69. Zayne
CHAPTER 69
Zayne
J axson and I need to leave tomorrow to head for Devil’s Den, and I’m worried as hell about leaving Delaney. While I have Tim and Aidan chained in my dungeon and Ryker watching over them, Daniel and Richard are still out there.
I’ve given Stryker a long list of instructions, threatening him like a feral, protective mother bear if he allows anything to happen to her. He swears on his life he’ll sacrifice his to save hers.
I ordered Stryker to go to the hotel and rest up while I spent a few hours with Delaney.
Delaney is sprawled on the bed, her wrists bound overhead and ankles secured to the bedpost. She’s blindfolded, and I have the mask sitting on the top of my head as I fuck her, alternating between slow and deep and hard and fast.
When she comes again, I finally let go, pounding deep into her before I still, filling her with my cum.
I slide the mask back over my head before removing the blindfold. She blinks up at me, a smile curling her lips. “I’ve never been woken up by a masked man touching me before. I liked it.”
I chuckle, stroking her face before I grow serious. “I’ll be gone for a few days. My associate will be watching over you. I’ll watch you and check in every moment I can.”
Her lip quivers, tugging at my heartstrings. I untie her wrists and ankles. As soon as she’s free, she wraps herself around me.
I hold her, stroking her hair and back, as her tears fall onto my chest. “It’s silly, but I’ll miss you. I won’t feel as safe.”
“I know, baby.” I press the mouth of the mask against the top of her head. “I promise I’ll stay in touch, though.”
She nods and releases a sigh. “It’s probably for the best. Callie is visiting me on October 29. She has to leave on October 30. Her parents are throwing a Halloween party and need her to help with the party preparations.” Shame colors her cheeks as she looks at me, her fingers absently stroking my chest. “I haven’t told her about you.”
I nod, hurt filling me. It reminds me of when I was her dirty little secret in high school.
She rushes the words out. “I’m not trying to keep you a secret. I’m being selfish, keeping you all to myself.”
It still leaves a sour taste, but I don’t say anything. I’m keeping my identity a secret for various reasons.
“Be careful while I’m gone.”
“I will.” She sighs, her warm breath fanning my chest before she kisses right above my heart.
Rolling onto my side, I hold her in my arms, staring at her face. Her eyes are heavy, as though she’s fighting exhaustion.
“Go to sleep,” I whisper.
She sighs, her eyes closing. A few seconds pass, and she murmurs, “I love you.”
My heart seizes inside my chest as I stare at her. I run my fingers through her long locks, watching her. Her breathing is steady and regular, her eyes closed.
Slowly untangling myself, I wrap her arms around the pillow my head was lying on. I pick up my sweatshirt, fold and set it on top of her dresser for her to wear. She had one of mine in high school that she wore to bed. She used to tell me it made her feel safe because it kept the nightmares away.
I wish she would’ve told me what those nightmares were about.
Lifting the mask, I place a gentle kiss on her lips. “I love you so fucking much, my lil minx,” I whisper.
With one lingering look, I turn around and walk out the door.
Time to put your game face on. You’ve been keeping a lot of secrets from Jaxson and Luca. Things they don’t need to know right now.
Sliding my hands in my pockets, I nod at Stryker as I pass him.
As I head toward my truck, Delaney’s words echo inside my head. “I’m not trying to keep you a secret. I’m being selfish, keeping you all to myself.”
I sure as fuck hope this isn’t a repeat of high school all over again.
