“Y ou look like you got thoroughly fucked this weekend,” Meila stated as she walked into Aiva’s office.
Aiva looked up from her computer with a raised brow at her sister. “We need to talk about this lack of filter you have in the workplace.”
“It’s not like I’m going to get fired, and don’t change the subject,” Meila said, taking a seat. “Spill the tea.”
“There isn’t much to spill. Knox and I went to a vineyard on Saturday, and he spent the night with me.”
“Spent the night with you or in you?” her sister asked with a sly smile.
“Both.”
“I knew it. You have this ‘I’ve been sufficiently satisfied’ aura to you. I could almost smell the sex on you.”
“Now you’re just being overly dramatic,” Aiva scoffed.
“Maybe, but I wasn’t wrong. So, I take it, it was good?
Her sister was fishing for details, and she would not give them to her at work, especially when she had a client due in ten minutes. “You said yourself I looked like I’d been thoroughly satisfied,” Aiva said.
“We are having dinner tonight, my dear sister, and you’ll give me the sorted details. I need to live vicariously through you.”
Meila rose from the chair and exited the office before Aiva could respond, and she returned her attention to the proposal she’d received. She had a client trying to set up a custody agreement with their ex-husband, but they weren’t having much luck. He wanted the children every other weekend, which her client was fine with, but he also wanted them on their birthdays and holidays. That her client was not having, and Aiva couldn’t blame her. She saw no reason for him to get all the significant days in the children’s lives.
Her client wanted to rotate the holidays, come together, and be cordial on the children’s birthdays, so they had both parents with them. It was a fair offer, and the man was being stubborn. Aiva was tired of going back and forth with his lawyer because they were each reiterating their client’s position. However, she could tell the opposing council was tired of their client. At this rate, they’d be going before a judge, and she didn’t see them giving the man what he wanted. She was sure that was why he’d tried extending negotiations and had done more mediation than she would have liked.
Aiva responded to the current proposal in much the same way as the previous ones. However, she let it be known that the upcoming mediation would be their last, and if they couldn’t agree, she would file a petition with the courts to go before a judge.
Once she sent her reply, she double-checked that she had everything she needed for her upcoming meeting. It wouldn’t take too long for them to go over everything. They were due at court tomorrow morning, and she wanted to let them know what to expect and go over the process with them again. She’d just finished checking when Finx buzzed her and stated her client had arrived.
“ T o have been a fly on that wall,” Meila stated as they had dessert. “I’m surprised that you aren’t exhausted.”
“I spent the better part of Sunday lazing around. He made us breakfast that morning, and then he had to pick up Yasmine. After he left, I grabbed a throw blanket, made myself comfortable on the couch, and watched Law my man is sending thank you gifts.”
Aiva couldn’t help but laugh with her. “Shit, I should send him a thank you gift if that’s the case.”
“Ooh, you should invite him on the cruise with us. You went on vacation with him and his daughter. Now, it’s his turn to meet the family.”
“I don’t mind inviting him, but I didn’t go on vacation with his entire family. Aside from mom and the little ones, all the siblings will be there,” Aiva reminded.
Meila shrugged. “So. I’m sure he won’t mind, and you can always give him the option of inviting some of his friends to come if he wants. I checked the other night, and several rooms were still left.”
Aiva thought about it. She wouldn’t mind him going with them, and she knew her siblings wouldn’t either. Her concern was that he would be away from Yasmine for a week. She would feel selfish pulling him away from her for that long since the cruise didn’t allow children. That was the only reason she hadn’t invited him already: the thought had come to mind while they were on vacation together.
“I’ll extend the invitation.”
“Aren’t you glad now that you booked a room for yourself?” Meila questioned teasingly.
Aiva rolled her eyes playfully at her sister as she drank her cocktail. Their brothers had decided to get a two-bedroom suite to share, and the younger three women had followed suit. She and Meila had briefly entertained getting a suite together but surmised that they didn’t need all that space and wouldn’t be in the room most of the time. So, they’d each booked their rooms next to one another.
They finished their dessert, and her sister paid the bill before they exited the restaurant. They said their goodbyes and went their separate ways.
When Aiva pulled up to her house, she went to her bathroom and started the shower. It was almost ten, and she knew that tomorrow would be hectic from start to finish. It was a day filled with court hearings, and those never failed to drain her. Mainly because she often had to try with everything she had to avoid rolling her eyes at what the opposing council and their client were asking for.
Once showered, she moisturized, put her hair in two strand twists, put on her bonnet, and slipped into bed, ensuring her alarm was set. She’d call Knox tomorrow and ask if he wanted to go with them next month.
“W hy are you walking around here like you had pussy for breakfast?” Wolfe asked as he threw the football to him. Knox raised a brow at the other man and glanced toward Yasmine.
“Do you think they sell filters online?” Ezra asked from beside him.
“Yes, but I think you have to get them custom-made because he’ll need an industrial strength one,” Coen answered as Knox tossed him the ball.
“Ha ha,” Wolfe responded dryly. “I’m stating the obvious. Don’t act like the two of you didn’t notice.”
