Epilogue

Aurora

“So remember when I showed up at your house and apologized and we said we loved each other?”

“Ummm…ya. That happened just last week.”

“Right.” He sits back in his chair and kicks his legs up on his desk. “Well, something has been eating away at me. There’s something I didn’t tell you.”

“Wait. Don’t go there yet. We need to talk about Levi and your security. You’ve been slacking lately.”

“What?”

“You didn’t even have security the night we were at the gala.”

“Just because you didn’t notice them, doesn’t mean they weren’t there.”

“Levi was there?”

“Not him. One of his teams. I’ve been keeping his agency so busy he hardly needs any other contracts. He’s always got a team watching me.”

“Alright. I trust you. So what about the VP mountain tour with Jack? Does Levi know about that yet?”

“I told him already. He and Jack are sorting it out between the two of them. Don’t worry. I would have told you if you needed to make the arrangements.”

“Hmm.”

“Satisfied?”

“Yes.”

“Good. Now don’t you want to hear about what’s been eating away at me?”

“Spill.”

We’re back to being our well-oiled machine. Back to work, but this week has included a few under the desk orgasms. Over the desk too. Against the wall. Ya. No one should have any meetings in here anymore. This is officially our space.

“I had a Plan B.”

I wave my hand in a motion for him to continue.

“And it was good.” He’s smirking at me.

“Okay. Are you going to tell me this Plan B?”

“I’m still deciding.”

I chunk my pen at him and he laughs.

“Fine. I’ll tell you. You deserve to know. I think it’ll make you very happy.” He waggles his eyebrows at me.

“Did you buy me a vibrator?”

“Think bigger.”

“A dildo?”

“Aurora, Sweetheart, think much bigger.”

“An open tab at Pie in the Sky for all the mint chocolate fudge I could possibly eat?”

“Okay, Pumpkin. We’re seriously not thinking big enough here. I’m just going to tell you.”

“Wait.” I glare at him for the usage of Pumpkin , then put my hands in the air to stop him. “I’m close—”

“You’re not close at all. You’re lightyears away.”

“Lightyears?”

“As in, you’re not just not playing on the right ball diamond, Sweetheart, you’re not even playing on the right planet.”

“Whatever. Just tell me.”

“Thank you.” He sits back all smugly. “I bought you an island.”

It takes me a second, but then I burst out laughing. “Oh, that’s a good one. You almost had me.”

“I’m serious,” he says, crossing his arms. “Wylder, Greyson and the rest of the billionaire boys decided we wanted an island resort.”

“Wait, you bought a resort? That makes more sense. A little more sense.”

“And an island.”

“You bought me an island?” I’m in disbelief, so of course I’m repeating myself.

“Okay, maybe I’m overstating. It’s not just yours. But we bought an island and we’re going to work from there whenever we feel like it. And we’ll vacation from there, too. Just like you said you wanted.”

“Tucker!” I shout at him. “That’s crazy. What if I had said I wanted to travel into space?”

“I’d ask you how far you wanted to go.”

And yup…I’m dead in the water. There’s no turning back from this guy. He’d hire me or fire depending on what I want. He’d buy me the best gift I could never expect. Honestly. What the heck? But the most important thing, he’d be the cliche for me.

He’d drop to his knees trying to convince me that we’re meant to be together. He’d tell me he loves me, and mean it. Then he’d show me every day.

And that’s all I want. All I’ve ever wanted. And all I’ll want in the future. Us. Together. It’s perfect.
