8. Parker
Wrapping my arms around Hazel, I kiss his shoulder as he stares at himself in the mirror after trying on one of his new outfits we got while out at the shopping center yesterday.
He's been here for almost a month, and I don't see him leaving anytime soon.
They do say when you purchase a bunny it's a lifetime commitment and when I look at him smiling up at me, it's exactly what I'm preparing to give him. I haven't told him yet though because I don't want to scare him away. I do make sure to let him know how much I love having him here though by showering him with lots of kisses and hugs.
Touching has always been my love language, and I am happy to have found someone who enjoys letting me do it as much as I want. He leans back into me, staring down at his stomach with a frown. He has put on some weight lately and is more beautiful than ever with a slight glow to his skin. The added pounds seem to bother him though, and he rubs at it as if expecting it to go away when he does.
I lay a hand over his and press a kiss to his cheek, smiling. “You look wonderful, little one.”
“I'm up another size,” he whines, shoving my hand away and I put it back, slipping it under his shirt.
“Are you? I haven't noticed,” I lie, giving him another sweet kiss because I really do think he's perfect the way he is and who knows being with another person could make every day feel like the best day on earth. It's because he really is the right person. He was on the first tomorrow and will be on the next hundred too.
He rolls his eyes, blowing out a breath and his expression grows worried when he looks down again. “I have to tell you something. I should have said something as soon as I felt it, but I wanted to be sure. I didn't...” He takes a breath and continues again, looking away from me. “I wasn't sure human tests would work the same way.”
My brows shoot up and I lean back. “Human tests? What do you mean?”
“I…” He nibbles on his bottom lip, nose wiggling. “I didn't think it was possible, but turns out my parents were wrong. Omegas where I'm from are made to carry babies. Sometimes multiple, depending on their animal form.”
My heart jumps and my face wrinkles in confusion. “Are you saying…” I swallow hard and try again. “Are you telling me you can get pregnant?”
“Yes. But it's only supposed to be possible with my own kind. I think there's at least three in there.”
Gobsmacked, my mouth gapes and my hand freezes on his belly. “I want to say that's impossible, but you have shifted into a rabbit in front of me, so I'm not sure anything is at this point.”
“I understand if you want me to return home now. I know it's a lot to take in and it's probably best I return before they are born.”
My heart stops and I move my hand again. “Why would I want that?”
“Why would you want me?” He spins around, eyes locking on mine and watering.
I lower my face to his, sweeping a thumb over his cheek. “Because I can't think of a single reason I shouldn't. I know I should freak out, but I think you've prepared me from the very beginning to always expect the unexpected. And having three more of you sounds so much better than none of you and you all get to be mine.”
His eyes sparkle. “Does that mean you’re ours too?”
“For as long as you all will have me.”
“Prepare for that to be a very long time.”
“What about your pack?”
“Eventually I'll have to deal with them but that can wait until tomorrow.”
My heart soars when he kisses me and something in his stomach kicks at my hand when I lay it over his shirt. Yeah, tomorrow. It'll all be figured out then but right now we'll play it by ear, and I'll take each new crazy surprise with him as they come. Because like he said, I was made for him and whenever our bodies connect ever so perfectly, my heart in syncs with his saying he was made for me too.
Thanks for reading my story!
