Chapter 8
EIGHT
NOVA
It’s just a kiss. There’s nothing weird about kissing my foster brother. It’ll mean nothing to us. I repeat this in my head as I cling to Aiden. His lips move, but I don’t hear anything he’s saying.
He stops talking. His eyebrows bunch together, and concern tightens the corners of his eyes. I shudder as he brushes his knuckles along my cheek.
“You with me, Nova?” he murmurs.
I nod and blink a couple of times to clear my head.
Aiden cups the back of my neck and holds my waist with his other hand.
It’s intimate, but it’s nothing new. I tighten my arms around his shoulders and sit straighter.
The movement drags my core against his erection, which strains against his thin basketball shorts.
He’s been hard ever since I sat on his lap, and I’ve been pretending I don’t feel it.
He’s a guy, and he can’t help how his body responds. I’m sure he was embarrassed about it at first, but now that I haven’t said anything, he’s relaxed more. So, mission accomplished.
“You sure you wanna do this?” he asks.
“Yes.”
Aiden tilts his head as if he’s questioning my answer.
I poke his bare chest. “Do you not want to? It’s fine if you don’t. I get it. I’m your sister and—”
I squeak as Aiden pulls me toward him until my breasts flatten against his chest and his mouth hovers beside my ear. “If anyone is going to teach you how to kiss, it’ll be me. I don’t give a damn if you’re my sister or not.”
My heart pounds against my ribcage like a drum that I’m positive Aiden can feel against his chest.
He slips his hand from my waist to my lower back. “I thought I made it clear that our sibling relationship doesn’t matter when I offered to teach you things in bed. That offer still stands, by the way, in case you ever change your mind about the no-sex rule.”
I hold my breath, unable to come up with a response.
Aiden leans back to look at me, then moves on like he didn’t just admit to wanting to sleep with me. “We’re going to start small. I’ll press my lips to yours and hold still. Once you get comfortable with the feeling, pull away, and then we’ll start the next step.”
“Sounds easy enough.”
He graces me with his playboy smile and threads his fingers through my hair to hold me in place. My eyelashes flutter as he inches forward, and his nose bumps against mine. I wait for his lips to touch mine, but it never happens. Opening my eyes, I find him watching me with amusement.
“Relax. It’s just a kiss,” he murmurs and bumps his nose against mine again in a gentle nuzzle.
I huff. “I am relaxed.”
He grins and brushes his lips against the corner of my mouth. “Breathe.” He kisses the other corner. “I’ve got you.”
I close my eyes and bask in the affection he rains on me. I melt in his arms and follow his whispered instructions to relax. He hums, pleased with my response, and kisses all over my face to give me more time to prepare mentally.
Being kissed by him shouldn’t be a huge deal, but it is, and he knows this. He didn’t have to make this special or take his time to teach me anything, but he is, and I can’t thank him enough.
“Ready?” he whispers.
I nod, not bothering to open my eyes. “Just kiss me already.”
His soft chuckle vibrates through my chest and straight to my racing heart.
I suck in a breath as his lips press against mine and remain there.
My stomach somersaults, and my mind blanks.
I try to imagine it’s Brandon, but all I can smell is Aiden.
All I can feel is his hard body pressed against mine.
His lips are soft as silk. His warm breaths fan against my lips, slow and steady, the calm in the turbulent storm I’m suddenly thrown into. I tighten my hold around his shoulders, and he matches the same grip in my hair as he holds me in place.
I’m supposed to get used to this, but I don’t know if I can when I want to toss this whole step-taking aside and leap right into the deep end with him.
I drop my hands to his chest and gently push him away to let him know I’m ready for the next part.
He leans back and licks his bottom lip. “How did that feel?”
“Good.” I curl my fingers into his chest to stop myself from tugging on my hair.
“You ready for the next step?”
I nod.
He tucks a lock of hair behind my ear. “When I kiss you again, I’ll tease your lips with my tongue for you to let me in. From there, we’ll tangle our tongues together.”
I swallow hard and nod, unable to form words.
He notices and cups my cheeks with both hands. “Follow my lead. I’ll take it slow, and we can work up from there.”
