11. CHAPTER 11
CHAPTER 11
It killed Nessim that his mate would leave in the morning, but he knew it was necessary. As much as he hated thinking about it, having only two towns that were shifter-run wasn’t ideal.
The others were right that it put them at risk. He wasn’t even certain that only three towns would be enough to keep them all safe. Even though he’d heard the rumors that the humans might have plans to put them all together so they could attack, Nessim hadn’t really thought it possible.
Now? He wasn’t so certain it wasn’t their plan. The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. Why else would they go to all the trouble of attacking town after town of shifters only to allow the Council to take them back? Sure, it wasn’t quite that simple, but still…
“Hey,” Aban wrapped his arms around Nessim. “You okay?”
Was he?
“No,” he blurted out before he could even think about it. “I mean…Right here, in your arms, yes, but the thought of humans possibly manipulating shifters into a situation that could get us all killed is…”
“Daunting?” Aban asked when Nessim couldn’t quite come up with a word.
He nodded against Aban’s broad chest. “But as much as it hurts to think about, can we not talk about it right now?” He tilted his head up for a kiss. “I get you will only be gone for the day, but I really want this night to be about us.”
Aban smiled down at him. “That is something I am more than happy to do.”
When their lips met that time, Nessim felt as if he were being completely possessed by his mate, and he loved every damn minute of it. He’d never been so…well cherished in his entire life.
“You are perfect,” Aban murmured as his mate lifted him into his arms and carried him to the bedroom of the small apartment Nessim had in Miracle for when he traveled there to see patients.
The care Aban took of him as he stripped Nessim’s clothes off sent shivers through him, which earned him a knowing smile. “You are so damn sexy,” Aban told him as he placed kisses along each inch of skin he revealed.
Threading his fingers through Aban’s hair, Nessim held him close as his mate peppered his skin with kisses. He wasn’t certain there was anything more perfect than being so close to Aban.
Nessim’s entire body was aflame with need.
“I’ve got you, sweet one,” Aban promised with each press of his lips. “I will always have you.”
Was it possible to combust with desire? In that moment of time, Nessim was positive it was and would happen as firm hands stroked his flesh, followed quickly by teeth nipping him before Aban’s tongue licked the slight sting away. Never in his life had Nessim ever experienced so much fucking pleasure as he had in that moment. For that matter, he hadn’t known it existed.
He arched up into Aban’s touch, craving more. He didn’t even imagine things could get better, yet with each moment, it did.
“Delicious,” Aban murmured as his tongue dipped into Nessim’s belly button.
Another shiver went through him. “Please,” he begged as he tried to push up his pelvis to get his dick closer to his mate’s mouth. He would never force Aban to suck him off, but he wasn’t above pleading for release. “I need.”
“I told you, I’ve got you, sweet one,” Aban reminded him just a moment before hot, wet heat engulfed his cock.
“Yes,” Nessim cried out.
The vibration of Aban’s moan as he took Nessim deep into his mouth was pure heaven. But it would never be enough. He needed to feel his mate deep inside of his body before he came. “I need you,” he pleaded.
Slick fingers entered him, stretching him as Aban’s mouth kept sucking him. His whole body was vibrating with the need. Nessim wasn’t even certain he could control the orgasm that was trying to erupt from him. Each touch was electric and pushed him closer and closer to paradise, even though he tried like hell not to allow it to happen.
He wanted… No, he needed to wait until his mate was buried as deep within his body as possible before he came. “Please fuck me,” he begged.
Thank fuck Aban listened to him and penetrated him. “Yes. Please. Don’t stop,” he cried out.
There was no way to explain how perfect it felt to have his mate filling and stretching him so perfectly. Nothing else mattered more than that moment when Aban pushed into him while holding Nessim in his arms.
“I love you, mate,” Aban whispered seconds before those firm lips captured Nessim’s. “Mine,” Aban declared.
Nessim melted even as his body met each of Aban’s thrusts. “I love you too,” he cried out as he came apart in his mate’s arms.
He did not know he would ever experience anything so profound. “Yours,” Nessim confirmed as his entire body shook as he tried to come down from the greatest orgasm he’d ever had.
“I promise I will only be gone for the day.” Nessim wanted to believe Aban, but he had no way of knowing if his mate could keep that promise.
“I know,” Nessim said, even though he didn’t completely believe those words. Still, he knew, deep in his heart, that his mate would do whatever it took to return to him by the end of the day.
Nessim just needed to have faith, something he’d lacked in his life. He might do what he could to help others, which often included helping them once again find that belief that things would work out, but just because he helped others find it didn’t mean he’d believed it.
As a therapist, he would have highly suggested he seek therapy for himself. But as the saying went, doctors made the worst patients.
“I will be waiting for you to return,” he said before leaning closer to kiss his mate.
Aban chuckled lightly when they parted. “I know we’ve only recently met. Still, I can tell you’re lying.” He hugged Nessim closer. “But I will prove I will always keep my promises to you.”
That was something Nessim believed.
