{Third person's pov}
It's been a week since that incident, Kiara was sitting on the bed and staring at the wall, lost in a different world.
Ekansh stood in the doorway, watching her with a heavy heart. He hadn't seen her smile or heard her laugh in days, and it tore him apart.
He slowly approached her, taking a seat next to her on the bed. "Hey," he said softly, placing a hand on her shoulder.
She looked at him blankly and then closed her eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks.
He gently pulled her into his arms, letting her head rest on his chest. "It's going to be okay," he whispered, his hand rubbing soothing circles on her back.
His heart ached to see her in so much pain, but he didn't know how to make her feel better.
"I want my baby back." She whispered and clutched his arms. He held her tighter, his heart breaking at her words. "I know, love. I know," he murmured, his voice filled with pain and helplessness. "But we have to find a way to accept it."
He took a deep breath, trying to keep his voice steady. "We can try again, love. We can try to have another baby."
She shook her head, "but we planned so much for this baby." She got up from the bed and walked towards the room they got decorated for their baby. It has baby clothes and lots of toys.
He followed her, his heart heavy with each step. He watched her run her fingertips over the baby clothes and the toys, a mixture of nostalgia and sadness washing over him.
"I know, we did," he said softly, his voice cracking with emotion. "But life doesn't always go according to plan. We have to find a way to move forward, love."
She looked at him with pain, "if you can't bring my baby back, then please don't give me opinions."
He could see the agony in her eyes, and he wanted nothing more than to take her pain away. But he knew he couldn't. He couldn't bring their child back. No matter how much he wanted to.
He took a step closer, his expression sympathetic. "I'm trying to help you, love. I'm trying to make you see that we can't change what happened, but we can choose how to move forward."
She was weak because of continuous crying from a week and she was barely eating, she broke into tears again and became unconscious.
He panicked when he saw her fall, not expecting her to collapse. He caught her, holding her close to his chest.
His heart raced, his mind flooded with worry as he gently lowered her onto the bed. He quickly checked her pulse, relieved to see that she was still breathing, but the colour in her cheeks had drained, and she was deathly pale.
He cursed under his breath, realizing how exhausted and malnourished she had become due to her constant crying.
He immediately called the doctor, once the doctor came he checked on her, "Mr. Shekhawat, she is weak and needs special care. Take her somewhere she feels different, somewhere she can forget her sorrows, do things that can keep her away from thinking."
He nodded, understanding the doctor's advice. He knew that she needed to be in a different environment, to be surrounded by distractions, anything to keep her mind off the sorrows eating her from within.
He picked her up gently, cradling her fragile form against his chest, and carried her out of their home to the car. He placed her in the passenger seat and buckled her seatbelt before getting in the driver's seat and starting the car.
Kiara gained her consciousness and looked at him, "Where are we going?"
He looked at her and smiled, his gaze filled with reassurance. "Somewhere special. Someplace where you can find comfort and peace."
He gently held her hand, lacing their fingers together. "Trust me, okay?"
She looked out of the window, her eyes still had tears. He gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, his fingers tracing small circles on her palm. "Just take deep breaths, love. We're almost there."
The car finally stopped, it was a beautiful house. Not a mansion but a house, and it was next to a beautiful lake between a forest.
She stared at him, "Is it yours?" Kiara asked and he shook his head, "my maternal grandfather's favourite place. He brought it for a vacation, and then he passed it to my mother who passed it to me."
He explained and helped her out of the car, he didn't let her walk and cradled her in his arms, walking towards the entrance.
He carried her inside the house, his touch gentle and protective. He settled her down on the sofa and wrapped a soft blanket around her, ensuring she was comfortable.
He sat next to her, his hand resting on her back, rubbing slow circles. "Rest here for a bit," he said. "I'll get a few things unpacked and prepare some food. You haven't been eating well. Your body needs the energy."
She nodded and sat there, soon he eyes drifted to a book shelf, it had many old books. She walked towards the book shelf and checked a few books out, until she found a romantic book.
She pulled it out and walked towards the garden of the house, she sat on the chair, which was covered in dust. But she didn't care, she sat there and opened the book. Reading it.
Ekansh was in the kitchen, once the food was done he came in the living room just to find it empty, he panicked and walked outside. He sighed in relief when he saw Kiara peacefully sitting and reading the book.
That's when he realised, Reading can keep her mind diverted. He immediately pulled his phone out and ordered as many books as he could.
He quietly walked outside and sat next to her, not wanting to disturb her tranquility. He stole glances at her, watching her engrossed in the book, a small smile on her face.
He couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope, a spark of happiness at seeing her so engaged in something other than her sadness.
.........
Over the next few days, Kiara immersed herself in reading. Ekansh made sure to keep her well-stocked with books and provided anything she wanted, even setting up a small makeshift library in their room so she wouldn't have to leave the comfort of the bed.
As the days passed, Ekansh noticed a gradual change in Kiara. She was talking more, eating more, and laughing again. It was a small victory, but to him, it was everything.
They were still at the house his grandfather brought, it has a different environment which was helping her health faster, "Ekansh." Kiara whispered, looking at him as he was cooking in kitchen.
He looked up from the stove, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Yes, love?" he replied, his tone tender.
She walked towards him and hugged him from behind, "I was behaving too hard from a few days right?"
He turned off the stove and placed the spatula down, turning around in her arms to face her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him, their bodies pressed together.
"You’ve been through a lot, love," he murmured, his hands gently rubbing her back. "I understand."
She placed her head on his chest, listening to his heart beat. He held her close, his chin resting gently on her head, his thumb tracing soothing circles on her lower back. They stood there in silence, the sound of their heartbeats syncing together in a comforting rhythm.
