40. Nicole #2

“You do. You two have the same eyes and mouth,” Angie blurts out and then shifts awkwardly as three sets of eyes focus on her. “What? It’s a normal observation.”

“Hmmmm, interesting, Angelina. Seems like you’ve paid close attention to how my brother looks.” Jaxson’s grin is wider than ever and I think Angie may actually kill him.

“Call me that again and see if I don’t rip every hair out of your body one by one.

” She retorts, her mouth twisted in a grimace.

“You and your brother are both dicks. But I reckon he has a weird chin under that beard so you’re definitely the more handsome of the two.

Don’t grow a beard though. Beards are gross. ”

“You used to like them, what happened?” Edie gets Angie’s attention, and as I snap my gaze between the two of them, I feel like I’m at Wimbledon with the conversation being batted around the way it is.

“The bearded bastard, it seems.”

I instantly regret saying anything when Angie shoots me daggers and Edie frowns her concern at her best friend.

Instead of shouting or getting mad at me, Angie just smiles sweetly. “What’s that you’ve got there, Nicole?”

Knowing full well what’s inside, and that I don’t want Jaxson seeing it, Angie manages to completely divert the attention away from herself. Just like she wanted, he reaches over to grab the box.

I slap his hand away and screech, “Nothing, nothing. It’s nothing, Jaxson. I’m going to my room.”

“Yeah, you are. It may not be as good as Jacob, but you’ll have to make do I’m afraid,” Angie shouts from behind me as I walk out of the kitchen.

I look over my shoulder and glare at her, but my attention flips to Edie when she giggles. “Remember, we’re taking Lucky out to lunch with us. Go nuts, babe.”

Their cackles follow me up the staircase, and I clutch at the box and smile to myself as Jaxson asks, “What did I miss?”

“This is not an appropriate gift to open in front of Angie and Edie, Owen.” I laugh down the phone to him and relish in his deep chuckle.

“They helped me find it. I typed it into my search engine and went down a rabbit hole of all these different toys. Did you know you can get a flower that licks your pussy? I mean what’s that about?

” His shock and confusion makes me giggle, which makes him chuckle again, and my arousal ruins my panties.

“It’s good to hear you laugh, Nico. I’ve missed it. ”

“Me too. I’m s…” I catch myself before I apologise.

“Good girl.”

My core throbs with need at hearing his praise when I stop the apology from leaving my lips.

A shiver rushes over my body, goosebumps chase the shiver and, as I check my reflection in the mirror opposite me, I notice my cheeks are tinged with pink, my pupils dilated and I’m panting like a bitch in heat. All because of two words. Damn him.

“Owen…” I warn him.

“I’m not doing anything, baby. I’m just letting you know that I’m proud of you for not apologising. You did good.” I can hear the smirk in his voice telling me he knows exactly what he’s doing.

“Maybe I should test out J Double G 2.0 then… seeing as you’re not doing anything,” I tease back, and claim victory when I hear the sharp intake of breath down the line.

“Wait until I’m home. I won’t be long. Then we can play together.” His voice is gravelly and husky as he quickly spits his words out.

“Nu-uh you have to go see Emilia, remember? She has something lined up because of the articles. So maybe I’ll just slip out of these binding clothes and into the nice soft bed sheets…”

“Nico, don’t you fucking dare start without me. It’s bad enough I have to be away from you in a couple of days for our next game, let alone miss out now,” he bites out, his tone somewhere between desperation and despair.

“Okay, I’ll wait. But you know the beauty of being a woman means I can go again and again and again, right?”

“Nico, I swear to god, I’m driving with a raging hard-on just thinking about you going again and again. I need to concentrate on the road, so change the subject. When I get home, I’ll make sure the wait was worth your while.”

Tingles shoot up and down my body in anticipation. “I’ll be good.”

“Okay. Let’s change the subject shall we?” His voice sounds as needy as I feel.

“Homeschool. Dammit.” He chuckles at me and even though he can’t see me, I raise an eyebrow and pout. “When you’ve finished laughing at me, I have some serious things to discuss with you about our son.”

His laughter dies down and he clears his throat. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t laughing at you, baby, more like with you. I like knowing I got you all flustered and hot and bothered. The feeling is mutual by the way.”

“Good to know. Now, serious questions, what are we doing about his education? He needs to be in school or home schooled or something. He can’t just lounge around all day playing computer games and football.

He needs a proper education. I just don’t know what the best route is yet.

” I wait for a response but all I get is dead silence. “Hello, Owen? Are you still there?”

“Shit, yeah, I’m here. I’m sorry. You threw me a little bit then.” The way he rushes his words out makes me smile this time. I like catching him unprepared. He does it to me enough times.
