Kiara sat in the living room as the workers were dusting and cleaning, Ekansh left for his office.

"You know beta, Your mother in law was such a great lady. She was Betrayed by her own husband." The head worker said Kiara and Kiara nodded.

"Bhabhi, the food from last night is still untouched." Another girl who was cooking in the kitchen came with the pot the food was kept in.

"Uh yeah, we didn't eat last night." She replied, the girl nodded and turned to leave but stopped.

"The kitchen looks messy, we cleaned it yesterday." She said and Kiara coughed. "Rookie did it."

"Rookie climbed on the slab?" The girl asked and Kiara was red by now. "Stop questioning her and go work." The elderly woman said with a knowing smile.

..........

It was evening when Ekansh came home, he looked exhausted. Kiara was sitting in the living room. She walked towards him and took his blazer. "You look tired."

Ekansh nodded, rubbing his forehead. "Yeah, it was a long day." He sat down on a couch, taking off his shoes. "Paperwork, meetings, and meetings. And more meetings."

He let out a tired sigh, slumping back on the couch. "I swear, some days I feel like banging my head against a wall."

She chuckled and kept the blazer on the couch, "I will bring water."

Kiara came back with a glass of water and forwarded it towards him, He took the glass from her hands, taking slow sips. The cold water was refreshing, and he felt some of his exhaustion beginning to fade. "Thanks," he said, setting the glass down on the side table.

He looked up at his wife, taking in her tired but beautiful appearance. "You look tired too," he noted. "Did you even take a break today?"

"I did nothing that tiring, I just cooked dinner. The breakfast and lunch was cooked by the maids." Kiara sat next to him on the couch.

"Still," Ekansh countered, reaching out to take her hand in his. "It's important to take breaks and not overwork yourself, even if you're not doing anything physically demanding."

He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, his expression softening. "You have to take care of your health too, you know."

She shook her head and smiled, "Shouldn't you implement that on you?"

Ekansh rolled his eyes playfully, amused by her retort. He pretended to be annoyed, but the teasing glint in his eyes betrayed his true emotions. "I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself, thank you very much."

"Oh really?" She asked sarcastically. "Absolutely," he quipped back, a smirk playing on his lips. "I'm capable of handling myself. Why don't you focus on taking care of yourself and leave the worrying to me?"

"Alright then I will pay a visit to my parents for a week, you can take care of yourself right?" She teased him.

Ekansh swiftly pulled her onto his lap, his hands settling on her hips. He looked up at her, a playful glint in his eyes. "Oh no you don't," he chided, feigning disapproval. "You're not going anywhere."

"Why?" She raised an eyebrow, He tightened his grip on her hips, keeping her firmly on his lap. "Because I said so," he retorted, his tone jokingly commanding. "You belong here, with me."

"So you are saying you can't take care of yourself?" She raised an eyebrow, He pretended to be offended, playfully rolling his eyes. "Hey, I can take care of myself just fine, thank you very much."

He leaned back on the couch, pulling her closer to him. "I just prefer having you around, that's all. Plus, this is a lot more comfortable than being alone, don't you think?"

"whatever," She rolled her eyes, and tried to get up From his lap. He shook his head, refusing to let her go. "Nope, you're not going anywhere." He wrapped one arm around her waist, locking her in place. He leaned in, bringing his face close to hers.

"You're staying right here, on my lap." His voice was low and tinged with a hint of playfulness. "You know you love it anyway."

"I never knew you could be clingy." She whispered, "Only with you," he replied softly, his eyes locking with hers. "I'm not clingy with anyone else."

He ran his hand up and down her back, his touch gentle yet possessive. "You have this effect on me, you know. You make me want to hold onto you, to keep you close. I can't help it."

...........

It was Sunday, which meant he had no office, Kiara walked inside the room just to witness him sitting near the window and doing something on his Laptop.

"Ekansh!" She called out, Ekansh looked up from his laptop and nodded. "It's Sunday, stop working." She complaint.

Ekansh sighed, a hint of guilt crossing his features. "I know, I know," he replied, rubbing his temples. "It's just that I have a lot of work... and if I don't finish it now, I'll just have more piling up on Monday."

She walked towards him and snatched his laptop, She held his wrist and tried pulling him, "Get up."

Ekansh resisted her tugging for a moment, a playful glint in his eyes. "Hey, hey, careful with my laptop!" he protested, trying to maintain a serious expression.

But seeing the determined look on her face, he couldn't help but smile and relent. He stood up, following her lead. "All right, bossy, where are we going?"

"Shopping," she grabbed his key and forwarded it towards him. "No excuses!"

Ekansh caught the keys she tossed him, a mix of amusement and resignation on his face. "Of course it had to be shopping," he quipped, a hint of playful sarcasm in his tone.

He knew better than to argue with her, especially when she was in this determined mood. "Alright, alright. Let's go shopping."

............

They were looking at different sections, buying things for the house when Kiara's eyes fell on a pair of baby's shoes. She smiled looking at the shoes.

Ekansh, who was trailing behind her, noticed where her gaze was fixed. He raised an eyebrow and approached her, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Those caught your eye, huh?" he teased, eyeing the baby shoes she was admiring.

"They are cute," she smiled and walked ahead, Ekansh chuckled, following her as they continued their shopping, pushing the trolley while she shopped. As they moved down the aisle, Ekansh noticed that she was still occasionally glancing at the baby section.

He couldn't help but tease her again. "You seem quite drawn to all the baby stuff," he remarked, casually leaning against the trolley.

"Yeah because I find them adorable," Kiara smiled and picked a beautiful vase, "we can keep this on the side table near our couch."

Ekansh nodded, admiring the vase she had picked out. "It looks nice," he agreed.

He glanced back at the baby section, then turned to her with a playful smile. "You know, if you like babies so much, we could always try making one ourselves."

"Shut up," she slapped his arms and looked here and there making sure no one listened to him.

Ekansh chuckled, feigning innocence. "What? I'm just saying, we'd make cute babies, don't you think?"

He couldn't resist teasing her, especially since her reaction was so adorable. He reached out and playfully pinched her cheek.

She placed her palm on his mouth, "Shut up, will you?"

Ekansh chuckled against her palm, his breath tickling her skin. "But why? I'm just expressing my thoughts," he replied, his eyes gleaming with amusement.

He gently grabbed her hand, lowering it from his mouth, and intertwined their fingers together. "Plus, I like seeing you all flustered like this."

She rolled her eyes at his change in behaviour, she couldn't believe he was the same reserved Ekansh.
