FIFTEEN
I shouldn't have done it. I shouldn't have asked her on a date. I shouldn't even have fucked her. I sat outside Gabriella's office building like a damn creep, watching the entrance with hawk-like vision.
If this was the effect the woman had on me after one night of fucking, then I definitely didn't want to know what would happen when I finally sank my dick inside of her again.
Then again, I didn't need any sexual encounters. Just looking at her enhanced this foreign feeling that flowed through my veins. Blood rushed to my brain and I suddenly felt light headed. I tossed my head back, sighing softly.
I could sense the impending headache. The rush of emotions and thoughts were enough to send me spiralling downward into a never ending hole.
I've never felt this way before, never felt the need to claim a woman so badly. To make it known that she belonged to me and only me. It’s as if a strong force possessed me and I opened my eyes, peering at the entrance once more.
That's when I saw her exiting. Clad in a burgundy body con dress that hugged every inch of her skin, displaying each dip and curve. I balled my hands into fists, narrowing my eyes at the outfit of choice.
The beige stilettos she wore elongated her legs as I watched her walk with confidence. As much as I loved and admired her style, I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger when I thought of other men gawking at her.
Their sick heads probably filled with illicit thoughts of my little butterfly. Only I could look at her in that manner. Only I could kiss her, touch her, taste her. I didn't even want any of those fucks breathing in her direction.
With a deep inhale, I closed my eyes to reroute my train of thoughts and then slowly exhaled. When I looked in her direction again, there was a man standing extremely close to her.
She looked at him and laughed at something he said. His back faced me so I couldn't get a clear view of his face, but I took it upon myself to ensure I ingrained his face into my memory and to make it known that Gabriella was mine.
I exited my vehicle and slammed my door shut, feeling the tension in my shoulders. I rolled them backward and moved my head from side to side before slowly walking in Gabriella's direction.
"You should join us for dinner tonight," is what the unknown man said. I'd give him credit for having the shear audacity and the balls to even mention dinner in the first place, but he should've known better.
Gabriella was in the midst of responding when she saw me approaching and quickly averted her gaze back to him. "I would love to, but unfortunately I've got other plans."
That sweet tone of voice always sent shivers down my spine, but the moment was short lived when I heard him talking again. "It's only for an hour." The look on her face was one that made my heart clench.
It's like she pleaded with me not to insert myself into the conversation, and I wouldn't have, but the little fuck that stood in front of her, wearing a suit that was clearly ill tailored to his body type, just had to be a persistent bastard.
"I'm almost certain she said that she's already got plans." I came to a stop next to her and placed both hands in my pockets, glaring at him. The man was taken aback by my sudden appearance and cleared his throat.
"Right…apologies," he said arrogantly, maintaining eye contact with me before looking at Gabriella again. "I'll see you later," he said before turning around and walking in the opposite direction.
"Like fuck you will," I muttered and looked down at Gabriella, but she was already glaring at me. "Don't give me that look," I said sternly.
"Don't give you what look?" She crossed her arms, folding it over her chest which pushed her tits up. Now wasn't the time to become distracted by the goddess. "Am I looking at you like you're insane? Because that's what you are." She furrowed her eyebrows. "What are you doing here? How did you even find—"
She paused, not giving me the opportunity to answer before speaking again. "You know what, don't answer that. But you're going to tell me what you're doing at my damn workplace, Nicolas."
"I missed you." It was partially true, I did miss her, but my main purpose was to keep an eye on her.
"You missed me?" I nodded. "You couldn't, I don't know, perhaps call me and express those feelings like a normal human being?" She was pissed and rightfully so, but I needed her to understand that the second she agreed to our night together, she agreed to being mine.
Even if that information was unbeknownst to her.
"No. I'm a man of few words. My actions tend to speak for itself."
She released a soft breath, shaking her head from side to side. "You didn't have to speak to him like that, you know."
"Oh," I said lowly, stepping closer to her. "Maybe you need a reminder of what I said to you when I took you out on our date."
She tried stepping back, but I grabbed her wrist gently and pulled her toward me. "Can we please not do this here?" she asked with a shaken tone.
"What is this ?" I prodded.
"You know what." She looked away from me, but I placed my thumb and index finger on her chin, forcing her to look at me. "I don't need a reminder, I remember it clear as day."
"Then repeat it," I urged.
She looked at me with those siren like eyes and I could feel my resolve crumbling. "I'm yours," she said softly, licking her lower lip and in turn showcased her dimples. "You told me I'm yours."
"Ah, you so you actually do remember." The response was sarcastic. I bent down, my lips hovering over hers.
"We're in public," she warned.
"I'm well aware." I caressed the inside of her wrist with my thumb, inhaling her addictive perfume. "Now, I'll say this to you one more time. You are mine, Gabriella. All mine. And just because I haven't fucked you again, doesn't mean that I'll take it lightly if other men try to take what's mine."
"Nobody's trying to take me from you."
"Yeah?" I cocked my head sideways, leaning in so I could whisper in her ear. "They better not, because I'll fucking kill them." She gulped softly, trying to move backward, but I held her tightly.
"You're an agent, that doesn't sound ethical to me."
"Allow me to make something clear to you, Gabriella." I gripped her chin tighter, making her hiss. "I don't give a fuck about what's ethical. I never say anything I don't mean, and I will always follow through with it."
"You truly are unhinged." I bit down on her earlobe and I could feel her breath in my neck when she exhaled.
"Yes," I agreed. "Think about that the next time a man so much as breathes in your direction."
"Even though you haven't officially made me yours yet?"
I raised an eyebrow and I could tell by the look in her eyes that she was taunting me. "No?"
"No, you haven't."
"How do you propose I do that then?" The question was rhetorical, but I was curious to hear her answer. She stared at me, blinking slowly, but remained silent. So I tightened my hold on her chin. "Go on, open that smart little mouth of yours and tell me."
"You'll think of something, but you're going to work for it. I want to see you work for it, Nicolas."
I chuckled darkly, releasing her chin from my grip and moved it to the back of her neck to pull her closer. "You're a feisty little thing, but I plan to break you until you submit to me completely." She gasped and the sound had blood rushing to my groin. "Besides, I have no problem with working for the things I want in life, but just know that while I am working for it, you're still mine and I'd be damned if you thought otherwise."
"Now would probably be the appropriate time to tell you that you're mine, too, then. You're definitely a ladies’ man and the thought irks me," she said with a frown .
"Do you really think I'm interested in anyone else?"
"I know you're not—"
"Yes or no," I pressed, annoyed that she'd even think I wanted anybody other than her.
"No."
"Exactly, but if you need reassurance, I'd be more than willing to give that to you." She knitted her eyebrows and pressed her lips into a thin line. "The only woman I want is you ."
