Chapter 20 Theo
THEO
She screamed my name. The cry made me want to beat my chest. The way her pussy squeezed my fingers and the mess she made of my face told me she was mine. There was no need to claim her, she was giving herself to me.
I wiped my mouth on her thigh and crawled up her body, leaving a wet trail of kisses in my wake. I sounded as if I was the one screaming. “That was beautiful.”
“You took me places.” Her voice was barely a whisper, soft and rough.
By the time we were face-to-face, her eyes were more focused but her breathing was still heavy as it fanned over my face and neck.
“I’m not done taking you.” The primal urge to bury myself inside her was all consuming.
I struggled to remind myself to go slow.
The adrenaline from earlier in the evening had been replaced.
There was no need for the obvious warrior and protector.
The thug in a suit, as Fred had called me. That didn’t mean I was any less feral.
I tore away from her, my hands reaching for the night stand. Maggie gripped my forearm. “We had this conversation earlier this evening. Theo, I’m safe and I trust you. But it is your call.”
Earlier in the evening we’d been in a hurry. We made a decision based on lust. But this. This was different. She was giving all of herself to me. “Maggie, I’ve never been without protection.” I lifted a brow at her. “Earlier not included.”
“It’s your call.” She nodded and removed her hand from my arm.
I closed the drawer but I needed one more reassurance. “Are you sure? It's not like I’ve been—”
“Finish that sentence and you can finish with your hand.” Her pout was adorable, making me want to bite that bottom lip. So, I did.
I settled myself between the cradle of her thighs once more and she wrapped her legs around my waist. Forcing a hand between us, I gripped my cock, moving the head around her entrance. She moaned as my piercing moved over her clit. Only once I was coated in her wetness did I slowly push in.
“Fuck, love.” Feeling her against me had me thinking about spreadsheets just to control myself. “You feel incredible.”
The little minx did not go easy on me. The more of me she took, the more she pulsed her walls around me. “You’re playing dirty, my love.”
“You just feel so good, I need to do something.” She may have been telling the truth, but the look in her eyes said she knew exactly what she was doing to me.
Once I was fully seated inside her, we both let out a groan and I needed to take a moment before everything ended far too soon.
As slowly as I had pushed in, I pulled back out, enjoying every ripple and clench of her around me. Over and over I moved inside her, taking everything she was offering and giving her everything I had.
I knew there was nothing I could do to be worthy of her. She was everything I wanted, but I could never earn her. But I could be everything she needed. In fact, it would be my honor.
True, she would never want for anything. But Margaret Bauman had not suffered a day in her life. She’d struggled, yes, and fought for what she wanted. And I was happy to fight with her.
Her hands travelled around my neck and into my scalp. She’d already marked my back, I was sure of it. I wanted her marks on me. I wanted my mark on her.
Maybe I’d do that with our next round. Leave a trail of hickeys on her body. The thought sent a jolt of lust through me and my pace increased.
Faster and faster I moved inside of her. “Fuck, baby. You’re so tight. It's like you never want to let me go.”
“I don’t.” Her words fuelled my movements.
There was no rhythm, just two people finding solace in one another. I moved my thumb to her clit and pressed down. “Come Maggie. I need one from you. Do it. Now.”
Even though my words were choppy she still did as I asked. She chanted my name before squeezing me, causing me to follow over the edge with her.
I collapsed to the side of her. Our heavy breathing was the only sound in the room, the sheen of sweat a clear indication of how much we gave one another. I rolled to my back and pulled her to my side. She rested her head on my chest and all was right with the world. No one could get to us.
The buzzing from the floor quickly removed that notion from my mind. “I need to get that, love.”
I extricated myself from beneath her and moved to retrieve my phone from my pants pocket.
The message on the phone was like being doused with cold water.
Nick: Both brothers booked, awaiting arraignment. Fred still at large. Considered a fugitive.
I showed Maggie the message as I climbed back into bed. For the first time since Fred’s release I saw fear etched into her features.
“The kids.” She looked up at me, not afraid to show how scared she was. “I want them under this roof. You said this place is a fortress. Then we need to treat it like that.”
I nodded at her. “I know and I agree. But Nick has a guard outside your parents’ house and your dad is no slouch. Let’s wait until morning. It will be less disruptive for them. And we can get a few hours of sleep before we get them.”
“Fine.” As she let out that deep sigh, I knew the only reason she’d agreed with me was because I brought up disrupting the kids. She would have us driving at this minute if she had her way. “But then you sleep, too.”
With a smile, I readily agreed. “Of course. You wore me out woman.”
For the first time in quite a while my alarm woke me. Maggie’s back was snuggled against my chest, my cock nestled between her ass cheeks. As hard as I was, there was nothing I could do about it. We needed to get the kids. And the earlier we did it, the better.
If Fred had intentions of watching the house, there was nothing we could do. But I wanted everyone back before the man had time to make a move.
“Maggie.” I gently shook her shoulder. “We need to get up, love.” Of course, the first thing she did was move that ass. I let out a groan. “And for the love of all things horny, do not move your ass like that.”
She wiggled ass once more and let out a giggle. “Can you actually move with that thing?”
