Chapter 37

VIOLET
“Goodbye, lovely beach house.” I look around the empty space.
I pick up Pom-pom and tuck him under my arm. “Do you want to say goodbye too?” I hold on to Pom-pom’s paw and wave it for him.
I’ve made some big life-changing decisions since Lincoln left Santa Monica almost a month ago. For some of which I am still not sure I have done the right thing.
Like leaving my house.
Selling all my furniture.
And the biggest one of all, changing my job.
My dad and I sat down and had a huge heart-to-heart. He understood where I was coming from. He knew I needed a fresh new challenge, so he helped me find one.
And as for Viva?
She is no longer in my father’s life. Thankfully.
He visited her the day after Lincoln’s family left, but he said she wasn’t exactly forthcoming, and she knew they were over.
And guess what? My father has already moved on to somebody else, girlfriend number eight .
I’m yet to meet her but I’m pretty sure she’ll be the one .
Hannah and Ruby have been so supportive and have checked in with me every day, especially on the days I couldn’t get out of bed when my heart was breaking.
I’ve missed Lincoln every minute and every hour.
I’ve longed to reach out to him but I haven’t because I have a new life plan.
“C’mon then, little fluff ball, let’s go start our new adventure.”
I take a deep breath in.
I hope I’m doing the right thing.
