching him navigate through town while taking over the call sent my slick production into overdrive.

I was a fucking waterfall in my pants.

Hopefully it wasn’t going to ruin his seats, but damn if I didn’t sort of like the idea.

It would be another claiming mark from me for anyone else who rode with him.

Not that anyone would need to.

This passenger seat had just become my designated spot.

Why would I ever need to drive again with an Alpha like Maklihn to take care of me?

I knew my thoughts were going off the deep end.

It was something I was far too aware of given the state of need building inside me.

But I didn’t care.

“Kris, it’s me,” my mate said.

“Hey, man. What’s going on? Why do you have Clynt with you?”

Maklihn let out a loud breath.

“Funny thing about that. He came into the shop today and long story short, he’s my fated mate. We’re heading to my place now. It may be a bit before we come up for air.”

Kris whistled.

“ Holy shit! That’s awesome! I know you’ve been waiting for a while. How does he feel about it? You two need anything?”

“I’m good. Just need Alpha. Bye, Kris!”

Snatching the phone away, I ended the call before lacing my fingers with my mate’s again.

I sighed the second we were connected.

His touch brought me that much peace.

It was euphoric.

“You’re going to be a handful, Omega. We’ll need to apologize to Kris later for your rudeness.”

I nodded, eager to agree as he pulled into a driveway.

The house was simple on the outside, yet I couldn’t help but admit there was a welcoming presence about it that made my heart soar.

This was a home.

It was my mate’s home.

Now, it would be my home.

One where we’d become fully mated, where we’d conceive children, where we’d raise our family.

It was going to the place where our most precious memories were made.

Tears filled my eyes at the thought.

When Maklihn rounded the car and found me in distress, he panicked.

“What’s wrong? I’ll fix it. Whatever it is, we can change it.”

I gave a watery laugh at his words.

“You don’t need to change anything. I love it all so much.”

“Then why the tears, mate?”

“They’re happy tears. I’m overwhelmed with happiness for this moment.”

My Alpha grinned at my reply.

He tugged me from the car, then lifted me into a bridal style carry.

I laughed as he jogged us over to the front door.

“Welcome home, mate. I hope you like it here.”

He crossed into the house and immediately I felt relief settle over me.

While the space wasn’t decorated like any of those design shows I’d been obsessed with in my teen years, it’s definitely a home with really good bones.

The rustic style makes me want to wrap myself in a blanket and nest right in the living room.

Maybe some other time.

I had a knot to ride.

Remembering the excitement from earlier, I faced my mate with a mischievous grin.

“I’d love a tour. Can we start with the bedroom?”

His burst of laughter felt like I’d just won a gold medal in relationships.

I’m totally crushing this mate business.

Maklihn set off down a short hall and then to the right.

There was an open door, which led to the main bedroom.

I only got a second to take in the earth tone bedding and the black and white photos on the wall before I was tossed onto the bed.

I squealed at the quick movement.

It cut off quickly when he climbed onto the bed and hovered over me.

His eyes ate up every inch of my body as I squirmed beneath him.

I needed him to do something.

Anything.

Kiss me.

Touch me.

Lick me.

Knot me.

“Alpha,” I breathed.

“I need you.”