“With sufficient willpower, yes. But if you try that again, we won’t have time for coffee before getting the kids.” I shoved the covers down and got out of bed. I went straight to the bathroom and did what needed to be done before I stepped back into my room.
My heart stuttered at the sight before me. Maggie had pulled on one of my T-shirts. Two things struck me at once.
Firstly, she was comfortable digging around in my things for something to wear. And secondly, how much I loved seeing her in my clothes. Especially bent over like that as she retrieved her clothes from the floor.
She faced me, a knowing smirk playing on her lips as she noticed where my eyes were. “Give me a few minutes and we can leave. Though, maybe I want coffee first. This is way too early for them on the weekend. I need some armor.”
As promised, we met in the kitchen less than 20 minutes later.
Both of us were in sweats and she still wore my T-shirt.
The amount of satisfaction that raced through me as I saw her in it probably bordered on caveman-alphahole but I didn’t care.
It probably smelled like me, reminding her she was mine.
And as the soft fabric draped over her curves, she made sure the world knew it as well.
I poured her a cup of coffee and added the sugar and creamer. Maggie walked over to the pantry and pulled out two store bought muffins, handing me one.
“If we put our coffee in the to-go mugs, we can leave now.” She stood in the middle of the kitchen, not making any attempt to relax.
With that I reached into the top cabinet and pulled down both mugs.
We poured our coffee over and before either of us could give it another thought, we headed back to the garage.
Maggie walked ahead of me, and when she went to round the Mercedes, I stopped.
“We’re not using that car. Not for a while. ”
I led her to the SUV. The windows and body were both bullet proof, not to mention all the additions Nick had wanted done to keep his people as safe as possible.
“Does this have as many bells and whistles as those secret service vehicles?”
I gave her a smile. Snow Protection Gear, the branch of Snow Enterprises I had initiated, either provided or had been in negotiations for most branches of government.
The Secret Service had kept their provider and did not have a contract with us.
Which was why I could confidently answer her.
“This one is safer than the one used by the secret service.”
She stared at me, her mouth hanging open. “Seriously?”
“Maggie, my company provided the protective armor for this car, I am very serious.”
With that, her mouth closed and the drive across town to her parent’s place was quiet.
It was a different silence to the night before though.
That had been filled with tension and secrets that needed to be spilled.
In the fresh light of day, the silence was filled with excitement and only a small amount of worry at what Fred could do.
I pulled up to her parents’ place and a different kind of fear took hold.
Harry Bauman was protective of his girls. Sure, I knew he trusted me, but that was before he found out his daughter was living with me. Before he knew I was fucking his daughter. And one look at me or Maggie and he would know.
He opened the door before either of us could knock. “After what I’d heard on the scanners, I was expecting you last night.”
“We didn’t want to disrupt them last night.” Maggie spoke before planting a kiss on his cheek.
He raised a brow at her. “And what? Six-thirty in the morning is not a disruption?”
She ignored him and walked inside, leaving me alone with the man who had been the only father she’d known. “Morning, Sir.”
His eyes narrowed, searching my face. “Anything I need to worry about?”
“No sir. I’m taking care of all of them.”
He nodded and allowed me to walk past. “I’m trusting you here, Snow. Don’t make me regret that. By the way, the kids have been awake since before dawn. They were taking sunrise photos with Tess.”
“Yes, Sir.”
We walked into a cozy living room where all hell was in the process of breaking loose.
“But, Mom.” Hayden’s voice was cracking and he was close to tears. “You promised I could stay today and grandpa said he’d take Ethan and me go-carting.”
Maggie shook her head. “You can do it another time. The go-carting track is not going anywhere.”
“No.” Hayden stamped his foot and folded his arms as he glared at his mom. “No. You’ll just forget your promise next time too.”
Her words were soft but I could see the anguish on her face. “Baby boy.”
“Don’t call me that.” He raised his voice. “I’m not a baby. I want to stay. I hate you.”
Her face paled and I could tell the words hit like a dagger to her heart. Maybe he was angry, and maybe he was disappointed, but at that moment he needed a father. Whether he wanted it or not.
As calmly as I could muster. I walked over and nodded at him . “Let’s go talk in the kitchen.”
“I don’t want to.” He stiffened his shoulders and faced me.
I was not backing down though. “I didn’t ask, I said let’s go talk somewhere else. Are you walking on your own, or am I carrying you?”
I felt everyone’s stare’s around me but I kept my focus on the little boy who needed to test the boundaries of the adults around him. Hayden swung around and stomped off to the kitchen.
When we reached the kitchen I lifted him onto a stool and I sat in the one next to him. I wanted to make my point but I didn’t want him to be scared of me.
I kept my tone even, despite the nerves of stepping up in a way I knew he needed. “No one speaks to your mother like that.”
His little brows furrowed and he crossed his arms once more. “But she promised.”
“Son, I love you. You and your sister’s happiness and safety are my top priority.” I knew I needed to say more but some things needed to wait until after I spoke to Maggie. “But if you ever speak to your mother like that again, you’ll find yourself missing out on more than just go-carting.”
The words were true in every sense. The words were said by a man who was confident he would be around to make good on that promise.
“Am I understood?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Now go and apologize to your mother and I will call your aunt and see if Ethan can spend the day with us.”