“I trust you,” I say.
Aiden’s chest puffs out in pride, and he grins. “Good.”
His hand slips behind my head, and he drags me in before his mouth descends on mine. The overwhelming euphoria and nerves return, but it’s ten times better this time around.
Aiden’s tongue teases my bottom lip, like he said it would.
I open my mouth and shudder as his tongue shoves past my lips and tangles with mine.
He takes it slowly, allowing me time to get used to the pace.
I cling to him, unsure if I’m strangling him from how tightly I’m holding him.
If I am, Aiden doesn’t show any signs of discomfort; he just continues kissing me like a madman.
Every time I let out a shaky breath, he breathes it in and shares his frantic breaths with me. A whimper escapes me, and he greedily swallows, the sound spurring him to deepen the kiss.
Warmth fills my chest and stomach, a feeling that was always reserved for Brandon whenever I talk to him. My cheeks warm with a blush as I realize that I’m getting turned on by kissing my brother.
Aiden groans into my mouth as I shift my hips to stop the throbbing in my clit. His hard dick twitches against my center, as if it’s responding to my arousal. His hand on my hip squeezes, and he rocks me back and forth on him to grind my pussy against his erection.
Can he feel the heartbeat between my legs?
The question fades as quickly as it came as Aiden fists my hair and jerks my head at an angle for better access. He leans forward, like he’s chasing me for more until my spine is bent and I’m gripping him so that I don’t fall off his lap.
This is all an act to him, I remind myself. He’s showing me how Brandon will react when we kiss. But goddamn, Aiden is a great actor. I’d almost believe he’s really into this, that he actually enjoys kissing me.
Aiden catches my bottom lip between his teeth in a soft nip, then releases it with a pop.
He dives in for another kiss, his tongue shoving past my bruised, parted lips to explore my mouth.
Every kiss is forceful and full of desperation as he consumes my every breath and controls the frenzied pace.
All I can do is try to keep up and take gasping breaths when I can so I don’t suffocate.
“You’re doing so good for me, pretty girl,” Aiden murmurs between kisses. “So”—kiss—“fucking”—kiss—“good.”
Pride swells in my chest at his praises. I grab a fistful of his hair and tug at the strands, earning a groan from him that travels straight between my legs.
His fingers clench my love-handle, and he slows the pace.
“You wanna know how to drive a man wild while kissing him in this position?” he whispers against my lips.
I nod and gulp deep breaths. “Yes.”
“Keep rocking your hips. Tease him and give him a taste of what it’ll be like when you ride him.” Aiden nips my bottom lip, then swipes his tongue over it to soothe the sting.
I hesitate for a moment. It’s hard to tell if he’s giving advice or hinting that I should grind against him.
He covers my lips with his, and I pull back before he can shove his tongue into my mouth again. If he keeps kissing me, I’ll forget the no-sex rule. Thinking clearly is hard enough when he’s kissing me like he can’t breathe without me.
Taking the hint, Aiden relaxes into the seat, his back thumping against the cushion. He settles both hands on my waist, his thumbs rubbing my bare skin as he licks his bottom lip with a smirk. The whole time, his eyes remain on me.
“I think you got it down.” Aiden rolls his lips together. “You ready to take pictures?”
I push aside the weird feelings settling in my stomach, then nod. “Yeah.”
“Good.” He jerks his chin toward the computer behind me. “Pretend you’re playing, and I’ll do the rest.”
I untangle myself from his arms and turn on his lap so I’m sitting with my back facing him again. My eyes slide shut for a moment as I find momentary relief from the weight of his hooded stare. I don’t want him to see how that kiss affected me.
While Aiden shifts to get his phone, I jiggle the mouse to wake up the computer. Aiden hooks his arm around my middle and lays his palm flat against my cleavage, then draws me backward until my back is flush to his chest.
“Remember what I said,” he whispers, then holds his phone above us. “We’re now a couple. Everything I say and do from now on will be as your boyfriend.”
I huff and lean forward to act like I’m in the zone with a game. “I get it. You don’t need to keep warning me like you’re about to do horrible things to me.”
The only indication of Aiden’s next move is his dark chuckle.
