W aking up with Adele in my arms was like waking up on Christmas morning as a kid to find your dream gift waiting for you beneath the tree. The soft glow of the morning light filtered through the window, casting a warm hue over her peaceful face. Her hair was a tousled mess, cascading over the pillow in waves, and her lips were slightly parted, inviting me to steal a kiss. The rise and fall of her chest was soothing—it made me want to stay in this moment forever.
My thoughts weren’t in line with reality, though, because I knew deep down, I’d have to face the music with Elena. It didn’t matter, though. I had Adele.
The soft purr of her cat, Ernie, broke the silence as he jumped onto the bed, his amber eyes studying me curiously. I reached out to stroke his fur, the gentle vibration of his purr resonating through my fingertips. He peered around, clearly looking for his momma.
“Hey there, buddy,” I whispered, a smile tugging at the corners of my mouth. “I hope you don’t mind sharing your momma with me.”
Adele stirred beside me, her eyelashes fluttering as she slowly woke up. She lifted her head, her sleepy gaze meeting mine, and a soft smile spread across her face.
“Morning,” she murmured, her voice still husky from sleep. She looked down at Ernie, her eyes filling with warmth. “And good morning to you too, Mr Grumpy.”
I chuckled, my heart swelling with affection as I watched her interact with her cat. “Does he usually wake you up like this?” I asked, reaching out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.
Adele nodded, her cheeks flushing slightly at my touch. “Yeah, he’s a bit of a demanding little thing. Well, until he’s fed, anyway.”
She sat up, the duvet falling to her waist, revealing her bare shoulders. I couldn’t help but admire the smooth curve of her neck, the delicate line of her collarbone. She was breathtaking, a vision of pure beauty that made my heart ache with longing.
“Coffee?” she offered, looking up at me with those beautiful eyes.
I nodded, my stomach flipping at the thought of spending more time with her. “Yes, please. Can I help?”
Adele shook her head, a playful smile on her lips. “Nope. You stay here. I’ll be right back.”
She slipped out of bed, her silky robe clinging to her curves as she padded across the room. I watched her go, my heart pounding as I realised how much I wanted this—how much I wanted her.
“Any sugar in your coffee?”
“No,” I replied, gazing at her with adoration. “Skip the coffee if it brings you back to bed quicker.”
Adele flushed, and it made my soul sing. “I won’t be long, or Ernie may start eating me.”
“Sounds like a plan.” I smirked as she flushed a deeper shade of crimson.
As she left the room, I took a moment to take in my surroundings. Her bedroom reflected her personality, filled with warm colours and eclectic decor. The walls were adorned with photographs, each telling her life story. Her clothes were neatly arranged on an open rail, a rainbow of colours and textures.
Adele returned a few moments later, carrying two steaming mugs of coffee and a packet of biscuits. The rich and comforting scent filled the room, seeming to wrap around us like a warm embrace. She held out a mug to me.
“Here you go,” she said, her voice soft and gentle. “I thought we might need some fuel after last night.”
I took the mug from her, our fingers touching briefly, my eyes never leaving hers. “Thank you. You look so beautiful in the morning, Adele.”
Her cheeks flushed at my words, a delicate pink that only enhanced her natural beauty. She sat down on the bed beside me, her thigh pressing against mine, sending a wave of heat through my body.
“You know, morning sex is so underrated,” I murmured, my voice low and husky. I reached out to trace the curve of her jaw, my fingers lingering on her skin.
Adele’s breath hitched, her eyes darkening with desire. “Is that so?” she whispered.
I nodded, my heart pounding as I leaned in to capture her lips in a fierce kiss. Her taste was intoxicating, a heady mixture of sweetness and passion that left me craving more. I tugged at the belt of her robe, the silky fabric sliding open to reveal her naked form. I drank in the sight of her, my eyes tracing every curve and line of her body.
She was perfection, a goddess brought to life, and I couldn’t get enough of her.
I ran my hands over her smooth skin, feeling the heat of her body beneath my fingertips. She let out a soft moan, her head falling back as I pressed my lips to the pulse point on her throat. I could feel her heart racing, the steady beat echoing my wild pulse.
Adele rocked against me, her head rolling forward as she sank her mouth onto my shoulder, biting and nibbling as my thumb circled her clit. “God, you’re so good at this,” Adele moaned, picking up speed as her hips thrust against me.
“Mmm,” I mumbled, moving my hand to stroke myself. I gripped the shaft, and Adele met my fist with her tightness, easing herself onto me as I let out a groan. “Fuckkkkkk.” We locked our mouths together again, feeling starved of love, as our tongues danced together, and I tightly gripped her smooth ass. Her legs wrapped around me, her mouth leaving mine as she gasped, reaching down to touch herself. I lifted her up and down my shaft, watching as she lost control, her breathing ragged, her lips curled into a lust-filled smile. “Come for me, baby.” Adele swallowed, and I picked up speed, thrusting into her with deep, long strokes as her fingers circled her clit. “Oh my God!” Adele mumbled, throwing her head back as her body stiffened, cries of passion and ecstasy filling the room. I dropped my mouth on her nipple, sucking softly as my teeth grazed the bud. “Your turn,” Adele breathed, her eyes locking on mine. “I love you inside of me.”
“I love you,” I whispered back, her mouth claiming mine as I emptied myself into her, my cries dulled by her mouth.
“I love you, too,” Adele mumbled.
Afterwards, we lay in each other’s arms, our breaths slowly returning to normal. Adele traced lazy patterns on my chest, her head resting on my shoulder. I could have stayed like that forever, lost in the warmth of her embrace, the soft scent of her hair filling my senses.
But reality had a way of intruding on even the most perfect moments.
Adele sighed softly, her fingers stilling on my chest. “When will you tell Elena?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
I tensed, the mention of Elena’s name like a bucket of cold water dumped over my head. I didn’t want to think about her, not when I was here with Adele or when everything felt right.
“I’ll see her later,” I commented, my voice tight.
Adele looked up at me, her eyes filled with uncertainty. “You promise?”
I nodded, cupping her cheek in my hand. “I promise. I’ll end things with her, Adele. I can’t be with anyone else when I’m in love with you.”
Adele buried her face in my chest. I held her close, my arms wrapped around her, feeling her body shake with emotion. I knew that this wasn’t going to be easy and that there would be obstacles and challenges along the way. But I also knew that I couldn’t live without Adele in my life—not again.
As we lay there, lost in each other’s embrace, I made a silent vow to do whatever it took to keep her by my side. No matter what the cost, no matter what the consequences, I would fight for our love—for our future together.
Because nothing was more important to me than Adele—my lost summer girl, my one true love.
