{Third person's pov}
Kiara woke up and found herself in the bed, she frowned, she remembered herself in the lawn last night.
She sat up and looked at the windows which indicated it was morning already.
She sighed and got ready, after getting ready she walked in the living room where everyone was present. "Good morning beta," Ekansh's father said and Kiara smiled.
"Good morning uncle," She replied, "Come join us for breakfast and then Ekansh will drop you home."
Ekansh was casually eating when his father's words caught him off guard, "Right Ekansh?" His father asked.
He looked at Kiara who was sitting in front of her and nodded, "driver it is," he whispered to himself and focused on his food.
..........
They were in his car, Kiara was talking to the puppy in her hands once again, Ekansh was casually driving and looking at Kiara.
"Focus on the road Mr. Shekhwat," Kiara chuckled and stared at the puppy who was now sleeping in her lap.
"I am focusing." He replied looking back towards the road making her chuckle, She turned her face towards him and asked, "What should I name him?"
Ekansh mind ran for a suitable name for the little bundle which was sleeping peacefully on her lap, "Doodle or Rookie?"
"I like Rookie more, we will call him Rookie." She smiled and Caressed the Rookie.
"You love animals, don't you?" He asked, "Yeah... Especially Dogs."
"I will bring him with me after marriage." She said and he looked at her, "That's completely your wish."
Kiara smiled and nodded, "Yes I will."
...........
It's been a month since their engagement and today was the Mehendi Ceremony, Kiara was dressed in a olive green kurti and plazo. Which Ekansh was wearing a simple white kurta, he loved those white simple kurtas, he found them comfortable and elegant at the same time.
She was getting her henna done, which people were enjoying, meanwhile Ekansh was sitting at a chair, his whole focus was on his phone.
When he heard the sound of bark, his gaze automatically shifted towards Rookie, who was standing infront of Kiara and barking at her, because she wasn't patting him.
"Aw my baby, I am sorry but I can't pat you right now.
" She talked to that puppy, like it would reply her and that made Ekansh chuckle, and surprisingly the puppy understood her and walked away from her, with his little legs he walked towards Ekansh and stood infront of him, his tail was wagging.
Ekansh raised an eyebrow and Rookie sat next to his leg, he looked at Kiara who was already looking at him and Rookie, she was smiling.
He looked at Rookie and patted his head, as he sat calmly there.
...........
It was the Sangeet, Kiara and Garv sat on a couch next to each other, and watched all the performances that were done by their family members to make their function memorable.
Kiara had tears in her eyes as she watched her parents perform, Ekansh stared at her. He didn't know how to comfort anyone but he definitely felt bad for her, he took out his handkerchief and forwarded it towards her.
Kiara looked at his hand and then his face, and she took the handkerchief from his hand, and wiped her tears.
Rookie was still sitting next to them, he was near Ekansh's foot, Kiara looked at Rookie and smiled, "He likes you more."
She whispered and Ekansh looked at the puppy and then her, "I guess so."
He watched as she dabbed at her tears with his handkerchief, his fingers twitching slightly. He wanted to reach out, to brush away the tears himself, but he held back.
His gaze flicked to the puppy, Rookie, who was sitting at his feet. He couldn't deny that he had grown fond of the creature, and he could understand why Kiara liked him.
He tried to keep his expression neutral, but a hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
Kiara smiled and looked at the stage where everyone was performing.
He watched her profile as she turned her attention back to the stage. The lights from the performance gave her face a warm glow, making her look even more beautiful than usual.
As the performances went on, he found himself stealing glances at her, unable to take his eyes off her for long. He told himself he was just being observant, making sure she was okay. But the truth was, he just liked watching her.
Kiara looked at him and their eyes met, she felt her heart skipping a beat and she looked back at the stage immediately.
He felt his heart give a strange lurch when their eyes met, his breath catching in his throat. He hadn't expected her to notice him looking at her, and he quickly looked away, pretending to be interested in the performance.
But his mind was racing, his heart pounding faster than normal. Why was he reacting like this? It was just a simple glance, nothing more.
He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down, but he couldn't help stealing another glance at her.
The performance went by and soon Richa, her sister approached them, "Why aren't the groom and bride not dancing?"
She held their hands and pulled them with her, they were dragged in the centre, the lights dimmed and the spot light was pointed at them.
Kiara looked at him and he was already staring at her, she felt her cheeks heating up already.
He let himself be pulled along by Richa, his mind spinning as he realized what was happening. They were in the center of attention now, the spotlight shining down on them, making it impossible for him to look away from Kiara.
His heart rate increased again, his palms growing sweaty as he prepared for what was about to happen. He could see the blush creeping up on her cheeks, and it only added to the fluttering sensations in his stomach.
She looked at him and he stared back at her, "may I?" He asked and Kiara nodded. Her slowly slid her hands around her waist pulling her closer.
Her breath skipped and she placed her hands on his chest. As he drew her closer, his arms encircling her waist, he could feel the rapid beat of her heart under his fingers. His own heart was racing just as fast, but he tried to maintain his composure, his expression betraying nothing.
The music began to play, slow and soft, and he started to move them slowly to the rhythm, their bodies swaying together. They were so close he could see the flecks of gold in her eyes, and could feel the warmth of her breath fanning across his face.
Her eyes were cascaded down, she was breathing heavily and biting her lips.
He swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. Her proximity was intoxicating, making it hard for him to think straight.
The way her body moved with his, the way she bit her lip - he had to force himself to concentrate on the steps of the dance.
He kept his hands on her waist, feeling the firmness of her body, the slow rise and fall of her chest as she breathed. Every movement brought them closer together, the heat between them almost unbearable.
She looked at him, as he removed his hands from her waist and He spun her around, trying to keep his expression schooled into a neutral mask. But as she twirled back towards him, her hair fanning out around her face, he couldn't help the flash of emotion that crossed his eyes.
As they came together again, he pulled her closer than before, her back pressing against his chest. He could smell the scent of her hair, a sweet, floral fragrance that made him want to bury his face in it.
The music stopped and Kiara immediately stepped away, her cheeks totally red. She looked at him and then Walked back towards the couch they were earlier sitting at.
He watched her walk away, feeling an odd sense of loss as she put distance between them. The adrenaline from the dance was still coursing through his veins, making him feel restless and twitchy.
He forced himself to take a deep breath, to calm his racing heart. What was happening to him? Why was he reacting this way?
He cast a glance towards Kiara, seeing her sitting on the couch, trying to compose herself. He had to get a grip on his emotions before he did something he regretted.