“I didn’t say I hadn’t, but I wasn’t going to bring it up like you did,” Ezra countered.
“I assumed he got some.” Coen shrugged.
“Why are you worried about my sex life?” Knox asked.
“So, you did get some,” Wolfe stated. “I knew it. Well?”
Knox rolled his eyes. “I will not kiss and tell.”
He didn’t need them knowing that he’d attempted to live in Aiva’s pussy Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday morning. He was sure he lost himself in her a few times, desire taking over his consciousness as he tried to leave the imprint of his dick in her; leave the feel of his skin on hers so he’d be the only thing she thought about when he wasn’t around. How he’d tried to drown in her cum when she graced his tongue with it, and still, it wasn’t enough, and he wanted more. The sweet sounds she made for him and how she moaned his name when she came. Her responsiveness and inability to keep from voicing her pleasure as he was fucking her. The way she pulled him in and let him take every fucking thing he wanted. No, they didn’t need to know that.
“On another subject,” Coen started. “I’m volunteering at this event the boys and girls center is putting on. It’s called Just Play . It would be cool if you could stop by and hang out with the kids for a bit. Quite a few of the boys are fans.”
“When is it?” Knox asked.
“Not this coming Saturday, but the next. You can bring Yas and Aiva.”
Knox nodded. “Yeah, I’ll come and help. We can put together a flag football game or something.”
“Thanks. The kids will love that.”
He looked at where Yasmine was drawing on the sidewalk with some chalk. The five of them had lunch together, and then she insisted they go to the park. Knox was sure his friends all had work they should do but were blowing it off. She’d played on the see-saw with Coen, had Ezra spin her on the merry-go-round, had Wolfe push her on the swings, and they’d all played tag before she decided to draw.
Knox was now waiting for her to tire of the heat. By his estimate, they didn’t have long before she made it to that point, and he was proven correct ten minutes later.
“Daddy, can we go now?” Yasmine asked as she skipped over with her chalk bag in hand.
“Sure, sweetie,” he responded, throwing the ball to Coen.
“Uncle Wolfe, can you carry me to the car?”
“Do I look like a chauffeur to you, kiddo?” Wolfe asked.
Yasmine looked at Knox and raised a brow. “It’s someone who drives people around,” Knox explained.
“Or carry?” Yasmine asked thoughtfully.
“Sure, it could be,” he responded.
She turned her attention back to Wolfe. “Yes, you do,” she told him with all the innocence of a five-year-old, and all four men laughed.
“Touché, kid,” Wolfe said, as he picked her up and sat her on his shoulders.
K nox had just left Yasmine’s room from putting her to bed when his phone rang. He left her door cracked, pulling the phone from his pocket as he walked to his room.
“Hey, gorgeous,” he greeted. “How was your day?”
“Hey, babe. It was non-stop and draining, but fine otherwise. Did Yasmine enjoy lunch with you and her uncles?”
“She did. We went to the park after, and I’m positive they missed three hours of work.”
Aiva laughed. “It sounds like she has them wrapped around her little finger.”
“She definitely does.”
“I’m going to need her to teach me her tricks. I’m trying to have her dad that way.” Knox could hear the teasing in Aiva’s voice, and he chuckled as he sat at the end of his bed.
“I’m pretty sure you already have him that way.”
“Well, aren’t I lucky?”
“I think that’s me, but sure, baby.”
“I wanted to ask you something, and I don’t want you to feel obligated, so feel free to say no.”
“What is it?” he asked.
“I’m going on a cruise with my siblings, at least those of age, and I wanted to invite you to come with us. You can invite your friends too if you want.”
Knox shook his head at her. She thought he would say yes because he felt obligated to go since she went with them and not because he wanted to spend time with her.
“I’ll go with you. Just send me the details.”
“Are you sure?” she asked.
Knox paused. “Yes, unless you don’t actually want me to go.”
“No, it isn’t that. I promise. It’s just…we’ll be gone seven days, and I feel guilty for pulling you away from Yasmine for that long.”
He nodded to himself, understanding. If there was one thing he’d learned about Aiva even before they started dating was that when it came to him or them doing something, Yasmine was always a concern or a priority for her, and that fact constantly warmed his heart.
“I understand your concern, but you shouldn’t feel guilty. She can spend that week with my parents. They’ll all love it. Trust me.” She could even spend it with Mia if she wanted.
“Okay. I’ll send you the information and the itinerary. I’ve already booked our room, so you don’t need to worry about that,” she responded.
“Sounds good, baby.” He paused briefly. “Do you want to come over this weekend and make homemade ice cream with Yas and me?”
“That sounds like fun. I found this slime kit while doing some online shopping at work yesterday, and I ordered some. They should be here on Thursday. I can bring one over.”
“Yas is going to have a field day with that.”
“Then it’s a date.”
“It is,” he responded.
“I’m going to let you go. I’m exhausted, but I’ll talk to you later.”
“Get some rest, baby.”
They disconnected the call, and Knox tossed his phone on the bed before pulling his shirt off and tossing it into his hamper. He’d shower, then watch a horror movie that had looked good on Netflix since Yasmine was asleep.
