Chapter 14 #2

I frowned slightly. I didn’t have the slightest clue what she was talking about.

I knew Philly because that was PJ’s dad, but I didn’t know the history.

I was on the phone with her, trying to get her to go get her sister.

Ashanni had refused to talk anymore about it.

I knew that Maui’s family knew where she was, because Uncle Legend had called Mr. Storm.

They chopped it up like grown men and both decided to wash their hands of the situation, despite how much it hurt to do so.

I didn’t think SS was on that same wave though.

He and his cousins were planning something.

They were in the back of the diner now, having some sort of private meeting.

Ashanni’s brothers were a part of it, along with Ace, Rylan, Christian, Jacob, and KJ and his brothers.

There were about ten of them. Jayceon and I had come here for lunch.

He was eating his cornbread while I talked to Bali and being sure to pay attention to my surroundings.

Ashanni was going to meet us here in a little bit.

“What happened with them?”

“I don’t have time to explain that shit to you, Asad. Find somebody who give a damn. Bye.”

She ended the call, and I slowly shook my head.

I didn’t know what Carter Legend and Red Squared saw in those mean ass girls.

I thought that shit every time I had to interact with one of them.

She was clearly irritated with the whole situation, but I could also hear the hurt in her mean ass tone.

Maui was a good girl gone bad it seemed.

She was literally going against her entire family for a nigga that was full of shit.

It had to be the dick. That was the only thing I could think of. She was dickmatized.

Ashanni walked in, Ali right behind her, and Jayceon noticed her right away. “Miss Shani!”

She smiled big as he left his seat to love on her.

I was so happy that he loved her the way he did.

She hugged him tightly as Ali smiled. I appreciated how they were looking out for us.

When I left the house today, one of them was outside and followed me here.

He got out of his vehicle first to check the area, then gave me a nod to know the coast was clear. They were extremely thorough.

I stood from my seat and kissed my baby on her lips and discreetly gripped her ass in the tight ass skirt she wore.

Her cheeks reddened as I bit my bottom lip.

We’d been at her parents’ house for a couple of days, and I was fiending big time.

Watching her ass bounce going up and down the stairs was rough, especially when she was in her pajamas.

I’d have to go to the bathroom and jack off.

My mind would simply go back to our night at the Four Seasons and how she bobbed and sucked on my dick like it was popsicle. I pulled her chair out and watched her sit her fine ass in it, then walked around to my seat while my little man tried to push her in further. “That’s good, Jay.”

“Thank you, suga,” she said to him and kissed his cheek.

That lil nigga had the audacity to blush and smile. I slowly shook my head as he took his seat. “You know, if I wasn’t your daddy, I would think you were trying to steal my woman.”

He chuckled and frowned. “Like a girlfriend?”

“Yeah. You tryna take my girlfriend?”

“No way! She’s my new mommy!”

My eyes widened and so did Ashanni’s. I could see her eyes water.

She stared up at the ceiling, desperately trying to keep her tears at bay.

I didn’t know what to say to Jayceon. This was his second time saying that.

This time was different, though, because of all the shit going on with Mila.

There was no way he was ever going back to her.

Ashanni was definitely going to be his new mama, eventually. We’d just never mentioned it. I was sure she knew it too. She smiled at him, but before she could say anything, someone behind us said, “Hell, naw. That shit ain’t gon’ work. I’m already on probation. You tryna get a nigga locked up.”

I turned around to see someone stand from his seat with a bunch of hair. Ashanni stood, and asked, “Ace, you good?”

“Hell naw. Get yo’ cousin, man, before he end up dead. He tryna fly off the handle with a known thug and gon’ get fucked up.”

PJ walked in right after, and said, “SS, shut that shit down, man. He walked over to where they were seated and said, “Mythic ain’t to be fucked with. So if you think you finna try to pull some bullshit, think again.”

“We are over here talking about how we can get Maui. That’s my sister he fucking with. I know that’s your family and shit, but Maui is my family. How would you feel if it were Lema? You would burn all of Nome down before you let a nigga fuck with your twin. Think about that shit.”

“I would be pissed, but at the same time, he ain’t forcing her to do shit she don’t wanna do.

How you fight something she wanna do? You gon’ get yourself tied up in all kinds of shit, only for her to go back.

Then yo’ ass will be in jail or the grave for nothing.

I’m just asking you to chill. Y’all my family too.

You know that shit, man. I feel like I’m in the middle, and I don’t like that shit.

Let it go. Your pops already washed his hands of it.

What that tell you? He knows Maui is just gonna go right back. ”

SS rubbed his hand down his face as KJ, Christian, Jacob, and Rylan moved to another table when their aunt brought out their food.

“I’m gon’ look out for her and make sure she don’t get caught up in no bullshit. Okay? You have my word, man.”

PJ extended his hand as SS stared at him, then slapped it.

“I’m trusting you, PJ, man. She ain’t thinking clearly right now.

She hadn’t even come home to go to work, throwing her career and future away.

All those years of school for nothing. This shit is tearing our family apart.

My mama been crying every fucking day behind this shit. ”

“Seven, I got’chu, bruh. I promise. I’m sure Carter Legend, Cousin Harper, and Cousin Legend gon’ be looking out for her too. Nobody in the family agrees with this shit either. His sisters and other brother are there too. Ain’t shit gon’ happen to her on our watch, unless she pushes against us.”

“That’s what I’m afraid of, PJ. It’s like she don’t know what’s good for her. Jack her ass up if you have to, to keep her safe.”

He nodded, and they slapped hands again as I glanced at Ashanni and Ace. This was gonna be a shit storm, and I didn’t want to be nowhere near it when it intensified.
