Epilogue
Liam figured that Theo giving birth to their daughter was not his finest moment, but that didn’t matter—it didn’t have to be. It was Theo’s finest moment. His was yet to come.
Now it was up to him to be a good father and provide her a good pack, and to make it up to Theo that he’d lost his cool a little bit yesterday.
Theo had fallen asleep, so he had held Gael and assured their son that he was so loved and so needed. And then he had fed the baby several times, Sara showing him how to do it, because unlike Gael, the tiny one had to learn to take a nipple.
He looked up to check on his mate, and Theo was smiling at him. “That was intense and weird, huh?”
Liam went over, Heather in his arms. “Everyone’s talking about how fast everything went, how amazing you are. You did so good.”
“I’m not sure what happened. Maybe we were in the water so much. I just don’t know, but I’m glad you were here when it happened.”
“So am I, even though I didn’t do such a great job.”
“You called the pack to us, and that was the best thing you could have done. I was stunned too. I couldn’t have figured out what to do for the life of me.
” Theo reached out to take his free hand because Gael was down in his little bed, so it was just the three of them: him, Theo, and Heather.
“I love you, mate. I-I’m sorry that everything happened so fast. I ruined the party. ”
“You didn’t ruin the party. It was a baby shower, and then suddenly there was a baby.
I haven’t gotten to show you the cradle, though.
I finished it with Ryan’s help.” Liam chuckled, and Theo grinned at him, and suddenly they were both laughing.
This whole thing was so ridiculous, but it was their life, and he loved it.
Theo squeezed his hand, then kissed Heather’s soft little temple. “Welcome home. Welcome home to all of us.”
They’d finally made a place where they could all thrive.
